They use a special wax and my brazilian was almost painless! I couldn't believe it! In fact, it was such a pleasant surprise compared to how dreaded and tense I usually get before a brazilian, the waxer actually told me that I looked very relaxed. -Because I was!
Facial was great as well. They use an oxygen mask instead of a steamer, which was also a welcome switch from the norm.
Buyer Beware. Read that this was the best oxygen facial in the Bay Area, so a girlfriend and I were excited to give it a try. The facial wasnt bad, but like the overall experience it was kind of mediocre. We were both taken at the same time, and while my facial lasted slightly longer than my friends, both of us were out in well under eighty minutes, which is a little irritating since the treatment is listed for ninety minutes. Turns out that was a "misprint" its supposed to be eighty five minutes, but it wasnt even close to that. If the facial was fantastic it might not have been a big deal, but the whole experience outside of the room was as if nobody really cared. This feeling was confirmed when we asked about the time differential at the desk and we were told that they need time to take a break and get the room ready for their next client. Oh, thats nice.
best pedi in the city!.
the pedicures here are what keeps me coming back! you get headphones to watch television, bottled water, little snacks, and the girl WORKS! i've never gotten such callus removal anywhere else. the polish always lasts longer than two weeks...often even a month for me.
the facials are pretty good, but the only wierd thing that i found was once i used a tissue to wipe off a little of the shine before leaving and i wiped off some sort of foundation that had been applied at some point! (i went with a totally clean face and don't even use foundation). is this some sort of gimmick?
Best facial in the city. I have gone to numerous spas in SF looking for the perfect facial, and so far this is the closest. The products are all top-quality, and they are very thorough. The facialist never leaves the room, so while various masks are dying, you are treated to a foot rub or scalp massage. And the lounge is lovely-- little cucumber sandwiches, sweets, and once, glasses of wine! The only downsides are the attempts to up-sell and the price. But this is a worthwhile treat every now and then!
Not good if you only go there for some cheaper treatments!. I went there last time for basic pedicure. It come out ok but for this price, I certainly want something more. The staff are not too nice. However, I believe that we would get better service if we get there for body treatments.
expert care, expensive but worth the price. I've gone to bliss to get my eyebrows done and for a massage (done at different times). Both treatments were performed expertly. Highly recommend. The rooms are a bit sterile, for eyebrows not a big deal but for massage I wish it had been cozier. But the quality of the massage more than made up for it. Ask for Gailee for wax and Angel for massage. don't valet park, it's very expeinsive, cheaper lots are in the neighborhood. Treat yourself to a shower afterwards, it's incredible. Front desk staff are also very, very nice.
pleasant surprise. I had read all the reviews about the bliss spa and was a little apprehensive to try their services, but was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. My skin felt great after the triple oxygen and loved all of the massage included(face, neck, arms and feet! Maybe they just had to work out all of the kinks, I know they opened less than a year ago and it seems like the spa runs very smoothly now. I also loved the clean minimalistic interior, staff was friendly, and their products are the best around.
Ultra-luxe spa offers over-the-top treatments for well-heeled fashionistas with cash to burn..
Nestled in the posh W Hotel, this 5,000-square-foot haven boasts a sleek, minimalist look with vivid splashes of lemons, limes and turquoises. The colorful mani/pedi lounge doubles as a screening room for "Sex and the City" reruns and chick flicks. Attentive staff members lead guests to treatment rooms through bright hallways with padded floors that muffle the sound of footsteps. Locker rooms feature steam showers and saunas while cozy lounges, complete with patio access, stock magazines, light bites and refreshments.
Pampering in such chic environs doesn't come cheap, but the first-rate services are well worth the price tag. Heated beds and R&B tunes set the stage for soothers like facials and massages. Other services include a wrap that uses South African grapefruit essential oil to firm and tone, and the "High Heal-er," a 60-minute foot massage for tootsies that have spent too many hours in stilettos.
Facials, massages, microdermabrasion, body scrubs, body wraps, manicure/pedicure, waxing, airbrush bronzing, self-tanner application, reflexology.
Don't Expect to Relax.
Don't expect to relax when you vist Bliss. I love bliss products but the spa experience was not worth it, and it did not live up the the hype of citysearch's review.
Firstly, the music is blaring, up-tempo and techno at times. When I'm getting a facial and I'm trying to relax, I don't want to hear The Beatles. (All of my friends have complained about the music.)
Second, I went in for a micro-dermabrasion facial and the esthetician did it wrong, held it on my nose too long and I was left with a BIG SORE on my nose for a week!
Don't go to bliss if your goal is to "get away from it all."
Amazing Facials and Massage!.
Beautiful Spa! Ana is the best facialist I've had in this city. She took time to explain everything to me, did not push "add-ons" or products on me at all. Even the extraction process was quasi-pleasant :)
Space is a little small and the steam room is actually in the shower stall which was odd. Staff was pleasant and they had yummy snacks in the lounge area.
