The most ambitious, elaborate, and expensive of the Mario Batali group of restaurants, Del Posto offers superb food, wine, and service, but there's no question that the room's size and formality are more than a little intimidating. It looks, and feels, like nothing so much as the main dining room of a vintage ocean liner. Eating at the bar is the way to go here.
Amaze amaze amaze! – My bf took me here for my birthday. Everything was PERFECT. The decor is chic. Every one of the people on the floor can answer any question about any menu item. So impressive.
We had the rib eye for two and there are just no words to describe how fantastic this place is. 100% delightful!
Worth it! – Del Posto is a great place to dine with. The staffs were well organized and very attentive to details. Their service was over the top.
Their food was very satisfying and very delicious. Really had a good taste of food and the price is very much worth it.
Lovely! – The Best restaurant experience we have had! We went for my husbands birthday - wonderful atmosphere, service, food and wine! Will return!
Batali's comments are insensitive and hurtful – I can't believe Batali is comparing bankers to Hitler and Stalin. Agree with the previous post that it is completely insensitive. Why can't he just stick to making food? I can only assume that if he is busy attending conferences and media events offering his political views he is definitely not paying attention to his businesses and the quality of his food. Given this, and the insensitivity he recently displayed in comparing bankers to Hitler, I will no longer eat at his restaurants and will encourage others to do the same.
Del Posto has gone downhill a bit over the years – For the money, one expects the highest quality of ingredients, preparation, presentation, service and decor.
The decor is still very nice.
The service sometimes has 'attitude', and the quality has definitely gone downhill.
Although i used to go regularly, I now prefer other spots.
Boycott Mario Batali Restaurants – Mario Batali's recent comment comparing bankers to Hitler and Stalin are downright disgusting and irresponsible (reference at bottom of review). While there are many views on bankers during these challenging times, his references to such dictators who executed many people for their religion and / or beliefs is hurtful and ignorant. I do not believe it is in this world's best interest to support him or his restaurants given his most recent comments.

Romantic moment – Del Posto is such a romantic place for having a good moment with your partner. They are so quickly with the service and also the entrees are so nice
My review – Del Posto has been opened for awhile now. I finally got to try it when I was there for a friend's birthday. The service was mediocre but the food was phenomenal. Definitely try the risotto.
Amazing birthday dinner – My boyfriend took me here for my birthday last month, and it is the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been to. We had a seat on the second floor, on a balcony over looking the entire restaturant.
There was a pianist on the first floor who played for about 30 min during the 1 1/2 hours we were there.
While we waited for our table, we had a mai tai from the bar. I am definitey not a drinker, and I have never had one before, but this was so yummy, I had 2! I really had to stop myself from ordering another.
Upon being seated we were given a taste of risotto, compliments of he chef. The warm bread they served was so good, they actually had to refill it for us, because we ate it all!
Our waitor was so sweet and helpful. he suggested the 5 course tasting, and it was utterly amazing. The only thing I didn't like was the pasta that was made with a red wine sauce (it was SUPER sweet). Other than that, the food was to die for. We had the prime rib, and it was on par if not better than the porterhouse we usually get at Burton & Doyle's.
The manager came by and gave us complimentary glasses of wine when he found out it was our first time there - nice touch.
I was upset when we still had a couple of courses to go, and I was already stuffed!
Our waiter was nice enough to pack 2 desserts for us, since I couldn't eat another bite.
We will DEFINITELY be back.
