I love this place!! – All of my girlfriends and I frequent this place almost every weekend!! The new menu is great, and there is always a hip, trendy crowd. I would definitely make online reservations through the website though.
Make sure to give us a call next time for VIP services at 415.982.5299.
Not impressed – Impala Restaurant is the quintessential bridge & tunnel spot. The concept is good, restaurant upstairs, lounge downstairs but it didn't work for me. There were a number of bouncers at the door which I still can't explain. In fact when our group was leaving the restaurant we were told we needed to exit through the back door. As far as dinner itself, the food looked like it should taste great but it was bland and disappointing. At least the chips and salsa were good. Impala does have an extensive tequila selection and my margarita was good but pretty expensive. I will not be returning. There are far too many better restaurants and night spots in SF.
We are truly sorry that you had an unfortunate experience at Impala. We have actually launched a new menu this week, and would love it if you could come in and check it out. If you come in on a Monday it is actually 50% off pitchers of margaritas as well....please feel free to give me a call at 415.956.3554 so I can send you a card for 10% off your dinner the next time you go to Impala.
one of the best – This place is great if you want to have a great meal and not have to leave to find a hot & sexy scene. The food was tasty, I especially like the tacos! The scene was hot with an attractive and eclectic group of people at the bar. The underground VIP lounge was also amazing. The room looked straight out of a music video with the whole crowd jamming to the DJ.
Thank you for your review!!!
KEEP COMING BACK! – WE HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME AT IMPALA ON FRIDAY NIGHT THAT WE WENT BACK SATURDAY TOO. FRIDAY NIGHT WE CAME IN EARLY FOR AN INCREDIBLE DINNER (QUESADILLAS AND THE AL PASTOR!) AND SOME REALLY GOOD MARGARITAS. THEN WE WENT DOWNSTAIRS TO THE LOUNGE FOR BOTTLE SERVICE AND DANCING. SATURDAY NIGHT WE GOT IN A LITTLE LATE SO WE HAD TO PAY COVER, BUT THE BOUNCER COLLECTING OUR MONEY WAS NOT ONLY GORGEOUS, BUT THE MOST POLITE BOUNCER IVE ENCOUNTERED IN 10 YEARS OF CLUBBING. ASIDE FROM BEING PACKED SATURDAY NIGHT, IT WAS THE SAME QUALITY SERVICE, DRINKS, AND ACCOMADATIONS AS THE NIGHT BEFORE.
not that great for dinner – I would not recommend eating at Impala. This is a great place to have drinks and lounge but not for dinner. Portions were small and not very flavorful. Skip the meal and have a drink. Or maybe just skip all together.
I am sorry that you did not have a great experience at Impala, but I just wanted to let you know that we have actually just launched a new menu this week with our new chef de cuisine Jamaal Taherzadeh. We would love it if you could come back and give us another chance!! You can even give us a call at 415.956.3554 and I will send you a card for 10% off your next dinner with us.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
User review by caddy25 – I liked the scene and the food was pretty good. My quesadilla was yummy. The margarita was OK. The waitresses were pretty nice to look at and the DJ was rockin some phat beats
Thank you for review, and we look forward to having you back here again!!
Good place for a night out with friends – I had a great time at Impala with a group of friends for a birthday party. We had some the of mexican cuisine upstairs and then later on went downstairs to the lounge. The food and drinks were superb and everyone had a blast. Expect a hip crowd at night...
Thank you for your review!! We look forward to having you back here again soon!
Clubby cantina-style restaurant with a menu designed to sync with its masculine party environment. – The Scene
The main dining room is chic-ly rustic with ranch-style wood tables and chairs and suspended platforms laden with flickering candles. The meandering bar has a DJ spinning loud club music from a niche above. The space integrates flashy design elements from its neighbors, including mirrored ceilings and TV screens playing footage of rodeos and girls in bikinis. There is enclosed sidewalk seating and an intimate lounge downstairs.
The not-so-groundbreaking but affordable menu is built for grazing over pricey cocktails, including cheese concoctions like kicky jalapenos stuffed with queso fresco. A hearts of palm salad is actually greens with a mere sprinkling of sliced hearts of palm, but smoky-sweet grilled corn is a satisfying side dish. Entrees are a range of fish dishes, slow-roasted meats and Mexican classics made with quality ingredients.
Ever paid $80 for a pitcher of Margaritas? – I applaud the dream.... good food, great vibe, sexy people. Unfortunately, the servers behave like used car salesman. They dont tell you upfront but those margaritas are $80 a pitcher (weak too). The food has potential. Mine was cold, but I figure they will remedy this over time. On the positive side, local strippers frequent the lounge downstairs from 9-11PM. J
I am very sorry you had such an unfortunate experience at Impala. we have actually just undergone a change in management and staff and would love it if you could come give us another chance! If you come in on any Monday night we also have 50% margaritas and bottles of wine!! Give me a call at 415.956.3554 and I will send you a card for 10% off your next dinner at Impala as well.
