.. The previous review was written by a disgruntled former employee who is on a smear campaign. In reality, the new restaurant is quite beautiful, professionally staffed, and offers seafood and game delivered fresh daily.
The Grape was once an interestingly enjoyable concept, but it isn't anymore. I am a Nashville and Belle Meade native. My girlfriends and I had wine and tapas here and even several functions. They have changed the concept to a flat attempt at a Bistro. They should have stayed with the original concept and advertised. Most people didn't even know about Nashville having a Grape.
All of the professional and regular servers we had are now gone, and the service and management are both wretched! It is now called something like 360 Wine and Bistro and has a sign that could blind you in space. The decor is now not as upscale, and is poorly color coordinated with maroon, purple and black and chincy cheap salt and pepper shakers. I think the tables are now made of plywood and then covered with these black table cloths. Whose bright idea was this new concept? The buzz in my area is that it is horrible since the transition to 360 Wine Bistro and there is no turning around. No pun intended. Secondly, after giving the new concept a try, I had what tasted like frozen fish with a bland sauce and a sprig of greens for 23 dollars. It was dispicable and definitely overpriced. This change was a bad mistake.
Poor Management/ Won't go back. I enjoyed the wine and decor of this trendy bar. However, I sat at a table next to, what I was told was a manager/owner meeting, and was appalled at what I was witnessing. I heard cursing and loud talking about employess and firing the chef while they were getting drunk and eating to their hearts' content. The place was busy and it seemed as though no one was running it. I even had to wait 5 minutes at the front door before being acknowledged. There is no hostess. There appears to be no management. I was a server once, and I was astonished at how poorly such a small place seemed to run. Our server sat down at my table and talked to me and my husband like we were best friends. She talked about her last job at Cheesecake Factory and such. I thought that was totally unacceptable. Wow, I loved the wine, the food and service were mediocre at best, and I must admit having to sit next to that meeting was an eye-opener for a 3rd time guest! WOW! Not good!!!
Great for a wine tasting. Short and sweet: If you are a wine junkie like me, check this place out! The food was pretty good, but the wine selection was out of this world. I really felt like I had escaped and was on a wine excursion.
Perfect for a private wine tasting. The Grape (and Nick, the owner) is Amazing! I've held one private wine tasting there (the hummus, cheese plate and chocolate fondue are ALL superb!) and am planning another. The service and attention to detail is impeccable and promises to make even the most wine-challenged feel confident in wine selection after just one visit. I highly recommend them for any private wine tasting or just for a dinner for two... great food, great wine, great service... the trifecta!!
Wine winner. I love a good glass of wine, but am not knowledgeable about wines at all. Which is exactly why The Grape was a winner. Our server was patient, attentive and extremely helpful. More than willing to share their wine expertise. The decor is warm, and brings a comfortable atmosphere to the place. We didn't have dinner, but we did have the cheese plate, which was very small, but even then our server was on the spot with the cheese/wine pairing. The prices were higher than I expected, but the diversity in wines was worth it. I would recommend for a small group, 2 - 4 people.
Very Grape!. Yes, that is what I mean. Everything is purple, even the napkins. If you do not know how to pair wine with food, this is the place! The menu does this and even explains why certain wines go with different foods. I have learned that wine can compliment what you eat and some foods will ruin a great wine. With the selection they have you also get a chance to try many new wines.
Awesome wines. New favorite spot for wine in town. They have a lot of wines you don't see anywhere else. Food was very good as well ( had a steak sandwich). It seems like a great spot to people watch too. I recommend trying their Oriel wines. On Mondays they do a half-off bottle night so it's agood time to try the more expensive stuff. prices are reasonable. i drink Connundrum a lot and they have it for $14 a glass, and i know it's at least $16 at Flemings. Our server told us last time that they are going to start a happy hour soon. Wednesdays are cool too.
Great atmosphere and setting. Tried the Grape recently and absolutely loved it. I'm not a wine freak but the way everything was set up made it very easy to try different wines(selection is huge). Servers and bartenders are not snobby about the wines as some other places I've been to can be. The food is perfect with the wine. Evrything mixes really well and the Quesadilla is great!! The best part about this place is the fact that there is a Wine store attached right next door to it, and you can go by the same wines by the bottle that you try in the store, as many of the wines that they have or not huge corporate names that you might see at other restaurants. The service was great, and the night we went there was live music on their patio, which was awesome(not to loud but perfect conversation music). All in all I thought that everything was great and I will definately return. Definately go check it out, whehter you're new to wine like me, or a seasoned vet!!
Love it. Excellent wine paired with amazing food. Waiter was attentive, helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back soon.
