Over priced, average – Service is not very well trained and seemed hurried at times.

The food is on the average side, but WAY over priced.

Might be worth trying again on a slow night, but I am not going to spend that much on a weeknight.

Never had a bad meal. Best Pizza in Town!! – No matter what I have tried at Virgilio's I have never been disappointed. The 20% off bottles of wine during happy hour always allows us to try a new wine. Best of all its not corporate. Keep up the great work Virgilio as we needed this here in Ken Caryl.

Brought me back to my child neighborhood pizzeria – What a cool small place. Walk in and its smells so good with pizza and garlic in the air. I have to say it may be the best pizza in Colorado. The crust is crispy the sauce is tangy and the cheese was the real deal. The garlic knots where fantastic also.

Coasting on OLD Reviews – This used to be such good pizza. Now it’s coasting on old reviews. We used to drive out and pay $$$ for this pie often. The food here has really changed. If you have been eating it all along, you may not have noticed. But, last weekend we felt as if we’d bumped into a friend we hadn’t seen in awhile to find him 60 lbs heavier, unshaven and rude. Twice now, we’ve made the trip out to treat ourselves to what we thought would be another great pie. What a disappointment. The sauce, compared to its former richness, is very thin, watery, and without much in the way of flavor. Servers disengaged… Crust soggy… yuck.

This owner is a piece of work too. Picture “Italian mobster” type with the language to match. I should have guessed after that BelMar Italian Festival snub. We had signed on to receive emails about events and specials. What we get is this defensive owner constantly rallying support for situations where he feels wronged, or boasting about some “big” charity contribution, etc… (He even has one gigantic check for what he apparently considers a large sum of money hanging in the dining area! Overcompensating?) Once, when getting an update on the delayed opening of the new Littleton location, he mentioned how unexpectedly pricy the wine bar was getting but that it would be worth it. The latest tacky email was a surveillance video of some dine-&-dashers who skipped out on a $70. tab. The video is peppered with the owner’s crude comments. In the end he tries to pass off the notice as trying to protect the children of this dasher when he is clearly out to catch and humiliate him. All restaurant owners have had to deal with ding-&-dashers at one point or another but honestly, when was the last time you received a video alert about it? He might think about emailing out a coupon or two to his loyal customers instead. And the unpaid bill… $70. + tip. Since when does it cost $84. to treat one adult and two children to pizza?

I for one am tired of emails asking me to write to publications like 5280 and Westward praising Virgilio’s and to support the place by writing good reviews… for what? Not so much as a coupon. I suspect recent good reviews to be contrived by an owner who has taken advantage of his customer base because this pizzeria has lost its “stuff.”

As far as awards for “Best Pizza” these publications may want to reconsider allowing this owner to buy his way onto to list if they want to remain credible.

Best Pizza in Colorado, Aewsome Wine Bar – What a great experience. We went on a Tuesday when it was not busy. The owner totally gave the royal treatment. We tried everything that he recommended, the spicy mussels, burrata( a ball of creamy goodness) and spinach wheels to start. Awesome!!! The pizza is the real deal, brick oven NY style the way it is suppose to be. Now the wine bar is amazing, You must check the wine system, it is nothing that I have ever seen. I cannot wait for the spring to hang on the outside patio with the awesome firepit.

Great Pizza, Knots and best of all WINE!! – What a fantastic find, I really love this place. The pizza is right from the east coast. Everything on the menu has been fantastic. The wines are amazing and the staff was super nice. Love the firepit outside and food after 9pm.

Pizza yes- Service - NO – If you are in luck and the kitchen is "on" you are going to enjoy this place.

If not you just entered the "Pizza Notzi" zone. This is when the drive over isn't worth it. I don't want to fight for my food, lol.

Great Pizza,Knots & Wine – My husband and I went to Virgilio's on a Saturday night. The place was packed. We waited at the bar where a friendly bartender recommended a fantastic zin and to our pleasure there was live music. We decided to eat at the bar. The garlic knots amazing. The pizza was even better. Great cheese sauce and crust. Best pizza in Denver. The wine bar is fantastic. Better yet there was a late night happy hour at 10. We will be back many times.

Still the best pie in town, – I have to laugh at some of these reviews. I have been going to Virgilio's for 5 years now. Bottom line there is nothing better in this town. Yes it gets crazy busy and maybe the service may be off on some days. I have never had a bad meal and the people there are just great. The garlic knots and pizza are the best in this town.

Great Wine List, Great Food – Best keep secret on this side of town. Over 55 wines by glass and a fantatstic happy hour. 20% off all bottles from 11 am to 6 pm 7 days a weeks. (awesome). The eggplant reminds me of my grandma's, The pizza and knots are the best in the state. The live music is a great touch.
