Best place to view all types of doors and windows on display – Seattle Door is by far the best place in area to really look at what we needed for our house remodel. You just can't get the right answers or touch and feel doors and windows like you can at this showroom. The staff is well experienced and very professional. We found the pricing to be better than the other door and window shops we visited over last 3 months. Beware that there are some negative comments on citysearch about this store but manager explained how many competitors post feedback, as he personally folows up on every post (that is why I am writing this post). They do not have their own installers for windows/ doors but have great contractors they work with and will give you quote on install. Nice because this way you don't pay mark up that typical contractor makes even though we did all the buying and specifying from our plans.
Absolutely awful customer service. Incompetent!!!!!!! – Seattle Door and Window is an absolutely awful place to do business. Brad the general manager should be fired as soon as humanly possible. Howe does a person like this keep a job? Does the owner know or even care how their business is being operated? Completely incompetent!!!!! Beware!!! Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else!!!!
A great place to be screwed over and over – I ordered two windows from Seattle Doors and windows. They had a good price and the Milgard windows were acceptable. I went back and ask them to order two more windows Identical to the first two I ordered except they had to be a different size. Size was the only thing that changed.
When the windows arrived they didn't have grids in the glass like the first windows had. Ryan, who works for Seattle Doors and Windows had forgotten to add the grids to the purchase order even though I had told him to make the windows identical except for height and width. When I signed the purchase order all I looked at was the width and height dimensions. I wasn't expecting that they would screw up the rest. To make a long story short, they admitted that they had made a mistake but since I had signed the purchase order I am stuck with the windows! I would never do business again with a company like this. Please stay away from Seattle Doors and Windows.
OK so it is now 12/10/2009. My glass has finally been replaced. It still cost me $100 out of my pocket even though I feel it was their fault. I only did this as Small Claims Court would have cost me almost the same.
The windows are great, the price was great, the hassle.....................never again.
If you want a great price go ahead and try them. Just be careful and read everything. They do have the best price in town.
I wish I could say some nice things, but I will just say read everything twice. Brad made an effort to make a satisfied customer. Good luck.
Avoid at all costs !!!! – A year ago and before this was a good solid place to get doors and windows. They seemed to know their product.
Now I go in and they don't seem to know who I am after giving them my blueprints and waiting for over a month with no return calls to me.
Finally I go in to get my plans, they cant find them. They act like they dont know me. Then they remember me and tell me that they thought they called me to let me know that they would not be able to do my custom doors. They were getting out of small jobs and did not have time for my 7 doors.
I could smell marijuana as the salesman looked up and said, "Oh your still here?"
They never found my blueprints. I left a message for the manager or owner to call me back but no one ever did.
AVOID THIS PLACE. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING.- Tom Owens Gen. Cont.
Terrible service, do not use SD&W – I began working with SD&W on a project about 6 months ago, and because we did not want to use their subcontractor who made an overpriced bid on our project, we received such atrocious service that I would not only not recommend them to a friend, but would urge anyone looking for doors to look elsewhere! Project management skills are non-existent and it was a pain in the ass to deal with key staff. Avoid!
Five star experience at Seattle Door – Our remodel is just about complete..and I wanted to pass along our thanks to Seattle Door for a professional start to finish experience with their company. From the time we walked into the show room, to the delivery of the last door of our project, we have had the best in customer service. Ryan and the staff were very helpful in the selection of the doors and offered great suggestions which resulted in a fantastic looking finished product. Thanks Seattle door...
Hands down the best place to buy a new front door! – I typically do not write reviews on citysearch, but my experience with Seattle Door and Window was so great I though I'd share. When we discovered a manufacturer defect in our door it was taken care of immediately without hassle. The installers, Dylan and Mitch were professional, respectful of our home and friendly. I recommend this company to anyone looking for a new door or windows.
Best Service, Best Price, Delivery when expected. – I went to several door stores to find a three-horizontal-panels door match for my 1940's home and found high end companies with high end prices. At Seattle Door and Window, Howard was able to quote the price for the special order within a couple hours, and promised to deliver within a couple weeks. The doors were in 5 days early. The price was the lowest I could find but the quality was identical as they were made by the same manufacturers. Howard stayed in touch both by email and phone so there were no unhappy surprises. The reparte was pleasant and friendly. I went back with my next construction needs and they were just as accommodating. Who could ask for more?
Low price = untrained staff, unkept promises, and horrible customer service – I run a small construction company in Seattle and chose to send a client to Seattle Door and Window for convenience. They were given a good price, but I had to really babysit the sales-person, because he had no clue about his product line. The order filled behind schedule, and assembled wrong. I had to take several hours out of my workday to try to remedy the situation, driving the product back for an exchange.
One of the doors was damaged--by me--in the interim, and after dropping off the incorrect order at their location, I was called and told to come pick up my (stuff). It was without question the rudest I've ever been treated by anyone in any sales profession.
Looking to accept some culpability for bringing back the damaged item, I asked the owner/manager something to the effect of, "Yes I scratched the door, the wrong door, spending my time and effort to correct your mistake, how 'bout we split it?" I was told I'd have to pay full retail for another to exchange and wait over a week to have it hung, when earlier that day the salesman who helped me unload the damaged door said the replacement order would be ready in a day.
I walked out with my incorrect, damaged doors, drove north to their competitor, and was treated to prompt and gracious customer service, for about a 15% premium. I will never shop Seattle Door and Window again. I will warn all of my customers and fellow tradespeople away from them.
Windows and doors are a one time thing for most homeowners and the low up-front price is tempting, but its been my experience that Seattle Door and Window will cost you more in time and frustration than they could ever save in dollars.
