Thin crust, thin service, and thin on competence – I ordered this for my kids lunch one day. I was told it would be half an hour. I live right around the corner. An hour later I called to see what happened and a few minutes later the delivery guy showed up. It was a real simple order; one pie with a la carte toppings of roasted peppers, black olives, and sweet Italian sausage.
The pizza came with kalamata olives, hot spicy sausage, and had hot pepper flakes sprinkled on it. Needless to say my kids couldn't eat it. Not only that but half of the crust on the pie was burnt. Not dark, burnt black and unpalatable. I also found the pizza to be excessively oily. Being a trained chef, perhaps I'm too demanding, but for $30 I expected better. I won't be patronizing or recommending this establishment to anyone in the future. For real pizza just stick with Lombardis, Johns, or even Patsys.
Great Food! – We were sent here by a mutual friend, and we've been back a million times. We never get tired of the delicious assortment of salads and combo of american and Italian cuisine. The prices are reasonable, the wine is good, the food incredible. It's gourmet!
Great Thin Crust Pizza – Vezzo is a cute thin crust pizzeria in Murray Hill that never fails to deliver great food. I often go for lunch with coworkers and we especially like it when we can sit outside. You have a bunch of options to choose from: slice of pizza and house salad - $5, personal pizza and house salad - $10, half a sandwich and salad ~$8. We all look forward to the house salads because it's seriously one of the best we've had. The garlic dressing is so delicious and the marinated mushrooms and olives are a nice addition. We also love the pizza and sandwiches, so it's a sure-fire win no matter what you choose. The only issues are that the service can be slow and you may need to wait a long time for a table during the lunch rush period. But if you can squeeze in and you have a little time to spare, go for it!
YUM – They have really good pizza. Good service and reasonable prices. They need to invest in some wine glasses, but they do have a decent bar. If you want great pizza and a smile, go here. This is not regular pizza. They make everything to order and it is superbly delicious.
Great Pizza! – The thin crust pizza along with a Caesar Salad is delicious!
Vezzo is a regular place for us. When we can't go to the restaurant we order in and we're never disappointed. Highly recommended!
QUICKLY became our favorite spot – My brother and I work about 15 blocks from each other and stumbled upon Vezzo during our biweekly lunch outing. We were trying this place because CPK on Park seemed too busy - but since we started going, we haven't been ANYWHERE else. We get the exact same thing every single time... Chixpotle pizza with jalapenos on the side. It's SO good that in the days before we go to lunch, we start emailing each other saying "Vezzo vezzo vezzo"... and when one of us can't make it, we usually have our pizza delivered!! God, this place is good. By the way, we also love the Bruschetta.
I didn't give it the FULL five star rating because sometimes it seems like the service is a bit standoffish... and of course, the tiny tables don't make it the easiest meal.
It's so worth it though. My mouth is watering already because he and I are going this Wednesday. We keep swearing we'll try something new there, but we just want the chixpotle too bad every time...!
Best thin crust in NY – Ive eaten thin crust before, but when i went here i was surprised it was so good.
Been there a couple of times since then.
we love it here – tonight's biggest disapointment: not our secret anymore! so busy on a monday night but food was still so good.
delicious food, worth traveling from the west side for. the waitress is so funny. she is honest about what she likes and doesnt like on the menu which makes you trust here. but the food is the winner. cheap and delish!
PREJUDICE WITH PREGNANT WOMEN WITH NO MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISION – My wife is 7 months pregnant and waited over 20 minutes just to place an order to go. The waitress/cashier served a customer who was standing behind my wife in line. But when my wife asked politely if she could take her order to go, the waitress/cashier ignored her and walked away. So my wife walked out without being served.
When she told me about how she was treated, I was upset with this and called to complain to the manager but they told me there is no management in the establishment. I then asked to speak to the owner but they said the owner hardly comes around. What?s more aggravating was that when I called they had me speak to a delivery boy and then a waitress, both who have no authority to help a customer.
As good as you may think the food is, the fact that an establishment DOES NOT have any supervision means the workers do WHATEVER they want. Whether it?s treating a customer poorly or contaminating the food, I would not trust a place with no supervision.
I am still waiting to speak to the owner of Vezzo to file my complaint.
Great everything, except the phone girl. – I love their pizza, you can't beat the lunch specials, the house salad dressing is fantastic. It's really the best thin crust pizza I've ever had. My only issue is with their phone girl. She's nasty and rude and has a serious attitude problem as if I'm there to serve her instead of vice versa. Everything is a chore and an inconvenience for her, and nothing is friendly about her tone. If you're going there to eat in, you should enjoy the experience.
