The bar John Colins is an old standby. It's like the friend you don't see to often, but always know he's there for you, unchanged. The scene is best during after work happy hour.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Forced to move from its popular original location by the Transbay Terminal, John Colins got lucky---putting it lightly--with its new space on Minna a block away. Inside the door, there's a huge lounge space, with the bar in the back under soaring ceilings and surrounded by giant ferns and towering La Raza-themed paintings. The usual happy, happy hour crowd is here from 5pm on, as are JC's signature simple, well-priced drinks. So for the many who bemoaned the closure of the original bar, fret not: the new space is bigger and better than the original, and the vibe--and the awesome $1 off everything happy hour--is thankfully the same.

My advice, go some place else, here is why – We were asked to wait outside, we were told that there was an over capacity issue, which we understood. While waiting for a long time other people were let inside just fine. I've live in San Francisco for many years and I have not seen this discriminatory behavir in a long time except this one.

Great Happy Hour – John and Collin are fun, outgoing bartenders who know how to run a business. I see all kinds of people in here for happy hour every week, and I keep coming back. They keep it real and change it up. Last thursday they were doing some kind of promotion for a new sake drink infused with fruit flavors, Sake2me. It was new and refreshing, and I actually went on line to see where I could buy it for my next get-together at home. I fully recommend checking this place out and maybe even finding a new cocktail or sake drink while you're at it.

Must Visit! – We LOVE John Colins. I have been there thre times, the latest with a group and every time has been consistently fun. The atmosphere is terrific and the music at a perfect level for visiting and meeting new people. The bartenders are cute, fun and constantly smiling. A definate must visit after work or late night.

Like no other – I trully love this place! Everytime I go in the vibe is great. The bartendars are friendly and make you feel like they are genuine. The music is loud at times, but not to the point where you can't talk or be heard.

Over all you need to stop by and try them!

Below Average – Very small and nosiy bar. It is impossible to talk there, so don;t go there for a first date or something. There is parking by the bar. We went to there on Friday noght and it was flat fee after 5:30. So parking was easy and affordable. The parking attendent was already gone when we left about 1:00 am so we didin't pay for parking anyways.

My New Favorite Place!!!!! – Heard about this place through friends. Finally made it out anf I LOVE IT! The bartenders are fabulous and make you feel right at home. The music is great, drinks are delish, and happy hour definitely a plus. They have definitely created a cool place to hang out after work.

The Bloody Mary here is like a meal – Very tasty though. Good happy hour, kinda loud sometimes, but that's ok with me. Dark wood and leather, funny paintings hung up. For some reason, cute bartenders last time I was there. It's definitely kinda yuppy, but after a few drinks, everyone became friends no matter what their scene was. I really don't care anyways.

sardine slicksters – meaning the crowd is pretty smooth, but packed in tight last couple times i was there (after work). given that it's a tad noisy, but have to give that up for the energy of the place
