We had a very positive experience with Wayne. We found him through Living Social. He developed a very nice design for our backyard. Enjoyed getting to know him and to see how passionate he is about his work.
Wayne and his design team put together a great design for us. We sent them our survey and a few photos and they took it from there. Then we had a quick online meeting to finalize. Very impressive!
I found Outdoor Homescapes doing an internet search. We had some ideas of what we wanted in our outdoor living space and Wayne with Outdoor Homescapes helped us greatly with design ideas - how did we plan to use our space, how to leave adequate space for furniture, pros and cons of different types of materials, lighting ideas, what design was best to use with our roof line and more! The resulting design is beautiful, functional, and unique. We had one repair that was needed and Wayne and team took care of this right away. Just like all construction jobs, completion did take longer than we had anticipated but we are pleased with the finished product. The quailty of the work was excellent. We are enjoying our new outdoor space greatly. Thank you Outdoor Homescapes!
Our Outdoor Paradise
After going to a home show in Cypress, we were interested in an Outdoor Kitchen for our home. We had two of the companies that were displaying their work come out to provide us a design as well as a bid. After receiving the two I felt I should look at one more company to make sure I was not only getting a good price but the best design based on the small area that I was working with.
I did a search on the internet and came across Outdoor Homescapes. I talked to Wayne that same evening, told him that I was interested in a full kitchen, sink, refrigerator, double burner and a 36” grill but only had a 5’ X 6’ area to put it in. Wayne came to our home the very next evening and had a design that worked very well. At this point I had eliminated one company and it was between Outdoor Homescapes and one of the companies that I had out from the home show. The other company’s price was a bit higher but I wanted to discuss making a few changes based on some of Wayne’s suggestions as well as an updated bid. After making 3 calls and waiting 2 days with no response, I chose to give the work to Outdoor Homescapes. The job started 3 days later and was completed in less than 5 days… To be honest, I was having a hard time picking my stone, travertine and accent tiles fast enough to keep up with his crew. Speaking of the crew, their only goal was to provide great customer service and to make sure everything they were doing was to my satisfaction. They went as far as returning and hand selecting travertine and accent stone because they wanted all the stone to blend as much as possible.
We have only had our outdoor kitchen for two months but we use it just about every day and absolutely love it!
I’m not quite sure what has created the bad reviews between April 9th and May 13, 2013. With the exception of one review on September 18, 2012, all reviews have been very positive. As I stated above, an internet search is how I found Outdoor Homescapes and if I had seen bad reviews I would have never called them never the less hired them to build our kitchen.
Outstanding company & yes I would hire again!!!
Great work and service after the sale...and good friend. As I was reading some recent negative reviews on Wayne Franks and his company I was shocked. As I scrolled down further, I then began to see the positive reviews. It looks to me as somebody within Wayne's organization (disgruntled former worker) is trying to get back at Wayne. All I can say is that there are always issues when you are building any type of outdoor kitchen. Wayne and I worked through any and all issues together. Together is the key word. I can promise you that anybody complaining are people that wanted something for free. You have to be flexible as a customer and know that the unexpected does and will happen occasionally. Waynes company did an outstanding job on my outdoor kitchen and I have all the bells and whistles.
Wayne Franks is an outstanding man and he has a lot of character. He is funny too and easy to work with.
Just this past week I installed a new Fire Magic grill. The grill would have cost me $2500.00. With one phone call to Wayne he let me put the grill on his account and I recieved a discount to $1800.00. Saved me $700.00.
Wayne Franks , you will love him. To all the natsayers, look in the mirror and it is probably you that has the problem.
I contacted Wayne Franks using an internet search. I was looking for someone to construct and outdoor kitchen for my home. Our job was not a large one, granite counter, grill, burner and an insert for the Green Egg.
We are very pleased with the work and the finished product. The men that built our counter for the grill were perfectionists. Each day everything was cleaned up and left ready for the next step. His granite man was very good and did a great job of installing the granite. I would highly recommend Outdoor Homescapes to friends and family.
My question when calling references on a company is always " would you hire them again". All of Waynes references said yes. I can be added to that list as well.
Wayne Franks stole our money too and never finished our outdoor kitchen. We won our lawsuit but have not collected any money from him. WARNING: Do not use him!!!
Its not our Homescape its our nightmare.
Wayne Franks stole our money and did not complete the project. Beware. Check the BBB ask for recent references. We were fooled by the pictures on the website and fancy 3-D design. It appears he may have done good work years ago, but he was horrible. He couldn't coordinate subs, most of them quit on him. Delays, excuses, needing more money you name it. In the end after wasting our summer, he took our money for stone and appliances and a metal roof over $20K and walked said we'd have to finish the project ourselves. P.O.S.
I have been meaning to write a review about this company for a long time. PLEASE do not use them. Their staff is completely inexperienced and lack professionalism. Their owner, Wayne, brushed me off after just asking for a "basic" outdoor kitchen design. He said it wasn't worth his time. I've never heard of a company that cherry-picks during a bad economical time that we are in now. So if you are in the market for spending $20,000 or less, do not contact this company!
I would not recommend using Outdoor Homescapes. I requested a quote from this company as I was prepared to start the project. One of their representatives called me, and was very hesitant in offering any type of service. He recommended that I go to Home Depot or find another company to build my outdoor kitchen. As I tried to pursue further details about their project, the representative laid out the costs giving the impression I was not appropriately budgeting for the project. The representative was not professional and lost any type of business I would have provided or any recommendations. If this is how this company gives off a first impression, I doubt they can provide a quality service.
