I love that they have so many vegeterian options. Over the years I've tried all of them and have not had one that I didn't enjoy. My favorite is #28 the roasted eggplant and gouda- so delish! I have had their salads as well and they are really great about substituting or in my case leaving certain things out of it, like chicken or bacon etc. Of course their fries are a must have. Each time I go I act like I'm gonna skip out (for my waistline not because they're gross) but I give in each and everytime!
The local beer selection is another reason this place has me coming back for more.
$5 Delivery Charge Ripoff – The Menu Clearly States Free delivery, and when i call the girl tell me i have a $5 delivery charge, i say my house is 15 blocks away she says it says on the notes for your name to charge a $5 delivery charge. and apparently every other time i ordered ive been charged an extra $5 without even realizing it!!!
at some point someone from my house was over and did not tip the delivery guy well, he wasnt a rich kid, because of this it seems i was black listed with an added $5 charge when its clearly supposed to be free.
When i told the girl i never would order from there again she honestly could care less. Talk about caring about the patron...
What a vindictive place
Fries are good sandwiches soso
ill never eat here again.
Buyer beware – who pays $8 for french fries? If you dont want to this place is not for you. Everything including sandwiches are highly priced. I will never go there and pay $12 for a panini that I can get anywhere for half the price.
Editorial Review – Simple comfort foods, such as fresh sandwiches and soups, and unique beer and wine make this relaxing restaurant and wine bar in Park Slope a popular hang out.
Decent food, annoying crowd – There are two reasons I give this place a rating of two. The crowd consists of extremely pretentious and college aged fratboy/sorority girl type people. If you like the type of crowd that boozes it up and makes out at the bar then this place is for you. Additionally, the waitstaff is slow. We were going to get dessert tonight but the waiter (and I use that term lightly) forgot about us (we waited for 20 minutes just for him to come back). We literally had to grab another waiter so we could get our check. The asparagus, mozzerella with maple pesto rocks and is a must have should you go. I had a fresh mozzerella with tomato sandwich which is excellent. If you can get over the annoying crowd and slow service then give it a try.
Pleseant surprise – Went on wednesday night during the winter. Place was full and we found out why. We just snacked but the pannini options were impressive. Drinks were very well made and they had some unique flavors. Atmosphere-wise everything seems to click for this place, the music, the art, the candles and the staff demeanor. We are looking forward to returning for lunch when it gets warmer and we can eat outside in the garden.
Great Beer Selection Ive seen in awhile – Press 195 is great place to come late night or for dinner. I enjoyed my first expierence there so much. The food was great and the beer list was awesome. They have beers I have never tasted before. Glad I found this place it is a great place to go. Also the outdoor garden is so pretty cant wait to go there when the summer comes around.
Best bet for the area – This place serves pressed sandwiches containing just about anything you can think of.They also serve belgian type fries which were exceptionally good, maybe a bit oversalted. The sandwiches are decent, and for the area this place is kind of unique. The bartenders are cool, and very helpful. The waitstaff is 50/50.The night we were there it seemed the male servers were helpful, but the female servers(maybe because they were young)were downright annoyed to be there and made themselves scarce. The beer selection is great for the area and they also make a good pitcher of sangria.
Best Addition Bayside Has Seen To Date! – Fresh, delicious, accessible, airy, pleasant.
This is not your run-of-the-mill panini joint. Inside it's simply decorated and understated, I recommend going out back to the patio to eat when weather permits. The black bean hummus is just delish! Arugula Salad, Cheese Plate, the knish-wich with grilled veggies are so far the only dishes I've had but everything on the menu looks great. A small plate on the appetizers is enough for 2 people to nosh on, but if you're hungrier or you have 3 people, go for the large plate. Either way it's a fantastic deal. From the first bite you can tell the food is fresh, and the preparation is better than your ordinary appetizer. Tired of the typical beer or soda? May I recommend the sangria which is fresh, fruity juicy and cold, take your pick from red or white. What a nice change of pace!!
Gourmet, fresh and tasty. The service isn't anything to write home about, but still no gripes. Prices are fairly reasonable to moderate.
Fun place for lunch or dinner – Good basic meals & wonderful soups! Good customer service and good drink specials. We're becoming regulars for lunch during the week & take out on the weekends.
