Awesome martini lounge! – The Robusto Room is a quaint martini lounge and cigar bar by day that really wakes up at night. It's definitely the hottest spot on the south side. Drinks are super reasonably priced and the staff is always really friendly. Plus there's a full cigar store attached too. 5 STARS!
great fun, good service, and wonderful events – All of my friends and i have been going to the Robusto Room for years. I had my very first cigar in the loung there. Ive always been treated with a great amount of respect every time i walk in the door. the regulars at the bar and even the staff are very friendly and easy to start up a conversation with. nice comfortable couches and chairs all over the place. and you can smoke anywhere you want in there. a great bar with very reasonable prices. I think its a wonderful place to meet old friends or to make some new ones.
I love This Place – I've been coming to this place for years and some of the reviews blew me away. Clearly this person has "personal bias" that they accuse everybody else having! The staff are pleasant and joke with you. The sarcasm is nice and reminds me of the old time bartenders. I love the fact that you can smoke inside and they play all kinds of music. If you like Jazz and Blues, come during the day for a leisure time, on Friday and Saturday it turns into a dance club without having to drive downtown. There may be other bars and cigar places, but having this one so close, with nice people and 20+ scotches: I think I am in heaven!
I absolutely love this place. Have been here quite a few times and have never had anything less than a fantastic evening. For a lady who really digs cigars the smell and well as enjoying one now and again, this is the best spot for it. They do a great job finding the one cigar that you will dig and the music is the best!!!! I will continue to frequent the Robusto Room as long as it's around.
Cigars, Drinks, music and good times, Indoors – One of the best places in South Denver to hang out and chill with a good drink and a nice smoke. The attached Cigar Store (Stogies and Bogeys) Has good selection of cigars, prices or not the cheapest in town but not unreasonable either. The space is divided into three rooms, the cigar shop, the main bar and a small lounge room in between with comfy leather chairs and cigar lockers for the regulars. Smokes and drinks are allowed throughout, there's also an outdoor patio. The Cigar shop closes at about 10 or 11 so buy enough for the night early on as the selection of cigars at the bar is limited.
The bar does however have a good mix of premium scotch, wine, rums, vodka, port, etc., the draft beer selection is slim (only 3? draft taps), drink prices are actually lower here than at most other bars in the area. The food selection is very minimal (no kitchen), however they have no qualms about patrons ordering in food from other places, they even have menus from several nearby restaurants that will happily deliver, just ask the staff (my favorite is Jon Holly's Asian Bistro, great sushi).
During the day and early evening this is usually a quite place to relax and enjoy a cigar and a drink, free WiFi, so you'll often find someone getting some last minute work done. Starts to get busy about 9 or 10pm and most nights there is a DJ from 10 to 2am.
There's a good group of regulars cigar lovers, and if you hang out in the lounge between the bar and cigar shop you can easily strike up a conversation, which is great if come in on your own. The late night crowd is mostly in the 25 to 35 age but there are a fair number of people in the 40's and 50's too.
I've seen several reviews that complain about the staff but they are friendly, especially if you treat them with respect. They do get very busy when it's crowded, and you might have to go to the bar to get a refill occasionally, especially if you drink your rounds quickly (more staff late at night would help).
Not a place to go if you're a fan of Colorado's smoking ban and don't want to be around people who are enjoying tobacco, with so few places in Denver where you can enjoy a smoke and a drink indoors those that are left are naturally full of people smoking.
Can be difficult to find, the easiest thing to do is go to the United Artists Meadows 12 Movies Theater stand in front of the box office turn around and look a little to the left.
Overrated and Biased reviews dont fool some – The places you need to be wary of the most are the ones with mostly "stellar" reviews and a few VERY BAD ONES! This place takes the cake!
Take it from me, I have given it more than literally a dozen chances because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, and honestly it lulls you in with a false sense of security.
I thought I would love this place, I guess the reviews and the cigar thing made me believe that. Do not get me wrong, I went there at first thinking the five stars was legit.
The staff are a joke! A couple (I mean 2!) clearly care about each and every customer. I feel sorry for them picking up the slack when they could be doing better. The others are absolutely horrid! They could care less about certain people. Their service is beyond snooty and passive aggressive, if you call them an error, expect to be there 15 minutes longer than you wanted to be to fix it.
Their beer selection is really bad even if you like bottles, and not as upscale as one would hope if you are a beer snob. Their prices are awful, and the only saving grace being big martinis at a reasonable price.
You will often wonder why you are waiting forever and have others around you served first by their passive aggressive male bartender. If your giant martini is missing olives or needs a little work, it will be warm by the time he gets back to you.
The biggest problem is they are inconsistent with customers and it seems they genuinly think that only a few matter. The prices are too high, the service is too bad and there is really nothing other than maybe your friends go here a lot to keep you coming back. They attract a crowd that favors "snob appeal" and are simply to complacent in the business they have to realize that no business model is sustainable.
Lets be honest, I am a cigar lover and I can tell their business would plummet if the smoking ban was lifted.
The other reviews on here that are favorable are not well thought out or written or take into account anything but personal bias.
After a dozen times actually going here and labeling what is good about the place, I can tell you that they are clueless to the fact that anyone matters but the five star type on here and thats all they care about. I have never been to a place so snooty that I can see the writing on the walls, unless they shape up, the fickle crowd are not going to stay impressed with the place because it just doesnt live up to its potential. Why? Because it is lulled into a false sense of its own accomplishments. It is a narcissistic snooty place to go, and it can only fool people for so long.
Beautiful decor, great staff, fun times! – Awesome spot! Makes downtown look like amatuer hour. This spot is sophisticated without being stuffy. Staff and customers are all attractive and friendly. Just moved to the area and I've been telling all of my co-workers (apparently I was the only one who hadn't heard about The Robusto Room). Big Fan. Period.
Great place for a drink after work – Great place on the way home from work to grab a beer and have a cigar. Awesome late night scene also.
The most unique place in Denver – Come for the Drinks, come for the smoles, and come for both because you can do bothe at this spot, but most of all come for the people! This atmosphere has something for everyone and honestly you couldn't ask for a better crowd: women, grab a drink and cut loose to the music and the scene; guys, be a man, grab a drink and find a good cigar!
