best Seabass I ever ate – OMG! This is the best sea bass in the world. It's actually quite funny: last time we took another couple with us and I more or less forced our friend to order the sea bass. Eventually, he gave in and ordered it. While eating it he must have said the following sentence at least 50 times:" Oh my god- it MELTS in your mouth!!!" Told ya...

Annoyed – So I got my order wrong worth ($30) and I was given a gift certificate good for $10. I thought great, I'll save this for a rainy day.

Times are tight right now especially with me being a grad student in Seminary I do not make much money. So I thought hey, I have this gift card and I'll use it have some money left over for the next time I go to Kona but no they wanted me to use my entire gift card right then and there. So I left with my gift card and no food.

Right now I do not even know if I want to go back to Kona because that just is kinda rude and I overheard the manager talking about me as a "situation". I'm in management! YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT THE CUSTOMER in front of the customer!

KONA GRILL CROWD EXPANDS – Yes, it's my favorite watering hole as well, (at least until I find a better Mojito.) Happy Hour at Kona Grill, especially on Fridays has grown from a spot only visited by nearby residents and NorthPark employees to THE premier Happy Hour party for Dallasites all over.

If you haven't yet patroned Kona Grill located on the North entrance of NorthPark Mall, don't miss Happy Hour M-F 3-7pm, Reverse Happy Hour M-R 9-11pm, F-S 10pm-midnight.

Kona Grill is an exotic mixture of American cuisine and award-winning sushi. Complete with the world's most talented Sushi chefs, a beautiful Sushi Bar and a breath-taking 2,000 gallon aquarium, my entree recommendations include ...

PotStickers (Pan-seared chicken and vegetable dumplings, with a traditional soy dipping sauce)

Avocado Egg Rolls (with Sun-dried tomatoes and red onions, with a honey-cilantro dipping sauce)

Sushi Sampler (Shrimp, tuna, salmon sushi and California Roll , served with a house salad)

My favorite drinks include:

Kirin Gekkeikan Sake Bomber (Ladies, it only takes one. Unless, you're a pro like me.)

Mojitos and Margaritas

bad sushi – We went to dinner on Tuesday night. We got seated right away. We ordered sushi, bbq pizza and calamari. my friend left to get her daughter some candy and 4 minutes after she left the food came. I'm not exaggerating on this. All of it together. the waitress was even surprised that the sushi came out so fast. I'm sure that the sushi was made in advance because the rice just didn't taste right. the tempura roll had hardly any shrimp and the spicy tuna was horrible. Next time I go, I guess I should try the macadamia nut chicken like the other reviewers and maybe I'll ask them to make fresh sushi. pizza and calamari were ok but nothing to go back for.

Great place – These neg reviews take the cake. People listen up, this place has great atmosphere, good service and wonderful food. Don't pay attention to the competition on here trying to diss them for not having sweet and low on the table. LOL. Try the bone in ribeye. Yum.

Wonderful food and ambiance – Absolutely wonderful! I can't believe this place is in a mall! The ambiance is incredible and the service is great but the food is absolutely amazing. I have been on several occasions. My favorite appetizers are the calamari (it has a very light batter) and the tuna wasabi (do not miss this it is the absolute best!). I also really suggest the macadamia nut chicken. The portion is huge and you could definitely split it if you are getting an appetizer, dessert, or sushi with it. Their sushi is great and they offer several rolls with soy paper instead of seaweed (this was great for my mother who hates seaweed). They have an extensive drink list as well. Their desserts sound great but I am always too full! This place is a must try!

Worth a visit and improvements – Went to Happy Hour recently, the bar was unusual and fun, margarita was weak, calamari not cookes well. Bartenders were friendly and helpful but didn't wash their hands before handling food. A good manager would correct these things.

We visited Kona the other night after a movie. We had a most wonderfull time. The food was GREAT! the service was impecable! It was a delight that we were treated the way we were. Our server was Rob, he greeted us immediately after the host had sat us. Tour guided us through the menu and made suggestions as to what we may be in the mood for. We had the calamari as an appatizer, which was delicious. We sampled some sushi, the rainbow roll which Rob suggested gave us a variety of flavor. Then my husband had the seabass which was outragiously incredible and I had the macadamia nut chicken and it was to die for. I had enough to take home!. I highly recomend Kona Grill if you're in the North Park Mall, or in that area. We will be returning. Rob also suggested Kona's Happy Hour. He said it was more like "Club Kona" in the bar and patio and that they had great specials, good music, and great people to be around. For anyone wanting to be at the place to be... Kona Grill! Good Food! Good Music! Great Atmosphere, and STELLAR SERVICE!!!!! Oh yeah, don't forget the Sushi!

NEVER AGAIN – I went to Kona's with a group of 11 for a birthday dinner and the service was by far the WORSE service I have ever experienced. It was a Monday night and the restuarant was not busy at all, but we still didn't get the attention that we deserved. The hostess only put together 3 small tables and cramped the setting around us, and when we asked to put another table together - she said she couldn't and just handed us more chairs. On top of that - the waitress was unprofessional and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. They also forgot to make one of the plates and it didn't come out until after everyone was finshed eating. The manager did NOT apologize or try to comp that plate. I would not recommend this place for anyone. I only wish the WORST for this resturant.

Unsanitary Conditions – I have been to hang out in the bar many times as well as dine for lunch in the dining room. All times before I have eaten and the food seems good. Yesterday took the cake for me. I was thankfully just hanging out having a couple of drinks. I had gone to the restroom and after I completed washing my hands I noticed an employee exit a stall and walk directly out of the restroom, grab his tray and head to a table. I did immediately notify the manager, but have no idea what transpired as I left. Needless to say, my friends and I will not be returning.
