Once the home to the first Oreo cookie, this converted Nabisco factory is now the home to lavish chandeliers, candlelit private booths and decadent Asian cuisine. Bring a party of 50 or that one special friend. The black cod is stupid good.

Yes, it's the very picture of a "big box" restaurant, with oversized rooms, vast ceilings, and a decor that seems more appropriate to a James Bond villain than to a fine restaurant. But you know what? The food is much better than it has any right to be, and the experience is always fun.

Awesome fusion: Asian cooking meets tapas: the edamame dumplings are a thing of beauty and the resturant itself is quite the spectacle!

Buddakan was great experience and most tasty fusion food. Everything was delicious down to the dessert. The only thing was that it was a bit pricey. Which was ok for special occasion

yuuuuum! – Pricey, very delicious! Served family style made it even better for our large group. We even had left overs! Service was as good as it gets in NY. I highly recommend Buddakan!

Loved it – Wow, what a beautiful place in the MP district. Had dinner here with my wife. Not too loud, great food, excellent service. A little pricey but hey it's NYC!

A place for special occasions – I took my girlfriend to Buddakan last week on her 30th birthday. The place is expensive but nice. We had a good time.

Whoa, talk about new age Asian – Amazing food for very high price. Ive tried more or less everything on the menu and I have to say the only thing I genuinely didn't enjoy were edamame dumplings, everything else is delicious.

Amazing food and atmosphere – Had dinner there last night and it exceeded my expectations in every way. As soon as you enter the building, you are greeted by very friendly hosts and a very spacious lounge where they serve great before dinner drinks. The dinning room which is one level bellow has amazing atmosphere with modern Asian decor as well as huge murals on the walls. The food is served family style and is awesome... we tried several courses from the menu and everything was just wonderful... everything from the Crispy Fish to the Chicken dumplings.

This one is definitely a keeper and I will be visiting again, hopefully soon.

Great ambience, OK food – The one place this one would directly get compared with is Spice Market, being in the same neighborhood, at the same price point and with the same kind of food.

So lets look at the positives first. The ambience is stunning. From the sexy lighting, to the ridiculously large dining table in the middle, to the sheer luxuriousness of the space, the overall effect is mind-blowing. The service is not bad, but feels a bit formal.

Now on to the food: We went with a group of about 12 to celebrate a couple of birthdays. They were able to adjust the portion size to accomodate the size of the party, which was excellent. There were also enough veggie options for the 2-3 veggies so that was nice. The beverage list was also extensive. However, the food was (for the lack of a better word), flat. We ordered about 6-7 apps for the table including frog legs, some dim sum, and some mostly warm appetizers followed by another 5-6 entrees. Most of them were well prepared and quite satisfactory but none really stood out. The flavors weren't as bold as you would associate with fusion Asian. This is where Spice Market wins without any shadow of a doubt.

It is probably worth going once for the experience, but I don't think we'd be returning. We'd either go to Spice Market or try out a new restaurant rather than heading back to Buddakan.

Birthday Celebration – It was our daughter's Birthday and it could have started off on the wrong foot. Thanks to the wonderful staff at the restaurant we could not have had a more pleasant evening. We originally were placed in the grand dinning room of which we were told would be a bit noisy, we asked to be switched to the red room..."mistake" too noisy and not a setting for a birthday celebration for 4 persons...Then we had our drinks brought to our table and the waitress placed the champaign glass down and it spilled all over the top of the table and a bit on my daughters dress...I knew I was in the wrong room..I excused myself and found the manager that helped us with the move and expressed my grave dislike for this room and what had just occurred with the drink. I told him that I would like to go back downstairs and he made it happen. We were very pleased and ready to order our food. We had a headache by this time and we asked for some Tylenol or Aspirin...They bought it to the table immediately and if that was not enough they went

out of their way to provide us with Aleeve as they overheard us saying that this would be the quickest remedy. Wow!!! talk about sensitive to their clients needs and service....5**** The waiter was the greatest, he stepped us through the ordering and the recommendations were amazing..Duck Spring Rolls, Edemami dumplings, .Peking Duck, Mongolian Lamb Chops, Lobster Fried Rice, Vegetables...It was delicious!!! Then they brought over dessert for the table of which one dish included a candle for our wishes.

As we ended our evening and it was certainly crowded by then...I looked for the manager to thank him once again for making our evening so wonderful...I asked one of the wait staff if they could locate him and they immediately told me that he would meet me at the front

of the restaurant...Sure enough as we got upstairs and made our way to the door, he was right there...I shook

his hand and thanked him so very much...

5 Star Experience!!!
