below average italian with a hefty price – first and last time at this overpriced restaurant. trust me i dont mind paying for a good meal but the only highlight was the waiter. i went with family from out of town and truly felt embarrassed. the food was below average at best and we had to wait over a half hour between courses. all i can say is BEWARE!!!!!

The worst – The best part of the evening was when we were out the door. We had to wait almost 1/2 hour for our table and we had reservations! Our wiater was just too inexperienced. He took our order for a bottle of wine and then about 10 minutes later he returned and asked "did you order wine?" Well another 5 minutes and it finally arrived. We ordered our entree at the same time as our appetizers. After they cleared our initial plates it was another 1/2 hour before our main course. We complained about the service and the waiter wanted to debate the reason for the poor service with us. They did offer to buy us another bottle of wine which we refused ( they did deduct the original bottle from the bill). We would much rather have paid full price price and had a better experience. The food, after all of this, was just adequate.

It is a shame as we had high hopes.

Best Italian in the city! – Been there 5 times and NEVER been disappointed in any way. The best Italian. Not necessarily inexpensive, but worth every single penny!!! One of my favorite restaurants!!!

very good atmosphere; good food - but small portions, and therefore cannot justify price – i went here because this used to be one of my favourite italian places (fratellis) until it went down hill and went out of business. we did not know it was this upscale (we were in jeans and collared shirts only), but they let us in without question. the atmosphere is very nice, however the pop/rock music was a little too loud and did not set the mood very well. we came a bit early (5 pm) so it was basically empty and service was phenomenal. we both ordered the special (a veal tortellini in a mushroom sauce). it was pretty good, but there were only 10 tortellinis for 20 bucks. i cannot justify that price unless it was (as the other review described it) orga!smic. and it was quite good, but a little heavy. if i wanted to be negitave, it was like hamburger helper with gourmet mushroom sauce or on the positive side a nice blend of flavours that was a little too heavy and salty. i ordered the creme brulee for dessert, and it was very good, but a little bit too sweet. overall, it was a nice experience, and if i was in the neighborhood (i live in aurora/parker, so its pretty far), and i wanted to splurge, i would eat here, but otherwise it was nothing to really write home about.

happy dining!

Palletially Org@smic!!! – Dear gawd--help me for I have Zinned at Undici's. I have NEVER in my life moaned so loud whilst eating. I read the other review here about the "greasy pool" in the noodle dish--and, I know what they mean, but that is called BUTTAH--and, they do it right over there.

Let me recommend to you that before you die, you try Undici's Gnocci--but, with butter sauce and parmesan. Ask them to go light on the butter or oils if you prefer. They don't offer the Gnocci with butter and parmesan on the menu specifically, but you CAN order it like that! Turns out, that the chef is world famous and has won international awards for his Gnocci. I've tried it 2 other ways there--and you JUST CAN'T GO WRONG.

They also serve the best dirty martini's on earth (okay, wouldn't know that for a fact, but it feels like it!), and their service is UNCOMPARABLE! It is family owned and operated and you about get treated better by them than your own family :)

Try the Tri-Calore salad and their Red Zin. Be prepared to Meg-Ryan like no other. Oh, and ask to be served by Andreas--he is wonderful. Everyone who works there is just so hospitable!

Who cares about any waiting--just sit in the bar and enjoy yourself.

Okay, I feel better now about spreadding the word...I've been there 4 times this month, alone!

Be careful what you order. – My girlfriend ordered the spaghetti with shrimp marinara and found it quite delicious. I had a small bite and must admit it was very flavorful. However, don't make the mistake I did and even think about ordering the rigatoni with home-made sausage ...Not only was it was greasy and unappetizing, but it tasted almost creepily identical to the 'budget gourmet' three meat lasagna t.v. dinner you can get at many supermarkets for less than a dollar. Except for being far more of a heart-stopper. This plate literally had a deep pool (more than a milimeter) of grease sitting at the bottom of it. I found myself struggling to try to eat the noodles from the side of the plate, and trying to avoid letting them take a bath in the thick pool of concentrated excess fat. I couldn't even eat more than a third of it before my body cried out at me to stop.

So in summary: Some food here may be quite good, but be carefull. Some of the dishes are not only uninspiring to the palatte, but actively gross.

Mouthwatering food, boisterous dining room – Me and my boyfriend walked to Undici on a Wednesday night because it was nearby and viewed a menu, deciding to sit down for a meal. The wait extended the hostess's original expectation; meanwhile bartenders asked us twice about drinks. The overall service and attention was prompt. I ordered the spaghetti with tomatoes and jumbo shrimp and he ordered the rigatoni with homemade sausage and pancetta. Spaghetti can vary wildly and I was admittedly worried about getting a bland or overly sweet sauce. Upon the first few bites I immediately found my dish to be interesting, but as I went on to discover the tasty tomato chunks, generous garlic shavings and basil seasoning I became thoroughly impressed. I at first declined a taste of the rigatoni based on it's appearance alone, but quickly agreet to a food swap. He was impressed with my dish while I agreed that his was excessively greasy and bland (shouldn't homemade sausage be more flavorful than average ground beef?) We had some difficulty communicating across the table due to the dining room noise and, to bring that to a climax, there was a birthday party upstairs. The decoration was psuedo-fine dining with a bad club-like lounge near the front bar. The waitress was busy or tired enough to overcharge us for one entree, but fixed it. If I return it will be to order take-out and avoid the noise and the rush of late night at Undici.

ELEVEN OUT OF TEN – My experience at Undici was absolutely perfect. From the moment we entered the elegant space my wife and I were greated with warmth and enthusiasm. The atmosphere was wonderful and THE FOOD EVEN BETTER. My wife and I had a wonderful wine suggested by our waiter, whom was very friendly and gave us just the right amount of attention. We had the gnocchi as an appetiser, it was amazing! My wife had the spaghetti with shrimp in red a red sauce and she loved it. I had chicken in a light gorgonzola sauce it was fantastic. For dessert we shared a tiramisu, AWSOME! The portions were good sized and fairly priced. This restaurant is a must!

Customer Neglect – I realize the restaurant is family owned but this was ridiculous! We made reservations and still ended up waiting 30+ minutes for a table. Once we were seated they handed us our menus and gave us a couple cups of water. about 20+ minutes later they come for our order, fine.. so we get our $20+ a plate meals and are severly disappointed. My fiancee ordered the ravolli and recieved about 4-5 ravollis total. I ordered kind of a veal with squash dish and it was not at all appetizing! They never came back to ask us if we wanted drinks or refills on our water. Meanwhile the employees were sitting at a table in the corner socializing. Rediculous! The only thing I would give them credit for is their desserts. The tiramisu was great.

Savor the cuisine of Italy at this gorgeously appointed Englewood food temple frequented by a classy neighborhood clientele. – In Short
The high-ceilinged dining room at this classy Italian house of gastronomy is dimly lit, but splashed with color. Parsley-hued walls, fresh flowers, abstract artwork and a humming waterfall exude style and warmth. Patrons at dark-wood tables feast on gnocchi, risotto, ravioli and myriad veal, chicken, and fish dishes. The spacious bar area attracts a hip crowd of locals who commune on leather sofas while sipping from the moderately priced wine list.
