Impossible to get anyone – I've been trying for some time now to schedule a spa day with my sister. We purchased Groupons and wanted to use them for her birthday, unfortunately we've been trying for weeks but haven't been able to get hold of anyone to set the appointment. Can't even leave a message since the voice mailbox is full.
DO NOT ENTER!!! – HORRIBLE!!!!!! They do not even deserve 1 star!!! I was a Groupon customer and got treated so! I bought my Groupon in November and called every day for weeks to get an answering machine that I could not leave a message on because it was always full! So I called the North Side location to complain and finally got an appointment. I get there and to my surprise, there is NO ONE there. Being that the answer machine was ALWAYS full, I was a bit perplexed. I sit in the chair that is not as comfy as my $20 nail spot, put my feet in and the water is SCOLDING HOT! I tell the tech and she said, 'well, you don't have to put your feet in'. ...REALLY??? How's that!? ~~Strike 1 During the service, still no one comes in and the phone had not made a sound. I ask questions about why she is the only tech there if they sold so many Groupons, why no one ever answers the phone, why it's so hard to get an appointment. Well, she (nail tech Heather) tells me that the Owner wants all the Groupon customers to return their Groupon because he is loosing money! What a crock! Maybe thats why they gave Groupon a completely diferent number to call because the number they gave did not ring there. I know because I called it while I was there! And because I am a Groupon customer that only paid $20 for mani/pedi, I will get a $20 experience! I was not offered ANYTHING to drink, my polish on my nails began to peel while she did my feet when I told her, she did NOTHING, she made my water extra hot, and then insulted me by saying I would not pay $80 for their mani/pedi BECAUSE I was a Groupon customer! I wanted to kick her teeth in! ~~Strike 2 with a couple of foul balls As i sit there and let my feet dry, she gets her 'regular customer' and makes sure to ask if her water is ok, offers her a drink and is extra friendly! Now, during our conversation I learned that she was on salary, so to give sorry service to me is not going to do anything but lessen her tip, yet if she would of given great service, she's still paid! I am normally a GREAT tipper! And I tip on the whole, regular price. She, well she got and NOT-SO-REGULAR tip! She almost did not get that simply because when I went to the front desk to tip. the male rexptionest was asleep!!! I was flabbergasted! I hit the desk to wake him and informed him I just called and the answer machine was full. If he was bored, call some people back! ~Strike 3 And they're OUT! Even with an offer of something to drink, this service is NOT worth $80. If you are looking for a spa mani/pedi pampering, I STRONGLY suggest beyondbeaute in Clear Lake and in Deep Park. They give the best treatment EVER! They have a wonderful services! My money will never go any where else!
And I left 2 emails on their web site and have yet to get a response!
Terrible about returning calls! – I purchased a Groupon for Elan day spa 11/15/11 for myself, mom and sister to get mani/pedis. This was going to be a Christmas gift and sadly I've not been able to reach ANYONE at Elan downtown to schedule appointments! I called at least 2-3 times a day, almost every day in December. There's never been a warm body to answer the phone, only a recording. I left messages when I could (more than half the time their voicemail box was full so you aren't able to). I went through the "contact us" section on their website multiple times to no avail. This is ridiculous! It shouldn't take 1+ months to schedule mani/pedi appointments!!! I'll try again tomorrow and call as soon as they open. If I ever want to use my Groupons it looks like I'll have to go down in person to books appointments - if that's the case, what does that say about this company's service???
I lOVE THIS PLACE!!! – I have a treatment tomorrow and can't wait. My mom is in town and I scheduled a girl's spa day with her and my aunt. Heather and the staff are awesome and very attentive. I've been to both locations, but love the Fannin location more and I actually live off 1960. I highly recommend them to all!!!
Best Pedicure Ever – I went to Elan Day Spa (downtown location) twice and everytime was wonderful. I had a pedicure the first time and Heather did a fantastic job. She made my feet silky smooth and the scrub and warm towels felt incredible. It was amazing but so affordable. I went to other spas for pedicures but this place is top notch. The second time I went was even better. I had the pomegranate and cranberry body polish and it was amazing. Heather once again took care of me and she was very professional. She had a precise and soothing touch and did a great job. I recommended this place to all my friends and family. All of them have enjoyed their experience. My sisters and I are now addicted to their services so we will come back for sure. My Rating for this spa is "Highly Recommended" but the system won't let me save it (it's stuck on "Average") so I have to write it in my message to clarify this.
So relaxing! – This is such a nice place! You feel relaxed the moment you walk in. The staff is very accomadating. Drinks-snacks-mimosas-steam shower-rose-all free and included with spa services! I definately will go back.
Excellent day spa – This was one of the best mornings of my entire life! I felt totally pampered by the staff of Elan. Everyone was very professional and the atmosphere could not have been more soothing. I had originally thought this would be a once in a lifetime experience, but not any more; I eagerly anticipate my next Elan outing. Very highly recommended!!!
Editorial Review – Upscale spa's second location offers luxurious treatments in an indulgent environment--imported antiques, Italian marble floors and Asian silk curtains.
An Amazing Spa! – My husband and I visited here for a couple's massage and Mani/Pedi package. It was the best experience; the staff are all so very friendly, the place is beautiful and relaxing. Inside the place is very intimate, the relaxation suite was very relaxing and the healthy snacks and Mimosa's topped off our perfect afternoon! A fantastic break from parenthood! We plan on making this a monthly outing for the two of us.
Probably better for massage than a facial. – Went for a facial and turned out to be more of a "shower." My hair and ears were soaked. I prefer more of a "fingertip" touch rather than an all-out "splatter" with the hands. Cleanser got into my eyes (and she knew I had contacts)! Had an eyebrow wax beforehand and she put scaling fluid on the sensitive, just-waxed area! I'm still red today and very sore in the areas. The massage was relaxing (neck and arms) so I think I'd only go back for a massage, if at all. The atmosphere was exceptional but I only wish the facial went much better. She used very very strong exfoliators for my skin and made it very very irritated (even today). The skin *is* smoother but very very sensitive and raw to the touch. I would have preferred some nourishment after the exfoliation.
