generous pours, friendly staff – I love Vintage. It's a very cool, unpretentious place to try wines that you normally wouldn't. Skp the Itlalian and French wines, and drink a delectable New York Sauvignon blanc or a rich New York Cabernet Sauvignon. The food is good, not heavy, and with enough choices to make it interesting. And I find it to be quite affordable for the Soho location. The waitstaff is also very generous with the pours, there are no skimpy quarter full glasses. Overall, just a nice, chill place to get some good wine and snack on tasty small plates. The lighting and cool paintings also make the ambiance really laidback and nice. Overall, just a place I really enjoy.

Huge Rip Off: Private Event – I paid a few thousand dollars to host an event here. It was around 50/head for passed hors d'oevres/wine tasting. They did not deliver what we paid for -- they barely came out with any food and they had one pourer behind the bar. The event contact was really hard to get answers from too... never getting back to us. And she scheduled another event just minutes after ours -- embarassed, we had to shoo our guests out the door. Don't plan your party here... you do not get even close to what you paid for. FYI - the pictures on the website are not what you end up seeing either.

Nice wine, and you can always get a bottle – A friend and I dropped in to Wine Bar because the waitstaff's tight t-shirts worked well on them. But, I've come back again and again for the wine.

It's not all great wine, but it's all New York wine, and the experience is built around engaging it. The racks are in the room with you, and several tasting flights are available. It's in one of these that I discovered the Pindar Pythagorus, which quickly became my favorite wine. Furthermore, Wine Bar is attached to Vintage, and you can buy any wine by the bottle.

I love the ambience. The room is well-lit, and the appointments are spare. There's a nice loft area where you can overlook the wine store itself.

My girlfriend feels she has fully explored the menu, and doesn't think it's varied or expansive enough. The food's nice, though, and served relatively quickly.

What a waste! – Overpriced mediocre wine ($9 for a glass of something you can get a bottle of for $15)paired with food that sounds high quality until you've tasted it. Much of the wine tastes like its been open too long. The staff is friendly and helpfu, but that may be because you can glimpse them sipping the main product whenever they're not serving tables. Lighting is kept dim, probably so you can't see the lipstick and waterspots on serving glasses and while occastionally lively jazz is played, the music is usually morbid ballads that makes one think of a funeral versus a fun wine bar. If you want some NY wine, buy a bottle from the store and move on...there are better places to sit and drink than this newly opened winebar.

SoHo shop dedicated to New York vineyards expands with an unusual wine bar suited for sampling. – The Scene
This airy space abandons the cozy wine bar formula for a simple, functional style. The light wood tables, clean-lined banquettes and metal-mesh tower of wine all recall Swedish design--ideal for studying the "Big List's" 200 bottles. Groups interested in learning come to survey the region's grapes, while post-shopping-spree couples get comfortable in the upstairs loft which overlooks browsers in the parent store. Helpful servers make selection unintimidating, recommending bottles based on moods or palettes.

The Draw
Chalkboard specials and a handy menu--with arrows pointing glasses to their perfect appetizer pairing--prepare patrons for their classroom-like lesson in local wines. To get a taste worthy of the selection--spanning meads to iced wines, from the Hudson River to the Finger Lakes--try one of the dozen flights contrasting same-grape varietals. The Sauvignon Blanc trio compares Long Island vineyards, while the robust red blend triplet pits table wine Pindar Pythagoras beside powerful Macari Bergen Road.
