Looks like it's designed to rip off tourists – This card may sound like a good deal, but it really isn't.
Right now, it's *on sale* for $114 per adult for a three-day period. While this includes, as the website mentions, 28 attractions, you would have to go to about 2-3 attractions EACH DAY to just *break even* on this card, which would be pretty difficult to do.
Let's say you wanted to go to the following attractions, which are some of the most popular in Chicago: Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Navy Pier (free attraction, but card includes 3-4 rides), Lincoln Park Zoo (also a free attraction, but card includes a carousel ride), Shedd Aquarium , and Sears/Willis Tower. That's quite a bit to fit into a three-day period, but even if you managed it, it would actually be CHEAPER to buy your tickets a la carte than to buy this card. Also, if you look at the fine-print for each attraction, it doesn't include the top-tier admission, so you may end up shelling out more money to do the things you want.
So, before buying this card, REALLY look at it. Figure out which attractions you'd want to go to, find out how long it usually takes to go through them, plan how many days it will take, and then compare a la carte prices to the cost of this card. You'll probably find it cheaper to buy the tickets to the attractions online and just enjoy them at your leisure.
these are great for attractions – i used the go boston card for my vacation, but i just bought a go chicago card for when i go there this summer. this is a great product, lots of attractions and for a lot less than you would pay for each one. I think the best part is having everything already paid upfront.
Editorial Review – All-inclusive ticket provides Chicago visitors unlimited access to numerous attractions and discounts on shops and restaurants for one price.
