Bringing the best from the 215 to the 404 – A philly native living in Atlanta this place is a godsend. Great service. Great prices. And real Amoroso rolls. It ain't a philly with out Amorosos. The owner is very friendly and loves talking all things Philly.
cant touch the mad italian – if you want a real cheese steak go to the Mad italian, hands down the best. for 34 years the mad italian has been cooking up the best cheese steak south of philly and has always made them on the (proper roll)
Fast Service – The place was average at best. I had the cheesesteak combo and the price was very reasonable. However, it wasn't better than the cheesesteaks that I have had anywhere else. I wasn't impressed. On a positive note, the service was good.
The best philly cheesteak you can get in Atlanta. – You can really tell that these guys know how to make a great philly. The prices, service, and food quality are sure to make you enjoy your experience at this diamond in the rough.
Great food at a great price... – ...well they had plenty of mustard. Food was good, price was even better. I've had better cheesesteak (Little Phillies, way east off I-20), but this is definitly right up there with the big boys.
Good Sandwich but where's the #@^@&* ketchup? – The cheesesteak was as good as I've had. Really top notch. The restaurant itself is in an old house with space heaters to try and keep the place warm. I honestly don't mind hole in the wall type of places and it almost enhances the experience when it comes to BBQ and yeah cheesesteak.
I have to tell you though... they were out of ketchup. Not to be overly critical but how in the hell can a place that has so few ingredients to order run out of something as basic as ketchup? And if you did discover "oops we have no ketchup" then why not run up to the store and get some?
All pettiness aside I will probably go back. The only other real choice is Woody's and while the cheesesteak is good the lines are long, the parking sux and I always get the feeling that the 2 guys (think they are the owners) are about 1 cheesesteak away from throwing a kitchen knife at one of their patrons.
Good Steaks, Horrible Service!!! – The food is good, not great but the service is horrible. A line at Pat's or Genos with 50 people take less time than to get a steak at Philly Boys. Went in there recently for lunch and there were only 5 people in the in the place and it took 30 minutes to get one steak to go. Steak was good and will go back, but if the service doesnt improve wont go back again. Certainly isnt a place if you have an hour for lunch,
The real deal – If you want a real Philly cheesesteak, then you MUST go to Philly Boys. They are now over on 1663 Howell Mill Road. I recently took my mother there - she is a transplant from south Jersey. She loved it and chastised me for failing to take her sooner. The sandwich to try - Buffalo Chicken Philly. The owner makes his own buffalo sauce and it is the best ever.
restaurant has moved – THIS HAS MOVED. To 1663 Howell Mill Rd. near chattahoochee. i found this out after driving to the old location. thanks citysearch.
