Awful customer service. Having read positive online reviews, I took a necklace in to get a clasp replaced. The next Monday he called to say he had received a clasp that would work well. I told him I would stop by after work on Thursday. The next day (Tuesday), I dropped by his office at 4:45 pm; although his posted hours stated that he was open until 5, the office was closed. The next day (Weds), I e-mailed him to set up an appointment that Friday to stop by after work, which he confirmed via e-mail. When I showed up at the agreed-upon time, the office was locked. When the person inside opened it, she was unaware that I had an appointment and stated that Kim was gone for the day. I told her that he had just lost business. Kim e-mailed later that evening to state that he had mis-entered the appointment, and was in Saturday until 1:00 if I wanted to stop by. With his seeming inability to keep consistent office hours or appointments, I was not going to entrust a necklace valued at $3,000.00 to him. He doesn't seem to want the business; I would oblige him by looking elsewhere.....so I did so.

Quality Service & Pleasant Experience. K. Alan Smith goes above and beyond the expectations of any jewelry store. The service is exceptional with a genuine approach. K. Alan Smith is the best kept secret for jewelry stores in Seattle. My girlfriends and I would trust this store with any jewelry repair work. Highly recommended!

WOW. The experience I had working with Kim was great. My girlfriend and I had been looking for engagement rings for a while and we had to settle in one area or another. With Kim, we were able to get everything and more! He was willing to take time to sit with us several times to make sure that everything looked as amazing as we wished that it would be. The outcome was amazing and I will recommend him to anyone that is looking for anything that has to do with jeweler. An outstanding experience.

Want the best service? Look no further!. I found K Alan Smith's store by chance when looking for a buyer for estate jewelry. Kim was exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable, and gave me an tremendous deal on the items I was selling.

The boutique-style store is beautifully appointed with unique new items, and elegant items from the past -- a hidden gem in the heart of Seattle.

Personal Service - Exquisite Selection. I first visited this boutique jewelery shop to have my wife's ring fixed (a small ruby had fallen out). I was floored by the beautiful selection of jewelery, loose gems and fine gift items like amazing polished fossils. I highly recommend this shop to anyone with discerning taste and appreciation of personal service (no high pressure sales here). Since bringing my wife's ring to be fixed, I have purchased several pieces here - this is a world class jeweler in the heart of Seattle.

A very pleasant experience. My wife and I visited K. Alan Smith's as an afterthought. It wasn't on our list of preferred jewelers. Now it tops the list. Extremely friendly, personal, and unhurried service. A very ecclectic selection of new and estate, unique and traditional jewelry. Many things you won't find anywhere else in Seattle.
