Only worth it if you have an "IN" – My best friend was the promoter and I still had an issue because someone on their end messed up and didn't know what was going on. In the midst of all this, all the female employees decided to have an attitude for no reason. Thankfully the bouncers let us (2 girls) hang out by the door while everything was getting sorted out because it was raining that night. Once inside, the decor is nice and the music is decent, but its slightly L-shaped so there isn't really a good spot to dance. There is NO seating unless you have bottle service. Everyone seems nicer next door at HOME.
Lu Hefner rocked Guest Home – Rapper Lu Hefner took command of the mic and crowd. The place was packed, security did a good job searching patrons this night. Lu Hefner is as good as he was the last time I heard him perform in Staten Island. I'm glad Guest House booked him, I missed the date at home. I and my group enjoyed ourself this night. Keep up the good talent. Lu Hefner Good job.
Are you kidding me?? – i see this club featured constantly on several websites...the review of this place is so off, there are no gorgeous people. check out 7days7nights and youknowyoudeadazzwrong dot com websites and look at how many skanky, fat, underdressed women get in. and the dudes are cornball as hell. i visited a month ago because i just had to see if it was as bad as people said and guess what...it was WORSE. i will never again visit and will warn anyone else about it that asks.
Different Music - New DJ at Guest House - – Guest House has a new DJ, no more House!
The music is now Hip Hop, 80's and R&B.
It is a great club with a selective door policy...
Try to get in touch with a promoter, to avoid the wait in line. You can also meet Marion and Vero at 11.30 sharp on Saturdays. They will walk you in vip/no cover.
You can text Marion at 917 557 5787 if you need any help with your group or a for table reservation.
the CORRECT know before you go... – I dont know why the "Insider tips: Know before you go" section says there's no cover charge because they asked for $25 at the door! And the people at the door ARE rude, particularly the women! Soo irritating!!
ONE OF NYC BEST CLUBS IDK WHAT THESE OTHER PEOPLE TAKING ABOUT AND YES DIDDY WOULD HAVE A PARTY HERE FAB JEEZY NEYO AND OTHERS FREQUNTLY PARTY HERE. NEVER HAD TO WAIT LOG IN LINE DRINKS AND BOTTLE SERVICE ON POINT LOVELY CROWD OF BEAUTIFUL FEMALES
Molested – Tranny at door feels every girl's chest extra long. They mistook contact lenses for "diluted eyes".None of my friends had been drinking or high yet the tranny kept pushing us and screaming at us. Screaming at people and treating them like dogs, wow you're so cool what a job you have standing at the door . It's a joke to get in the whole place is a joke. So if you like black people feeling you up and screaming at you here's the place to go. I left after 60 seconds got my money back.
Guest house does everything except provide hospitable serivce to their guests. – I should have taken heed to the numerous bad reviews that I read before attending. But I didnt! So my friend was having a birthday party and we all were handed tix to "supposedly" get in free and skip the line, and we would also recieve a comp bottle of champagne(LOOK at WEB page, and having your party there). So we get to the line and automatically they tell us birthday boy can only bring one guest in with him to skip the line.Us girls were forced to the back of the line standing alongside the males who were supposed to be free untill 11:00.Good old guest house with their admirable service politely held the line until after 11:00 so that all men would HAVE to pay. Then they only let females in 2 at a time. They tried to charge one of our female guests 40.00 to get in even though the tix said ladies free all night, and men were getting in for 20.00.Then another friend gave the bouncer a 100.00 to move to the front which he politely did but then proceeded to charge them 30.00a piece to get in on top of the "tip" Once inside the time did not get much better.Drinks were outrageously priced at 15.00 the glasess they were poured in smelled like a wet mop etc.So we get inside thinking that we will have an area to chill in b/c we had set up a party.well so did everyone else inside the club.Once we finally found somewhere to sit we were rudely being pushed out of the way b/c someone purchased a bottle at 600.00$ and were getting "special treatment" but mind you there was a whole area that was sectioned off for people recieveing bottle service. The only good thing abou the whole night was funk flex. And did i mention we never recieved our complimentary bottle or hostess.A bunch of lies to wheel you and your friends in.The club is full of rude bartenders, rude doormen, and rude managers. After seeing the club on MTV I was confused at the way the club actually looked. Their is no way Diddy would ever ever hang out in a club like this. Dont be fooled out of your money or your time.
Guest House Flop.. – I went to Guest House last night 9/18/08...
It was my first time there... Lets just say that this was the worst experience ever.. Not only were the event coordinators a hot mess as far as organization, but the bouncers were really rude and nasty... Very disrespectful..... Even the bathroom attendant was rude....this is one club that i would never return 2...
Agreed with NikkiRay and my fellow Texan below completely! – I wanted to try something different than Pink Elephant/Butter this time around on my most recent visit to NYC so Home ended up being the next random selection. I don't consider myself to be an elitist or anything bc I hang out at just about type of venue there is. I was just in the mood to try something a little more "upscale" at a venue playing a mix of house, old school hip-hop, etc. Though Home was once advertised in that category of lounge/clubs, I learned otherwise the hard way.
The music selection was all early 2000s Top 40 R&B (not bad but I can hear that on my mp3 player) and the music from the neigboring Guest House was even worse....current Top 40 hip-hop/pop. If I am going to bring my A-game in terms of chic attire and open-minded approach about shelling money out, then I better A) listen to more innovative/eclectic tracks, B) be surrounded with a more selective clientele/higher and experience a higher girl to guy ratio, C) be around more upscale people who appreciate the same things I do for the money. (I know B/C are repetitious but I'm just frustrated)
NikkiRay deemed it accurately when bouncers made it harder for groups of attractive women to be admitted while letting all these other under-dressed grease bags in. Apparently, the ridiculous women at this venue tend to be attracted to all of these creepers so it works out for the majority of this place.
I would've actually saved money paying a cover charge at Pink Elephant while having my desired senses satisfied moreso but I just had to try something different for once (I can't stress the higher girl to guy ratio thing at PE compared to this junk hole). Loved the music at Butter but it is indeed overhyped. I wonder what the next "upscale tough door" venue will bring on my next business trip to NYC come January.
