Citysearch Editorial Review – Somewhere between the traditional Mexican food and the middle-of-the-road Americanized versions, there lies the extremely well executed dishes of Mr. Villa. Located on the corner of a busy street, Mr. Villa doesn’t reach for the holy grail of authenticity, but they do not sit back on the ease of mediocre, run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex. Instead, they take classics from both North and South of the border and serve them with homemade touches like freshly made tortillas. The staff is friendly and always willing to make recommendations—though sticking with the Oaxacan specialties such as the mole will serve you well. If you are there on a Monday night, you are usually in for a little live music treat. Despite the somewhat dingy outside on a street where the cars are constantly whipping by, Mr. Villa makes a case for staying in the warm comfort of the restaurant with a bottomless basket of chips and salsa along with whatever you’ve ordered from the kitchen.
Mr. Villa Mexican Restaurant – If you are looking for real authentic Mexican food go to this place! The food is so good and the owner Eduardo is so personable. I highly reccomend it.
Awesome food – My hubby and I went there for a lunch. We found the food really tasty and so good. We just moved here from Portland area, and I really dont recall anything this good there. Thank you Mr Villa.
Favorite Mexican Restaurant in Seattle – I've been going to Mr. Villa for years and it's so good! The food is excellent no matter what you order and they bring it out so quickly! Their signature Mr. Villa Burrito is the best and I try to save 1/2 for lunch the next day....but it tastes so good that sometimes that is a challenge! So yummy!!
Love the food!! – Mr. Villa is some of the best Mexican food in Seattle hands down. The price is also right!!! If you go I absolutely recommend you try the ceviche and the carne asada is excellent .
Great Food & Great Monday Night Music! – Seriously - people should be paying to hear the band they have on Monday nights - beautiful music from many Central and Latin American countries. I was in heaven. The owner seems really, really cool, too. Have fun and enjoy!
Good Food But False Advertising – Mr. Villa has good authentic Mexican food. I'm done going there though, because they have a huge sign across their front window advertising "Homemade Tortillas!" The past 4 times I've gone in there it was for the homemade tortillas and they've been "out of them" every time. That's what we call false advertising. No more Mr. Villa for me.
Best, Most Authentic Mexican Food in Seattle – I LOVE THIS PLACE! One fateful Saturday night, my boyfriend and I had a hankerin' for Mexican & decided to see what new place we could find on our way to the movies. It was like we were meant to go to Mr. Villa's because *BOOM* ...all of the sudden there it was and my boyfriend turned on a dime into the parking lot. The margaritas totally rock (strong + tasty, and for those of you tightwads, there's a 42 ouncer for about $12) the seviche is excellent, and the handmade tortillas are SO good I could (and sometimes do) eat them plain. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and compliments the cuisine perfectly. The staff treat you like family and their attitude contributes to the welcoming aura of this place. I recommend the carne asada - it's most definitely the best I've ever had. They have live music too, although I haven't experienced it yet. Whenever I crave Mexican, it's off to Mr. Villa's I go!
Great Carne Asada – Always great service and the food is excellent. Great small tacos (real tacos) with many delicious meats. We always try to find a better mexican restaurant but so far this is one of our favorites! Very reasonably priced too.
BEST TACOS EVER – I have to say - there are some really poor excuses for Mexican food in Seattle. However, Mr. Villa is a gem in the rough, always good food and polite service.
They make the best tacos, camarone tacos (absolutely addicting), red and green salsas made in house and delicious margaritas. Casual atmosphere.
My only complaint is that the restaurant used to make their tortilla chips fresh, from the stale homehade tortillas. Not anymore, Now they get the cardboard ones that are pre-packaged. Oh well, the food is still very good.
