Confused by all the positive reviews – Are you ready to experience stereotypical American culture by means of dining out? Well, The Cheesecake Factory is the perfect place. Let's start with the location: it's at the Mall at Green Hills, where parking is truly an adventure, but there is valet. Upon walking into the restaurant, you'll feast your eyes on the regrettable decor featuring designs from virtually every culture that have transformed the restaurant into one terrible interior. You will then approach the host stand where you'll be given that cute little thing that will vibrate in a couple of hours when your table is ready. After you've roamed around in the mall for a good amount of time, your table will be ready and you'll be seated either in an uncomfortable booth or even more uncomfortable tables. Your server will most likely be the typical half-wit charlatan who [somehow] always gets excellent tips. Soon you'll begin to read the novel that is their menu and discover that, strangely enough, a restaurant known to feature cheesecake serves food from all around the world. You'll be so overwhelmed that you just won't know what to pick. Well, no matter what it is, you can expect it to be gargantuan! The portions are enough to feed three people! Even your "small" Caesar salad can feed the whole table. You can also expect the monstrous portions of food to taste like nothing at all but fat and grease. If you ask me, you should try out the fried macaroni and cheese. It's a heart attack waiting to happen, as most of their food is-- including the salads. At least in some places in the world, restaurants give you the option of having seconds, rather than scooping out 20 pounds of food at once. There is one positive thing to say about The Cheesecake Factory: their cheesecake is good. I get it to-go sometimes.

If you can wait an hour or two it's worth it. – I hate having to wait but I always have to when I go to the Cheesecake Factory. There is usually a waiting list to get a pager to get a table so don't go if you are in a hurry. The menu is as thick as a bible and the portions are huge. The dessert is really the only reason I go. I went tonight and had to wait 26 minutes to get my to go order but the food is delicious. My favorites are the chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake and the Godive cheesecake. Mmmmmmm.

Decadent cheesecakes and classic American cuisine makes this a popular chain. – In Short
Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.

Best Cheesecake Anywhere! – The Cheesecake Factory is a fabulous restaurant; hence, the long wait on occasion! We have found eating early (5:30-6:00pm) allows for immediate seating and take out is another great option since they bring it to you while you wait in your car! The chop salad and tuxedo cheesecake are two of my favorites! It's hard to venture too far from those menu items; however, in the summer the Flying Gorilla is a must ... and on Sundays, don't miss the French Toast!! The menu offers so many options that everyone can find something, which means it's a great option for picky eaters! I have been waiting a long time for the Cheesecake Factory to come to Nashville! I'm so glad it's here! I'm more flexible on restaurant choices when vacationing in a city that also offers a Cheesecake Factory.

Fun, beautiful, crowded – I've never seen this restaurant when it wasn't crowded with a 30 minute wait list. I can't wait 30 minutes to sit so I always go to the bar. I get myself a tall bar table within 5 minutes or less. Portions are HUGE! I get appetizers and always take some away. Margaritas are too sweet and not enough liquor. It's comfortable with pleasant surroundings, ceiling art, etc and fun every time I've visited.

NOT FOR LARGE PARTIES!! – This is not the place to go if you have a rather large party. They only have 3 table that can accomodate large parties and one of the managers, Andrew Plamer was very disrespectful. Our party waited for over 2 hours for a table and never got seated. The manager consistently lied to our party and we everntually ended up going elsewhere. Upon my complaint, the General Manager Mr. Mark Poor basically called me a liar and offered me $25 gift card for 15 disappointed guest. So BEWARE!! BEFORE ENTERING THIS HOT SPOT.

Fabulous Service! – Despite being open quite a while now, the popularity is still huge. Even on a week night there is a wait. The huge crowd and overly loud music was one of the only downsides. The service my husband and I received was nothing short of fabulous. The young waiter anticipated our every need and gave us his full attention despite the crowd. And of course the food was fabulous!

worth the wait; price is my only complaint – I tend to lean towards non-chain restaurants, but Cheesecake Factory is really something one should try at least once. The Roman inspired decor is phenomenal, and the nearly 20-page menu is varied enough to appeal to everyone. I like that many of the dishes they serve are not easily prepared at home. Expect supersize portions with the exception of appetizers (as should be). My favorite is the deep-fried firecracker salmon rolls (appetizer). I haven't had luck with their non-cheesecake desserts. Your server can help navigate through the menu based on your preferences. I like that they have a few cheesecakes with a lighter texture. Pumpkin cheesecake is great when in season. I can imagine how service might be compromised during prime dining times, but I've only had extremely friendly service thus far. On the days I've been, a long line forms even before the doors open. Can be a little pricey (kids' meal chicken fingers was more than $7), but this is really one of my favorite places in town.

Worst Service Ever – 8 girls went: We were told that we could call 20 min ahead of time and they would get our table ready. We did but upon arrival we were told that we had been lied to. Then we waited 35-50 min. After we were told there were only bar tables available and if we wait 10 min another table would be ready. After 20 more minutes we had to take a table in the bar.

When seated, we waited 30 min before our appetizers order was taken. Both appetizer and the meal took forever to arrive and one order wasn't put in. We had been there so long we didn't feel like eating anymore.

When we spoke to the manager he did nothing to apologize to the ENTIRE table. He only spoke in whispers to the person on the end, ignoring the rest.

Needless to say we WON'T be back.
