TMC is a wonderful, convenient resource for new moms and moms-to-be. I discovered them in the second trimester of my first pregnancy, and they have helped me every step of the way!
The support group is a great place to go when just starting to get out with baby, and the other moms and facilitator, Meredith, are so helpful!
I had a prenatal massage; it was really relaxing and easy to schedule!
Renee, the lactation consultant, came to my house when I had just gotten home from the hospital and was having some struggles breast feeding. She was patient, nurturing, and understanding. She even followed up with me to be sure everything was going ok and answered my questions.
The retail portion is so convenient! The selection is small, but they only stock the best and most used products.
They have everything you need to make motherhood a little easier!
We have tried out the motherhood centers babysitter services a few times and they are just outright AWFUL! One night the sitter never showed up when we were suppose to be at our son's kindergarten recital - and then tonight, 40 minutes before our sitter was suppose to be here, I receive a call saying they are still trying to find us a babysitter. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone and I really think they have a lot of work to do in this department.
From Pregnancy to Parenthood The Motherhood Center is Be – Pregnancy Massage, Pregnancy Yoga, Children's classes. Spa Packages, Children's retail, Babysitters, Full Nanny Service, The Motherhood Center truly is a one stop shop for all your needs from pregnancy through Motherhood. I am delighted with the services they offer. I would recommend them to everyone
Truly an amazing place – It is impossible to express my heartfelt gratitude and excitement about The Motherhood Center. This place is truly a jewel to any expectant mom and I've recommended their services as many people as I can.
I took advantage of 2 classes (Newborn Care and Delivery). Both were very professional, taught by experts, with helpful workbooks provided. The yoga classes were AMAZING as are the pre-natal massages. I also rented a breast pump, and took advantage of their postpartum nursing services. All of which were wonderful! However, I have to say my favorite by far was the labor doula, Kathy. When I first considered natural childbirth, most thought I was crazy, and hadn't given it much thought until I had a meeting with Kathy. She was a guide to me throughout my pregnancy, and when it came time to deliver, she was with me the entire way. I couldn't have done it without her or The Motherhood Center.
TMC is truly a unique place. It doesn't specialize in retail (as one other poster mentioned), although they have a great selection of really unique baby items. The purpose of TMC is make your pregnancy and baby as special of an experience as it can possibly be. Whether you use TMC for education, relaxation, or labor and delivery, you will not be disappointed. Not only did TMC open my eyes to all the wonderful experiences to be had with parenthood, but it truly made me a better mother!!!!
Great massages, yoga, and kids' classes – I'm suprised by some of the negative reviews, though it appears they are almost exclusively related to the nanny placement service, which I have not used.
I started going to The Motherhood Center when I was pregnant - I went to prenatal yoga and also got massages from Jane. The yoga classes were great and I went throughout my pregnancy. Jane is an AMAZING massage therapist and really helped me out with the aches & pains that inevitably come with pregnancy. She's so wonderful that I still go to her now, well post-baby!!
My daughter has been taking Prelude Music classes with Anna for several months, and we've both really enjoyed it. Anna is a great teacher and the classes are always fun - it's amazing what kids get out of it, even when they're small. As a bonus, I got to meet other moms, and my daughter made friends in class.
Bottom line, I have had nothing but good experiences with TMC, and I would recommend it to expectant moms or moms with young children.
CREDIT CARD THIEVES!!!! – I loved the motherhood center. Enjoyed receiving prenatal massage. Had one schedule the week I was due to have my son. While I was in the hospital having my child I missed the appointment, I never received a call from them and the promptly charged my Bank Visa $90.00. When I called to have this refunded I was told this was their policy period. For a place that is supposed to be supportive of new moms and understanding of what a new mom goes through, you would think this might have been an exception to their policy. I will NEVER go back and will NEVER refer another friend to this place. I will sing their disgraces to any and everyone who will listen!!!!!
As the owners of TMC we find reviews of this nature very disheartening. We do make it a point to be VERY supportive of our expecting mom's and go above and beyond to be as fair as we possibly can. This clients was well aware of our policy when she gave us her info and we still offered to refund her money and take the loss and pay her therapist if should could of provided us with proof of her absence. Unfortunately her story changed and she was unable to do so.
A heaven for new mothers – This place is a heaven for new mothers. Gabriela, the owner has created a one of a kind place that takes care of ALL of your needs. My OB recommended them when I was 6 weeks pregnant and I immediately went and began with doing their prenatal yoga class. Margie was the best and very well versed in teaching me the techniques of prenatal yoga, something I hope to continue for the rest of my life. Ryan and I are now going to the Mommy and me classes. Next i started using their spa and and getting the best massages from Jane on a regular basis. What a great relief for my lower back pain and a little bit of a reward to myself. Jeff and I took all of our classes there: child birth, newborn care, breastfeeding and CPR. Annie the photographer is amazing.. we did a "belly" photo shoot and later she did our birth annoucements. We have all ready scheduled our 4 mo. old session with Ryan and i can't wait. But best of all was our baby nurse Tricia. I cannot say enough of how wonderful she and Gabriela were in helping Jeff and I with bring Ryan into our home. Everything from breastfeeding to sleep sceduling and she was even a great cook! Very sad to have seen her go. She was like part of our family. We are now working with their nanny dept. to locate the perfect nanny for us. Like I said this place was like heaven for us and I can't thank Gabriela and her entire staff enough for what they have created. Thank You!
Best Place for Any Mom – I have had a wonderful experience going to The Motherhood Center. They can take care of all of your prenatal needs from breastfeeding to educational classes to prenatal exercise. The baby nurse service they provide is unmatched. Gabriela, the owner of the center, personally handles placing the doulas with each client. She is always reachable and provides outstanding service. I have a toddler as well and I can take her there for children's classes. The Prelude Music program is awesome as well as their ballet classes. It is the only place I have ever been to that can service all of your needs at one location. You can have a massage, get your pictures taken, get a nanny and so much more!! I would recommend that any pregnant mom or ANY mom visit The Motherhood Center.
An excellent place to start the adventure of motherhood – When I first found out that I was pregnant I started looking for a place to take prenatal yoga and a community of other mothers-to-be. I did some research online and found the Motherhood Center and after my first visit I discovered that I needn't look any further.
The facility has a friendly, relaxed spa-like atmosphere which I felt a part of immediately. I have taken a number of yoga classes with the different instructors and each one was a positive and unique experience. I'm sure that a woman at any stage of pregnancy or level of fitness would be able to find a perfect fit in one or more of the classes. I would surly recommend the Motherhood Center as an excellent place to start the adventure of Motherhood.
Love the Motherhood Center!!! – I love The Motherhood Center! I have been on bed rest for most of my pregnancy so when I get the chance to go somewhere I want to make it worth my time. From the moment I walked in the door, I was in awe of all the services they have to offer. Gabriella, the owner, took the time to speak with me to make sure all of my needs were being met. You can tell each empolyee was hand picked. Ana was great at getting me the correct nursing bras and making sure I had all my questions answered. Brandie has also been a blessing by coming to my house weekly to give me massages. I would be in true pain without her. After I have my baby I plan on using there lactation services as well as there classes to help me get back in shape. If you are expecting a baby this is a great place to visit.
