As happy as I can be! Thank you! – Hi. My name is Chris. I am a correctional officer at Rikers Island. I was looking into getting lasik done for a very long time. Finally I built up the courage and decided to go for it. At least get some more information about it.
As a correctional officer, my work requires a lot of concentration, it requires watching camera's continuously, searching inmates and sometimes I have to defend my self from getting hurt. It is very inconvenient for me to wear my glasses when I am in the middle of a confrontation or trying to handcuff an inmate. Because when my glasses actually fall off, I am blind and I cannot see anything. Which is why lasik was the best thing I have ever done for myself. And now my wife is on her way to do it too.
I know a few people who have got it done many years ago. The reason I was so skeptical about getting it done was because it’s your eyes that is being played with. It is a serious matter, and I don’t think anyone should go to a facility they do not trust. In my case it was totally opposite. I totally trusted this facility as this facility was most honest with me. And I say this with experience. Also had heard a lot about it. Researching definitely paid off.
Before moving to NYC I had went to a lasik center in CT. And over there I was told that I was a candidate for the surgery and I could do the surgery as soon as possible and everything’s was great. Thank god I had some financial issues that had to be solved before doing the surgery. Then I came to the Manhattan lasik center in 2007 for a free consultation.
The consultation was very through, in fact I got to learn a lot more then what I "thought" I knew. My eyes were checked, had a thorough eye exam and I was also able to meet the doctor who was going to perform the surgery. And obviously just had to ask a billion questions before even touching my eyes. During the consultation I was told that I was not a candidate for the surgery and I would not be one may be for a couple more years. I was told my eyes were still changing. Then I returned after 2 years to check and see if my eyes were okay to do the surgery. And thank god....they were.
Which is why I choose to do it with this center. If they wanted they could have told me the same thing I was told in CT. and I would have believed it. How could have I known if I am a candidate or not. That’s when it got a little easier, as I could undoubtedly trust this center. Being honest paid off to them and I as they got my business and I got a perfect vision. I am now as happy as I can be. I don’t have to worry about glasses. If I have to hand cuff an inmate it’s done...no disturbance!! =)
Vision Fixed, Service not that great. – I found most of the staff at times a bit pushy. While my eyes were corrected, I found the overall experience to be unpleasant. I did not feel that my concerns were addressed and when I called with questions after my surgery the staff became very short with me. I had very long wait times just about every time I visited his office. I expected a bit more especially considering the price I paid.
Much CLEAR!!! – Hello reviewers! My name is Nina Ramos. I had my surgery done a month ago from this Lasik Center. I was treated by Dr. Niksarli. I also met with the other doctors who were equally as good. Dr. Niksarli was a great doctor to me atleast....he served me well and helped me during my Panic Attacks. lol
I went in for a consultation thinking im never going to get my surgery...as i was too scared to even think about it...but i was always curious to know more about it. Well i would say i was more curious to know IF I WAS A CANDIDATE for the surgery or no! it came out to be that i was and i was relieved....because i always thought you cannot get the surgery done if you have a very high prescription...Apparently i was wrong!
After my consultation i still had not made my mind up for the surgery. I was still not sure as i was just too nervous to go thru with it. But then i received a call from that center a couple of weeks ago asking me if i was still interested. I gues that payed them well..because right then i came to a conclusion that i WILL do the surgery no matter what!
I called them back and set up my appointment for the surgery. AND NOW! here i am using the computer with no problems.....reading as many books as i want....swiming under water.....playing sports....without having to worry about my contacts and glasses.
I would say this is absolutely the best thing i have ever done for myself. i am enjoying it throughly and i thank the Manhattan Lasik Center for it!
Thank you very much
Awesome! – Just went for a consult here 2 weeks ago (thus the five stars because I got the surgery there last week). It have been to many consults but this was my first consult on the way to lasik surgery which really got my attention and I have to say it was a pretty good experience.
I went in prepared to wait an hour like most doc offices, but was almost immediately brought in for the eye exam. I spoke with two of the other doctors. Especially Dr. Niksarli was great! Others were awesome as well....as they gave me the eye exam. They were very friendly, very informative and they all seemed to know what they were doing.
Dr. Niksarli, himself, was also very friendly and helpful and he explained the procedure in detail and answered all my questions. He was very honest and actually suggested why I should do a certain procedure and why....because there was a procedure that I had heard of by word of mouth and some people I know who had got it done was really easy and perfected my vision completely but the doctor explained to me why I should or should not get that particular procedure as it will increase some risks because my vision was soo horrible. Plus with this I was totally saving me some money =) (which is an odd thing for the person getting my money to suggest).
After meeting with him, I met with the equally well informed financial guy, who told me about a number of financing plans and etc. The cost is about between $2000-$3000 (this includes two years of check ups and any adjustments that might need to be made). This is a exactly what I had in mind spend.
Then obviously I went ahead and booked the day of my surgery and here I am very happy. I cannot even tell you how impressed I am, this place seemed very efficient, very friendly and comfortable. I would say at the very lease go in for a free consult and see if you like it. I mean what do you really have to loose?
Nothing but maybe an hour. But it will definitely be am experience of a life time if you were to get this surgery done! I recommend it to everyone!
great experience – I had my eyes treated by Dr. Kevin Niksarli couple months ago. I can see better than 20/20 now. It was the best decision I made. His staff is very knowledgeable and professional, as well as nice. I was nervous at first. But Dr. Niksarli's great attitude and confidence put me at ease. I am so glad I followed my friend's advice and went to Manhattan Lasik Center for my procedure. I am telling about this place to all my friends who wear glasses and contacts. Thank you all for the great work!
great place for LASER surgery – iPhone vs. Lasik vs. iPhone vs. Lasik vs. iPhone vs. Lasik .............I met someone one day shopping for a iphone and Lasik came up, he had lasik with Dr. Niksarli. After that it was my mission to get Lasik.
So it was between Lasik and the new Apple G3 s iPhone, so I decided to get Lasik with Manhattan Lasik Center. My mom told me to go to 3 places b4 deciding. I just did a quick search google review and made 3 appointments to different places I felt I should visit before making my mind. I'm really glad I picked Manhattan Lasik. I'm not going to go through all the great things everyone keeps raving about them but it is true. They really make your experience memorable. It was the best place out of the three that I went to. After the Laser, I went home to sleep for 8 hrs. I woke up and Damnnnnng!!!! I CAN SEEEEE! It really works..I smacked myself 3 times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Overall I'm really happy with them and figure since they went the extra mile with me and my procedure, I'll share my wonderful experience here.
The best part of the experience is after the lasik check up, I was walking on 5th ave with happy eyes...long and behold a apple store! So spur of the moment purchased the new G3 s iPhone. I was in such a great mood, I baught it. Been playing with it for a few hours but that's another review.
New Year, New Eyes, New Life! – So I made up my 2009 new years resolution to get rid of my dorky glasses and decided from all the laser centers to go to Manhattan Lasik Center. WHY? Because in this economy, they were the best deal I found after going to a million places! What a feeling I now have?20/15 yes baby!!!!!!I wish I had done it sooner!!!!
I just wanted to share my experience here.(After going to 5 other places in the tri-state area?..yes I know but it?s my eyes ) Anywayz, It?s a nice place with a great staff, very friendly. Dr Niksarli was right on the money, not only did he educate me on the differences between all the technologies, He actually decided after a million testing, scans, maps etc that iLasik was the best technology for me! I got a chance to talk to a ton of happy patients who was there for their follow up care. They also hooked me up with 0% financing and the best part was the small dog they give you during the surgery. It really helped but I wasn?t that scared because Dr Niksarli guided me throughout the whole procedure.
So my advice to anyone who wants Lasik during this economic time? RUN!!! don't walk to Manhattan Lasik Center...They are the best Value!
Very Honest Doctors!
I just want to Personally Thank everyone at Manhattan Lasik Center for being so honest. I was rejected from Laser Vision correction because my eyes are shaped irregular. I forgot what they said it was but it sounded like kerarkonos (sp)? I am so sad that I was not a candidate for lasik and happy at the same time because they have the technology to diagnose my condition sooner before It could have been worst if I actually gone through with the surgery!
Even though I was not able to get the surgery, I will definitely refer anyone I know that wants to get rid of their glasses and contacts to Manhattan Lasik Center. The Doctors here really know their stuff and the staff is really nice and down to earth. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in Lasik Correction.
I can see clearly now!!!!!! – Hi, my name is Nillietheme W. I was first introduced to lasik in 2005 when my supervisor had his eyes done. I started thinking to myself "If I would have such surgery than my husband wont have to spend so much money on eye exams and glasses". For years I have always had problems with glasses. They got in the way when I would hug and kiss others or they will fit at the first wearing and then they (the glasses) became to big for my face. I continue to dream of the day when I could afford the lasik surgery.
I remember sitting at my desk and playing around to the web. I stumble across the web sit for manhattan Lasik center, I called them and spoke to one of the staff persons from the clinic and he encouraged to come down and speak with one of the consultants who was very kind and understanding. They were so caring toward me and my husband and was open to all of our questions. They exam my eyes and took us in the office showed us the options as well as an easy payment plan. The cost was not as I have thought it would be and it fitted in our budget. I have been out of work for almost two years so I was really behind in several of payments (students loans, credit cards, other personal loans). So we were quite impressed when they explained my eyes and then showed us the different payment plans that fitted us. They informed us of the one year payment with no interest they said that if we made our payments on time for one year we would be able to pay our payments in full without any interests.
I prayed to Jehovah and decided that we will go through it. I have never thought the day would come when I could show off my beautiful eyes (I took after my father's side with the eyes). Now I know what the song "I could see clearly now" mean thank Dr. Niksali for this wonderful discovery.
On behalf of the Winston family, thank you!
my experience – I would recommend the center without a doubt. The staff is friendly but the finance advisor is a little pushy, otherwise it's great service and price
