Going by the simple ratio of cost to quality, nobody can beat Trader Joe's, at least at the things they do best, like wine and dry goods. Beware the horrific lines though.

The line curves around the store, but the wait is worth it! Stock up on healthy essentials and don't forget the flowers. The prices here can't be beat! The horseradish hummus is addictive.

Great wine, great prices – Love this place. Great prices, knowledgeable staff, great selection. I've been a fan of Trader Joe's food and wine since I lived in L.A. in the 1990's. So glad it's now in NYC - a top pick of mine!

Trader Joe's finally arrived – Trader Joe's is the only place in these times to shop. Where else can you feed a family of 2, 4, 6 or 8 for less than $6.00 per person. I made a soup which I call Trader Joe's Black Bean Soup that lasted 5 days.. every ingredient except for one spice (thank you Fairway) was Trader Joe's

Delicious food, Awesome Staff, Really Long Lines...... – I love this place, but the lines are ridiculous! A line down the block to shop after work? I get it, it's a small place and it has delicious goods. If I were you, I'd time the shopping a bit better. Maybe do it on the weekend during the day time. otherwise I love everything Trader Joe's has to offer. They have the nicest staff but my shopping experience is usually uncomfortable, bumping into people, saying sorry, shuffling, etc.

This store changed my life! – I know that sounds dramatic, but its the honest truth. When I first heard of it, I didn't even know what it was and why everyone was making such a big deal about it. I started shopping there and now i do around 90% of my shopping there. Everything is CHEAP and its the best way to eat healthy. I buy prepackaged frozen vegetables, they have all different packs so I can get a few options, I add some of their teriyaki or red curry sauce, sautee it all in a wok and in 10 minutes I have an amazing meal. I also started buying their frozen packs of berries. Strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. I throw them in the microwave to thaw, toss in one small yogurt and its better than an ice cream sundae. Almost everything I buy there (except for cashews) cost around $2.99. The staff is always cool and the selection is great. My ONLY complaint is that the line can be INSANE, which drives me crazy, it literally can run around the store. Typically, I'll go with my fiancee, and one of us will stand in line while the other does the actual shopping so we can save time. I've never been into the wine store so I couldn't tell you about that. Never did I imagine that I could eat fresh, healthy, organic products for that price. I tell all my friends and coworkers to start shopping there. Long Live Trader Joes!

I <3 Joe's – The selection at Trader Joe's rivals that of any gourmet supermarkets in the city but with competitve prices that match many wholesale sellers. They offer an excellcent selection of quality meats and cheeses, an extensive option of organic products of all kinds. The service is topnotch, with all the workers being very helpful, friendly, and even funny. The only real downside is the constant crowds and having to manuever through an endless swarm of people and the long lines that follow. But it's a small price to pay for such a premium selection and low prices.

Great Experience, Poor Quality Products – We stumbled upon Traders Joes during the week after a ramble in Union Square and decided to find out what everyone has been raving about. We were not disappointed - the produce on offer was excellent value and I was surprised everytime I picked something up that it cost less then what I pay at my local supermarket in LIC. Your expectations is that you are going to pay for this unique experience - from the excellent customer service, there is always someone their to lend their advice or make a recommendation to the speed at which the long lines still manage to get you in and out in under 3 minutes to the funky West Coast chilled out Farmers market design of the store. I was ready to give the supermarket and the wine store 10 out of 10 until I actually tried the products I bought. Disappointment dosent even come close. My expectations were high - we bought three bottles of wine and each of them tasted like vinegar - you wouldnt even use them in your cooking never mind drinking and the Trader Joes jar sauces from Korma to Curry were terrible. I even went on the website to see if I could send them my feedback but they dont even have a contact us section. Well done on all your marketing, design and competitive pricing but if the product isnt at least comparable quality to a Key Food I wont be making a second visit anytime soon.

Fresh produce and gourmet frozen foods sold at affordable prices. – In Short
Founder Joseph Coulombe started this L.A.-based convenience chain 34 years ago. Today, you can get exotic, prepackaged frozen foods, fresh salsas, huge portobello mushrooms, baby artichokes and heirloom tomatoes fresher--and cheaper--than at most supermarkets. Inexpensive meat, fish, coffees and teas, dozens of cheeses, grains and pastas cram the shelves. The frozen section features tasty treats, including barbecue chicken pizzas, mushroom risotto and salmon patties.
