Great little wine bar in Queen Anne. I have been to Bricco several times now, and I've got to say...I really like this place. I have had only one negative experience there (essentially ignored by the bartender) which was last summer, and since then I've been nothing but impressed. Of course, Bricco has a superb wine selection, but its cheese menu is also quite comprehensive. Pairing a trio of cheeses (with proper accompaniments) along with some great wine and perhaps a little salami is a lovely post-work snack. I've had the trout-beet salad and found the fish a bit too salty for my taste, but the panzanella bread-tomato salad is wonderful. Devin, the bartender who's been on duty of late, is very friendly and easy on the eyes...other staff are quite congenial and seem to really hustle to keep up with the clientele. On my most recent visit, our server actually comped our port, which was a nice finishing touch to the evening. Bricco does get very busy after work and in the evenings, so be prepared for a bit of a wait if you're shooting for primetime.
Thank you Bricco!. This is just what upper Queen Anne needed. Or maybe I'm just being self-centered. I love a well-endowed wine-list, a good tapas menu, a wide range of cheeses...Bricco offers all of that and more. If you get there early enough, I recommend sitting at the bar. But I have been to Bricco and been seated at a table, and had a wonderfully delicious experience. If you're in a hurry to get something to eat, Trader Joe's is around the corner. A good wine bar is about enjoying the company, enjoying the relaxation and of course, enjoying the magnificent wine. After a long day at work, relax at Bricco. We all deserve it.
Good wine but service is lacking.
My girlfriend and I were excited to try Bricco for some wine and a light dinner. We were seated fairly quickly on Saturday night, which was great. The waiter helped us select a nice bottle of wine that we enjoyed. But that's where the nice experienced ended. We ordered two entrees, and after waiting 45 minutes, we finally flagged down our waiter who realized that "the kitchen didn't get the order."
We were offered free entrees to help make up for this serious error, which was a fantastic gesture.
Still, the poor service went beyond simply missing our order. When we finally did get food, I really wanted some salt. The waiter never checked back in on us, so I wasn't able to get the salt.
Surprisingly, our waiter left while we were finishing our entre and the bartender took over. Our waiter didn't say anything to us before leaving.
The wait staff was pleasant but seemed inexperienced. I would have expected better service at a Pizza joint in the U District. Unfortunately the experience we had at Bricco was not a good one.
I recommend Bricco for wine and perhaps a snack only. Do not make Bricco your dinner plans for the evening.
Lotsa wines and cheese.....YUM!. Wow. If you like wine by the glass & cheese this is your place. About 3 dozen varieties of each. Ok, I was dragged unwillingly to this place by my girlfriends as I was thinking yet another winebar. I'm hooked! Started with a great smoked trout salad which had beets and creme fraiche. Niiice. Then we split a trio of HUGE bruschetta and devoured a really nice cheese and salumi meat plate. The entrees looked good but we were stuffed and went straight for dessert, I recommend the affogato. It's basically panna cotta gelato with a shot of espresso poured over the top but it's amazing and a nice finish. This may sound ridiculous but what really won me over were the purse hooks under the bar and all of the tables...nice touch.
the staff is friendly and the wine is primo. Love it!! Everytime we are in Seattle we will be here!! The only problem that I have is that we don't want to leave
Great Atmosphere, Food , Wine & Service. The expierence we had at Bricco was very memorable! We sat at the bar and enjoyed some wondeful wine, as well as a fabulous cheese tray. The gentleman behind the bar was very knowledgable of thier wine list and the food menu was fresh and exciting! I wish there was a place just like this in Orlando because it would be my new favorite restaurant.
Pretentious? Get Real!.
Bricco is such a great place to have a glass of wine or to share some amazing food with a friend. The menu has a great variety, ranging from small plates to entrees. I, personally, love mixing the meats and cheeses to start. They have so many great cheeses, literally something for everyone!
Whenever I go, I get the best service and the staff is always quick to suggest a great glass of wine. I think the prices are completely reasonable, especially compared to other places in Seattle.
The only downfall is that it fills up fast, but it is definately worth the wait!
Worst service I've ever experienced. Bricco was by far the WORST restaurant experience I've ever had! Never have I experienced such blatant rudeness - not a stressed-out rude (we were one of two tables there and a couple people at the bar), but flat out hostile and scowling. They do NOT like groups (we were 6 people). Perhaps the experience would have been better if we were simply a couple, but given this experience, I would never return to this restaurant.
Sweet new wine bar/Queen Anne. Met some friends at Bricco after reading about it in the paper. We had tried to get in before but all the tables/bars were full with only room at the stand-up bar. Not for me. This time we went right after work (6pm) and it was only half-full. Nice to see a wine bar with an emphasis on the Italians. Also, nice but small selection of Washington wines with a smattering of others. Lots of dark wood, candlelight, and a huge wine cellar along one wall. Been a few times now and my faves are the crab cakes, caprese salad & cece bruschetta.
third time was not a charm. I visited Bricco twice and was extremely impressed with the superior service and impressive food and wine selection. The third time, proved more than disappointing. After spotting an open table, a friend and I sat down. We were given water, and wine lists. As we perused the menu, we noticed the table to our right was vacating. Briccos is a cozy if not cramped environment, so we proceeded to save the table to our right for more guests joining us. The same person who had brought us water hurridly informed us that there was a 10-15 min. waiting list (we hadn't seen a host person when we walked in?) and then proceeded to tell us he knew "we hadn't been sitting there." I work in an industry where I am constantly referring people, Briccos will not be mentioned again. The atmosphere, food and wine are impeccable. The service, was not.
