To all of my Atlanta friends. I want to inform you all of a horrible experience I had at a local business. My last Visit to the Blue MedSpa in Midtown was so shocking. The Guest Service manager Jennifer was extremely rude to me. She then rolled her eyes and turned he back to me. I won't even go into the pettiness of the prior conversation. I met with the founder John the next day before I was to go in for my procedures. He tried to convince me I was making a big deal of nothing and she just had a bad day. I have to say to ME, it felt racially motivated. I have seen that look in life before. Its one any person of color would recognize. Almost a look of disgust. John still convinced me to go thru with the procedures. I had inquired about a refund, he didn't want that. At the end of the conversation with Joh I found him to be very condescending and insincere. He assured me before I left his office that he make this situation right. I went for first procedure and it went very well. The botox and Juvederm treatment went great as well. I was given Lortab 7.5, i took 2 prior to my appointment time to not feel the needles! The nurse Jennifer gave me 1 extra syringe of the juvederm. She didn't ASK me, or tell me there was going to be a cost. At the checkoutI was told I owed almost $900 more. I had already prepaid several thousands of dollars. I said I was not giving another dime. I prepaid for several services. The next day I called the founder John and he told me that my business there was finished. He stated that I used up the rest of my package with the extra botox and the extra syringe of juvederm. That was never part of the deal. I took it as an "I'm sorry" for the racial incident with HEATHER. He told me I should find another spa who could accommodate me. I have never in my life experienced any kind of real racism in my life and hoped to never. so here in 2014, at a " luxury " Cosmetic Surgery Center. The to top it all off I did not get services I PAID for. So basically they ripped me off and there seem to be 2 Managers that don't like black people. I hope all my friends will stand behind me on this. I am leaving comments on sites and I have even spoken to the press. YES, its that serious. I was asked by a local reporter what i wanted. I had to think about it for a second. I was asked if I thought HEATHER should loose her job. Finally I said, I just want my money back. If they are happy with that kind of person there........good for them. I am going to work on getting my refund. Even if I end up in court! I going for consult tomorrow! feel free to comment on their yelp or their personal site. Blue Medspa Thanks in advance.

I went there the beginning of May, for the first time to their Paces Ferry location intending to get a pedicure. When I got there on time for mu appointment, they told me that the nail person was sick and couldn't come in. They suggested I try another treatment. I said I didnt' have the ney for another and I needed my feat done real bad. After going back and forth, I asked them for a complementary treatment , which I felt they should have immediately done instead of me asking for it.
I got the 20 minute facial and was really please on how it felt and how well they treated me. Turns out that the manicurist not coming in turned out in my favor! I still have my Gift Certificate and plan on going back to having my nails done in the near future.
Everyone from the Manager on down was really friendly and helpful especially when they learned I took a mobility bus to get there!
On the dark side, and I DO mean DARK, the place is lit like a funeral home. I know they have the lights low for relaxation, but at least they could light their hallways so you can see where you're going. There are ways of lighting a place so that it is soothing as well as upbeat.
Joseph is the best!!!
Well I have to say I have always heard had mixed reviews about med spa. When I call to schedule my apt the person on the phone gave me the impression that I was inconveniencing them...this happen a couple of times. I wasn't that happy, but had a GC. Well I dont know about the rest of the services, but the body scrub I got from JOESPH was the best I have ever had in my entire life. I could go on forever, but you get the picture. He was also on time, which is huge on the weekends. I was so flabbergasted by his technic that I came out of the room with my shirt on backwards. Later I realized I had only tipped him 20 percent and still feeling bad about it, so I'm going to set another apt and make sure I give him what he deserved at least 40 percent...trust me I don't tip over 20 if that because I am very picky when it comes to personal services.
I would only give joesph 5 stars, because I wasn't impressed with the people who answered the phones to set my apt.
Thank you thank you JOESPH you made my Sunday. WL
Spa experience – I recently had a Co2fractional treatment at blue med spa and it was very pleasant experience. The doctor was professional and knowledgeable as was the staff. I recommend this wonderful spa when visiting Atlanta. Susan Alsup
Never coming back! – Overall, my wife and I didn't have a good experience at this place. We were weary of the reviews, but decided to go anyway. The service was so-so, but our full body massages were very painful at times. My wife's masseuse didn't even treat her legs or feet. We felt ok at the time, but hours later, we experienced a lot of muscle aches. Worse yet, my wife is still reeling from massive pain in her bruised back and ribs. We definitely don't recommended Blue MedSpa, and we're never going back!
Waste of Time REVISED Maybe not a complete waste – After writing my initial review I discovered I had a voicemail from Brandy, one of the managers at Blue Med Spa. I haven't spoken with her just yet but the fact that she called and wants to make things right has changed my perspective of the spa. It's nice to feel that your patronage matters. Upgrading their rating to a "Sorta Good" from "Eh". In the least I appreciate the call.
I went for a consultation, arriving 15 minutes early as the spa suggested. I then proceeded to wait for another 30 minutes before I was told my consultation specialist was running behind schedule and would be another 15 minutes at least. There seemed to be no respect for patron's time at this establishment. While I can understand the flip side of the coin as well and wouldn't want to be rushed through a consulation as well, there has to be a happy medium where new clients like myself aren't left to feel like we or our time don't matter. Blue Med Spa won't have me as a client anytime soon.
I feel stupid for trusting them. – I allowed the personable staff to talk me into an expensive treatment. If it worked, it would be worth every penny, but I experienced no results. Now, no one at Blue Med Spa will return my calls: not the esthetician who performed the treatment, not the salesperson who followed up to make sure I committed to them, not the salon manager. Only the receptionists have been responsive and they have no power. I feel like a sucker.
Pampered like Royalty – AT the front desk I was greated by friendly people. They offered me green tea and took me directly to my appointment. I had a facial and Nicole was excellent. She has a soothing voice, explained the procedure to me and totally relaxed me. She has magnificent hands. I walked out of there looking 10 years younger!
This was a great experience, they didn't try to bombard me with products. I guess they speak for themselves! Overall, I would highly recommend this spa for people who work hard and never have time for themselves.
Treat yourself and go to this spa! I know for sure you will walk out feeling like royalty and glad you did something for yourself.
Compliments everywhere I go – The fountain! I had made my appointment because a friend said I would love the results. I really loved her hair and she had seen someone new who new at the Spa. I could not wait to see Sheila and see what she would say I needed. Sheila sat and discussed what would be best for me. She is very thorough and wanted my input too. She cut and colored my hair and treated it. After styling it she also showed me different styles that I COULD do and a few tips for wearing my hair when I go out. My hair has NEVER looked better. All my friends love it and have called to see Sheila. I will only let Sheila do my hair for now and forever. You have to check her out and see what she can do for you. I love this place.
Love, Love, Love! – I've been going to Blue Med for Botox and hair for several months and I couldn't be happier! The hair styling "dynamic duo" of Melanie and Tracy always leave my hair looking healthy and fabulous. I've had Botox twice now, and love the results! Everyone I've dealt with has listened to my goals and explained my options so that I can make educated decisions about what is right for me. I can't wait to decide what I'm doing next!
