Tips for Amai Day Spa

March 04, 2013

What a wonderful experience! I went here with my mother and mother-in-law for a little baby shower celebration, and right from the start we were treated like royalty. We were all able to do a fantastic spa pedicure in the same room with three lovely, funny ladies, and from there we moved on to a scrumptious spa lunch provided by a nearby cafe. Afterwards we headed to individual rooms for luxurious facials (again, with such helpful, friendly, and clearly well-trained staff), only to finish with lovely manicures. We had such a fabulous time, and the price point and location from Seattle are incredibly reasonable. We will definitely be coming back again and again!

AVOID THIS SPA AT ALL COSTS!!!! Owner does not honor her commitment and exudes unprofessionalism on every front!

I purchased a $150. day spa treament (good for $300, worth of services!) through Groupon a number of months ago and called today to book my spa date; I was excited to use it after months of dieting (and almost reaching my goal weight)!!! The Groupon expires in exactly two weeks. I was told the spa was fully booked through that time and the Groupon value of $300. would NO LONGER be honored; instead, I could apply the face value of the coupon ($150) towards spa services. I was very surprised and told the owner that I had waited until this time since I was dieting and had counted on using it as it had been purchased, for $300. worth of services, not $150. No luck. She told me "everyone has a story and everyone has waited until the last minute to call in and use the coupon." I asked her if she would consider allowing me to use the spa services after the expiration date since I was calling two weeks in advance. No deal. I told her I felt this was poor business on her part, I was a new client and had looked forward to trying the spa. I also told her I felt this was very unprofessional. She then HUNG UP ON ME!!! Ubelievable!!!! I waited five minutes and called back to get her name, she told me (indignantly!) that she was the owner and I could not go over her head regarding this!!! I was completely shocked by her manner and told her I had never had a business owner hang up on me, EVER!!! She said I was "nasty" for calling her unprofessional. Again, there was no option of using the Groupon for the services promised. I will take this up with Groupon. As I told the owner (Jamie) today, I will let others know of my experience (or NON-experience) with Amai Day Spa. I'm a busy working mother and wife and had looked forward to trying Amai Day Spa. However, the owner's lack of integrity and unprofessionalism is beyond anything I've experienced with a small business. There are many day spas in the area, it's a simple choice to take my business elsewhere. If you purchased the Groupon like I did and haven't used it, be forewarned. Maybe she will change her tune and extend the date of services. As for me, I will take up the issue with Groupon and will choose to frequent businesses that treat clients with honesty, integrity, and professionalim!!!

queen for a day. My daughter and I have come here many times under the old management. I came in with a gift certificate recently and had the best nail experience ever. I love the atmosphere, great tea, expert services. We will be coming back again for our mother-daughter times to be pampered!

Best Day Spa in Bothell!. This day spa in the beautiful Bothell Country Village is a must go to! I have been going for over 2 years for massages and lately pedicures (Erika and Koko) and must say they are the best I have ever had. I always look forward to my monthly trips there, can almost alwasy get the day and time I am hoping for, and the staff is most friendly and knowledgable. You must give this spa a try! I hope you love it as much as I do. I feel completely renewed when I come out of there!

Amai Day Spa is a fav. I have been going to this spa for many years & have NEVER been disappointed in any way. The staff is always very helpful in finding the right deal for me & I always get an appointment when I want one. Often the same day I call & even weekends. So Nice! I get excited when I get my monthly specials email & try to work in time to go. I would, and do, recommend this spa to anyone. Prices are very reasonable. People are great! I would be devastated if I had to find another spa to go to. It's my favorite "spoil Me" place. I love love my scrub packages and pedicures.

What a great spa!!!!. I've been going to Amai for over 4 years and have had many massages, facials, waxes, pedicures, manicures, and body wraps/scrubs and have never had a bad experience. I love Amai, the staff is always friendly, the spa always clean, and it is always easy to get an appointment.. I've probably spent over $1500 on services there, I don't regret a spending a cent, and will continue to patronize Amai's fantastic treatments

don't go here. I went for a brow wax and left with one good looking brow and one "spock" (star trek - see pic above of each brow) brow. I know that people make mistakes, but the what was worse than leaving with a huge bald spot in my brow, was that the person who did it was clinging to this story that I had a pre-existing bald spot and that by innocently removing the hairs below it, those hairs uncovered my bald spot. She totally had me convinced and then encouraged me to fix it (the problem she created but was passing off as a pre-existing bald spot) by buying a brow pencil from them and filling in the bald spot. It took me a whole drive home to realize that the likelihood that I've had a eye brow bald spot and didn't know it before then was a lot lower than her making a mistake. I called the next day asked for my money back. They gave me my money back but completely ignored the fact that she didn't just own up to it. The manager acted like I was the weird one for leaving without saying anything and like it was normal for someone to lie about how it happened. I won't be going back, that is for sure.

I am so sorry that we didn't do enough to rectify the situation for you. At the time, we did feel that a full refund (including the gratuity you left to the technician) as well as an apology, and having a discussion with the technician about the incident was an appropriate response. If you feel that there is something else we can do, pleae contact us and we'll be happy to consider it.

Amai Day Spa. I have received a few facials from Kasie and highly recommend her. She has a wonderful touch and is very knowledgable. Amai Day Spa also has a wonderful product line. I left looking 10 years younger.

Amai Day Spa. This spa is the best I have ever been to.

I spent this past sunday there getting a 90 minute facial with steam, mud and extraction including face/head massage and parafin wax treatment on my hands and feet. I was so pampered.

Then I had lunch! Artichoke and spinache quiche with a wonderful salad, lots of water and teas to add to my relaxing day.

Then off to look at makeup there to try for my oily face and large pores, they tried a few on me and picked the best one, then did my face up with it. Amazing! I'm so happy with the makeup I purchased AND the serum for my pores. It was such a nice experience to have someone help pick out what I needed.

Best of all? The 2 hour body massage I got. Totally wonderful!~

I can't wait to go back next month and buy a membership for massages and try another facial.

If you want to be pampered, relaxed and feel totally accepted, Amai is the place for you!
