Fri nights Lame-OVER RATED ON THE RADIO – 6 of us drove down, I paid $20 to walk in, see the emptiness of only 20-25 people in the entire place @ 11:45 pm and bailed. The bathroom attendant was asleep, dance floor looked like a reject movie scene. Definitely do something else with your time but go here.

Since there is a 100 word minimum for a user rating, I?ll just copy and paste the same thing over and over.

Ugh! – i was out to have some real fun. i had not been dancing in weeks. there were 8 of us in the group. we waited for 30 minutes when they had said they were opening the doors at a certain time to let people in. it was freezing! then they start to let people in and when we got to the front they told my boyfriend his shirt was too casual. he offered to tuck it in but they said no. we were not gonna ruin the evening for everyone so we told everyone else to go in and we would be back. we live an hour away so we had no clue what is in the area. i made a dozen calls to friends and 411 trying to find out what might be open in the area so we could buy a shirt. the only thing was a wal-mart super center in baldwin park. so... there we went all the way to baldwin park to get a shirt. we didnt get back til after 11pm and when my boyfriend got to the front they told him what???????? he had on the wrong kind of shoes!!!!!!! now, believe me if they had said that in the beginning we could have gotten shoes too. again, we were just looking to have a good time. this type of customer service is completely unacceptable and unnecessary.

Avoid Monday through Sunday, especially if it's raining. That ceiling looked pretty bad. – The place stinks, literally. The tables and seating near the dance floor is inadequate, and I don't even want to know what that sticky stuff on the sofas and floor of the 2nd level is....and that's the so called "VIP" section !? If you go to this place with plans to sit and have a few drinks or chat with friends between dances, don't wear white pants folks. I was there for about 1 1/2 hours, and the whole time I was thinking, "let's get outta here before something goes down" (or the roof caves in). In fact, in my experience when you have to enter any establishment through an alley.... well enough said. But the music was good. Hey, to each his own.

Worst Experience Ever!!! – Some friends and I went to check out 740. There was a long line in the alley which smelled horrible and a dead rodent lying on the side of one of the buildings. We paid $20 to get in and it was super crowded and people were really wasted. My friend who is extremely quiet almost got into 2 fights becasue girls were so drunk they kept starting stuff. Last call was annoounced and we went to the bar to get a drink since the venue stayed open after hours. We just got our drinks and began to walk away from the bar and a club bouncer approaches us and tells us to down our drinks. People all around us are still drinking. We tell him we just got our drinks and give us a few minutes. He gets an attitude with us and yells at us NO! LADIES DRINK THE DRINKS NOW OR YOU HAVE TO GO! We continued to take our time with our drinks. As were were standing there with our drinks he precedes to take his hands and tries to turn our cups upside down so the alcohol can spill out. We began screaming and our initial reactions was to resist and try to throw the alcohol on him because he is touching us and using force. He got overly upset and pushed us away from where we were standing then had another bouncer escort us out of the club. We asked for the owner, another bouncer was nice and expalined that he should not have touched us and given us time to finish our drinks. He pointed us in the direction of the owner. When we approached the owner he denied he was the owner becasue he did not want to deal with the situation. Never visit the 740 club! they treat you horrible!!!

Smelly & Dirty – This venue is old cuz it used to be a Theatre. The place stinks & the venue is very dirty. They serve drinks in plastic cups and they even make you take shots in plastic cups. The Patio area looks like an outdoor prison. It isn't a mixed crowd and the location can be very dangerous. The music was good and the DJ really got the crowd pumped up. I wouldn't recommend this place to those who want a nice & clean venue.

Good time with few Cons! – Im A Marine so ive been around different states and different types of bar/lounges/clubs. I recently have been back to LA so I started checking out the night scene around here, and Club 740 was one of my first stops last month. It has some good looking people, hot girls, attentive bartenders and music that will keep you dancing all night to closing time. However this would not be a club I will be visiting often because I seem not to be a huge fan of possibly waiting a while in a long line in an awful smelling and dirty alley with dumpsters next to the line, and there are better clubs that dont charge the ridiculous cover of $20 and overpriced drinks.

Unless You Want to Waste Your Night Away – I have seen some nice clubs/bars and not so nice ones. This place by far was one of the worst experiences ever. To start things off, the entrance was in an alley way next to a dumpster with a homeless guy. The entrance was average for a hyped up club, which doesnt deserve the hype. ($20) The drinks were fairly expensive. I paid $60 for two shots and two mixed drinks, which were watered down. Its cheaper in a Vegas club. The DJ had issues. He couldnt mix to save his life. He must have played the same techno beat 4-5 times on the MAIN floor. The crowd was very rude and pushy. It was impossible holding a conversation with anyone. The only positive were the suspended dancers and the attentive bartenders. NOT WORTH IT unless you want to show up, waste money, hate the music, and go home disappointed. Go somewhere else. I sure am not coming back.

Dancing and drinks galore – Once I FINALLY got in Club 740, I danced until my legs ached. The mix is diverse and keeps everybody dancing. Lots of good looking people were in the house and guys were actually buying drinks, even though they were kinda pricey. I noticed everyone was dressed either REALLY trendy or REALLY upscale, so pull out your good duds for this place. Overall a good time and worth the money spent.

Long Line and expensive and boring – I've been to few clubs downtown, but I'd have to say this was the worst experience I've ever had. Not only was the line outside LONG for NO REASON but they were holding it up to let people in before 10:30 (when it'd be cheaper) for over 45 mins (the line wait was about an hour and a half in a cold dank ally). When we finally got in, just because someone opened up a sidedoor for us as we were about to LEAVE and go somewhere else, it was cold, dirty, expensive ($20) and BORING. The DJ seemed like he had A.D.D. or something with an odd mix of music on the main floor that didn't seem to have any THEME to it. And the dance floor downstairs was EMPTY and COLD. The drinks were expensive FAR MORE THAN HOLLYWOOD EVEN, for a basic cocktail it was $11 and up anywhere else the most I've ever gotten was ten and uslually $7. And it was syrupy and WEAK to top it off. Then there was an announcer, some people seemed to enjoy it but I felt like I might as well be listening to the radio dancing at home and listening to commercials. The crowd wasn't very attractive either and were PUSHY REALLY REALLY PUSHY. We're small girls so we kept getting bounced around by RUDE guys and girls.

I have only one good thing to say about it, I got lots of time to talk to my girlfriends, and the performers, swinging girls and guys, were actually really cool. But overall I've never been to a club that made me count the seconds to get the hell out of there. If you want a better LA club experinece for a better price go somewhere else.
