great food! – While i agree with that it is spatially awkward, the food more than makes up for it! Upstairs there are couches and booths that seem much more suited for a late night crowd than dinner.
Modest neighborhood Italian joint serves up surprisingly good pizza and glorious, doughy sandwiches. – The Scene
This snug, two-story space is spatially awkward. Downstairs, barflies perch on stools, inhaling cigarettes in one of the neighborhood's few remaining eateries to welcome smokers. Upstairs, the decor is akin to a rec room, with mismatched furniture, dartboards, a soundtrack heavy on AC/DC, a disco ball and another bar. Though the servers are affable, food can be slow to hit the table.
Worth the wait? The baked feta in marinara, like a sauce to spread bruschetta-style on toasted bread, is salty and tasty. The meatball stromboli is a gorgeous, yeasty log: latticed golden brown bread, a foot long, stuffed with cheese, onion, green peppers, meatballs and mozzarella. The chicken and artichoke pizza advertises chopped garlic, but it's not obvious; still, it's better than the average pie. If it's not sold out, try the top-selling wild mushroom ravioli.
