We were harrassed throughout the dinner – It was a busy evening for the restaurant. We came early at around 6:30pm and got a table right away. From there on we were harrassed by all the restaurant staff, from the manager down to the waitress to quickly order, quickly eat and quickly leave. The manager told us that if we did not order within 5 to 10 minutes they would have to move us out of that table - this was just 5 minutes after we sat down! In the middle of eating our deserts they kept asking if we were finished. As soon as we stood up, they started clearing the table, before we even picked up our purses and bags. This was a very stressful dinner. The food was nothing to rave about. They are there to make money, they do not care about their clients having a lovely meal or not. The location of the restaurant is really good and they have a very nice outside seating area - it is a shame that it is so mismanaged.

Excellent Italian Food, Location & Prices. – I'm not an employee or share holder of this restaurant but a very satisfied repeat customer. You will not regret your experience at Villagio, when the wife and i go i have the Grouper about $18 it is the best tasting large portion well priced fish you will have in a top notch Gables location. My rating is a 4.5 but not available so i used the 4 rating. Parking is readily available at the meters or valet if you wish.

ambience lovely – Lovely ambience. Food is ok. Fettucini alfredo and ceaser salad. Prices are very reasonable in relationship to everything else around.

This is a fantastic place. – As a Coral Gables resident I visit Villagio often. Like other posters have mentioned, this is a family friendly place. I have sampled just about everything on their menu and I enjoyed them all. I can't vouch for the wine and wine prices as I'm not a big wine drinker.

Yes the bar area does have the appearance of a sports bar however, the crowd is definetly upscale. If you want cheap beer and to watch sports, cross the courtyard where you will find the Yardhouse.

As you read the negative reviews, bear in mind as with all reviews, people are more inclined to write a bad review than to spend the time to write a good review.

Cheers.

Great Restaurant – I couldn't believe what I was reading so I had to take the time to refute these bad posts. Villagio is a delicious Italian restaurant with great prices. I work close by, so I eat there regularly and I've never had a bad experience. The place is always packed so they have to be doing something right. I would not go there for Italian charm and romance - but the setting outside in Merrick Park is beautiful - one of the better outdoor restaurants. I find the bad posts on here hard to believe. I have no connection to the restaurant - just think it's not fair to give this place a bad wrap. This is a great inexpensive enjoyable place, very family friendly.

horrible food and worse service – There was a hair in my food. The chicken was overcooked and the service was terrible. The manager of the night did nothing to make it right and his comment was no one in the kitchen has long hair. Do your self a favor and stay away from this restaurant!!!!! IT IS DISGUSTING TO FIND HAIR IN YOUR FOOD AND THE PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS FOR HORRIBLE FOOD

WORSE RESTAURANT – THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING AND HORRIBLE I COULDNT BELEIVE WHAT I WAS TRYING IT FELT LIKE I WAS EATING GARBAGE. I FOUND A HAIR IN MY FOOD. THE SERVICE WAS BAD, THE WAITRESS DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH AND DID NOT TRY TO FIND A WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITH US. SHE TOOK 45 MINUTES TO ATTEND US AND APART FROM THAT NOBODY WOULD, THE MANAGER DID NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON A HORRIBLE RESTAURANT JUST LIKE VILAGGIO....!!!!!!!! :(

Sotto La Media (The Below Average) – We went on a Sunday as a party of 4. The ambience was quite loud, and the indoor dining area was a single open space. The "look" was a mix of sports bar and an Italian cafeteria. The place is indeed "kid friendly", but it is far from romantic. Service was very slow, and conflicting menu information came from our regular waiter and the wine steward (who acted as a secondary waiter). The complimentary bread was fresh, albeit flavorless; the crust was VERY tough. The food was average; that it, it was not bad , though there was NOTHING memorable about it. The marinated sea bass was marinated in something that removed all flavor. The veal was good. The two appetizer soups were good (pasta fagioli) and almost bad (cream of artichoke). The prices were OUTRAGEOUS: $151 for entrees and a bottle of inexpensive red chianti ($23). The service was slow

Conclusion: if you want to spend this kind of money, go elsewhere. Though the food was not bad, you could do much better. I am not being sarcastic when I say that the Olive Garden is much better than this place AND less expensive AND quieter AND more attentive. Sheesh, what a disappointment.

One of my favorites, its casual, easy parking, friendly – I like it. Very friendly, sit outside under royal palmtrees... Dog friendly when you sit outside. Located in a beautiful court yard. Elegant, but you can wear shorts. You will leave happy.

Elegant yet family-friendly restaurant features an upscale menu, a wood-burning oven and plentiful people-watching. – In Short
Stylishly graceful inside and romantically lit outside, this Merrick Park restaurant breaks from the notion that family eateries must resound with clatter and serve heavy sauces. Catering to dress-for-success shoppers, with or without their children, this happening spot features a menu spanning all of Italy. Options include red snapper dentice, veal chops with portobello mushrooms, filet mignon and fish carpaccio along with classics such as pasta and pizza.
