Tragically Closed!!! – Was hands down my favorite bar. Amazing staff, amazing wine, amazing service. Still searching for another wine bar...
This place is CORKED!!! – It is no surprise that both NYC Vintage locations have closed and I take some pleasure in seeing it happen. If you ever encounter either of the owners you will experience two of the most egotistical and condescending people known to man. I have seen how they treat their employees, business associates and customers. What goes around comes around. Note to the owners: you are not fooling anyone. It is SO obvious that you write the good reviews. Respect is the ultimate currency. Do you even remember when you lost sight of that?
Vintage Chicks! – The ladies and I thought wed spoil ourselves with a night on the town, without the hubbies. As we strutted ourselves up the street we passed Vintage and thought we drop in. Its kind of trendy but we thought were still trendy in our old fashioned kinda way. Well let me tell you the afternoon brunch turned in to an evening of laughs, wine and nibblies. We had an amazing time and will be visiting there again real soon without the hubbies.... Thank you for the great afternoon/ evening !!
AWFUL. – Unless you want swarms of fruit flies and a couple of raging lunatic owners overseeing your event, I don't recommend this place. I caught a wierd vibe from the female owner when we called to discuss details, but figured I was being paranoid. I have hosted events all over NYC, and have yet to encounter anywhere as unprofessional as Vintage. The couple could be heard arguing loudly when I visited the space, and surely enough they were at it again the night of my event. Screaming obscenities during an event is insane.
The food was mediocre at best, and very sparse. I am a fan of the boutique NY wine industry, and wish that Vintage did a better job with such a beautiful idea.
Don't trust the good reviews. After speaking several times with the male owner and reading his write-ups around the store, I'm sure they're his.
Love Vintage! – Turks & Frogs is a really cozy, neighborhood lounge and wine bar in NY. Very nice selection of wines and tasty finger foods. There is a really nice vibe here and although I went with a friend, it would also be great for a date. Highly Recommended
Ruined our Private Event – If you want to just try a few wines...give this place a shot.
But you will be let down by the staff who are not attentive and also very rude.
Similar to another review here, they ruined our private event, with the promise of unlimited food and wine, but 30 mins into said the owner complained about the pace of drinking and eating.
I paid more than what we originally planned.
Only go here if you want over priced wine and a ruined party.
Great Local Wine and Cuisine – Our server, Matt, couldn't have been more friendly & perfectly selected wines according to our requests. The duck meatballs are succulent and melted in my mouth. Casual, yet sophisticated atmosphere. Tucked away on Broome street, off of the bustle of Broadway and free of the sometimes pretentious crowd that populates other Soho bars & restaurants. Friendly and timely service, and great background music! I would go back in a heartbeat.
good times, great wine – I really enjoyed this wine bar. I am not too familiar with NY wines, but my friendly server listened attentively to my tastes and made some great suggestions. I tried 4 or 5 red wines in all, all of which were very good (and a couple that were fantastic). I also ordered one of the cheese plates, and it was really good. The atmosphere was very pleasant and our server was excellent (Matt). We never had to wait long, and we never felt rushed. On the way out, I picked up a bottle to take home and I will definitely be coming back. Great wine and service, I highly recommend this place.
avoid sunday brunch – we should have walked out when we got there. the restaurant was empty - who knew i would have preferred a restaurant with a wait? it was a 20 degree day and the heat was not on - we had to wear our jackets the entire meal. next, the latte/cappuccino - half a cup, no froth and nothing even resembling espresso flavor. the regular coffee was equally horrendous. the entrees were mediocre at best. really disappointing!
Unique and reasonable food and wine experience – My wife and I had a wonderful after-work snack/dinner and wine tasting there last week.
Our hostess was very helpful and knowledgeable. My wife has a gluten allergy and our hostess had some suggestions and also checked with the kitchen for certain items we were interested in. The space is very modern and a bit tight, but still comfortable and quaint. Food: Duck meatballs were outstanding. Curried Cauliflower was really aromatic. House smoked wild salmon was delicious with a lovely sauce. Cheese plate had lovely artisanal varieties and the olives were fresh and came with lots of roasted garlic. Wine: we had 3 flights each, providing a wide variety of tastings from white to red. Some were hits, some not, but none were bad. It?s purely subjective. We took notes, and strove to take the tastings seriously and it was a blast. We paired the various wines with the different foods and some combos were heavenly. Small tastings and portions were appreciated as we did not get too full or ?happy?. Highly recommended for couples or small groups.
