Never Eating Here Again! – If you had asked me on any other day what I thought about Campsi's, I would have told you it was one of my favorite places to eat and relax. After tonight, however, I will likely never be going back.
The evening started out much like any other Friday night. My husband and I called up a couple of friends to see if they wanted to go to Campisi's with us. Neither of them had been and we were excited to share this with them. When we arrived around 7 pm, our friend put down our name and he was told the wait was about 15-20 minutes (which usually means a little less). My husband later went inside and told them we would like a table outside, if possible. The wind had died down and it wasn't warm or cool....just right. The hostess said she would see what she could do.
In the meantime, a group of people had walked up and filled up the two outdoor tables, which still had food on them from the last diners. about 15 minutes later, one of the women (these were cougars with young children and yuppie looking husbands) went inside to get menus. Around 7:40, a waiter and trainee came out and asked them if they wanted any drinks - which most of them had already gotten. I told the trainee that we had asked for one of those tables and these people had just gotten there and sat down. When the waiter came back with their additional drinks, I told him the same thing and he said he would let the manager know.
The manager eventually came out and told us he had a table for us. I explained the situation for him and he said they were ahead of us on the list. I told him they were not and went inside to talk to the hostess. She told the same story as the manager so I asked him to talk to my husband. While the manager was gone, the hostess proceeded to confirm my story to me (that we had requested the outside table and she admitted that she had not paid attention to who was seated out there). Once the manager returned, he told me that my husband had never requested an outside table and basically that I was lying to him. I argued with him for a few minutes and he never apologized and continued to maintain that I was incorrect. The hostess again started siding with him so there was no hope.
It was close to 8 pm when we finally left. We had never experienced anything like this before, but it was ridiculously unprofessional and just downright rude. Needless to say, they have lost a loyal customer. I am trying to get ahold of the general manager or the owner for additional complaints.
Unbelieveable old world, old Dallas pizza – This is the real deal. If you like thin crust, this is the one for you! Delicious pizza, salads, service, atmosphere and killer happy hour. We love Campisi's. BTW, it is part of the Campisi's Egyptian Room family.
Thin crust is too tough....... – Went to the Plano location on Parker Road. Thin crust so tough couldn't cut with a knife. Toppings were just okay....I may not be a good judge, as I prefer a thicker, tender crust. Love the old location on Mockingbird Lane, Campisi's Egyptian's. No atmosphere, ambience at Plano location. Plus, no beer or wine to enjoy with your pizza. Service was acceptable. Will not return however. I love my Italian pizza restaurant atmosphere and soft, thick crust !!!
Take Out - Poor Service; food great – So, don't expect great service if you order take out from this location. I have placed orders on many occassions and it just seems that they want to provide me just enough service. It is just very neutral....every time....and from different servers. I will continue to order from there, as it is seconds from my office and very convenient. I just don't get good vibes when I pick up.
The food is always very good....but pricey for lunch.
worst pizza – Let me tell you somthing..youre better off getting pizza hut..the pizza tasted like carboard. Not very happy!!
Superb Pizza – I have been here several times and I cannot stop ordering the pizza! I am from Chicago and pizza down here just does not compare to Chicago's premier pizzas. However, Campisi's is the closest I have found! Unfortunately, I have never tried anything else here but I can't stop ordering the pizza each time I go in.
Excellent place for all your italian tastes!! – I dont know where to start! This place is absolutely wonderful! A very contemporary look (esp compared to original location). Great menu items from the best pizza to every pasta dish thinkable to awesome appetizers. A great happy hour, with live entertainment (on Thursdays) and free pizza Monday through Friday!! A must try! Great for after work gatherings, dates, and parties!
