Nobody's home... – I have never been to this place, but not because I haven't tried. I've called the phone number listed, but it goes to a voicemail. Message left explaining that I would like to inquire about daycare for my dog...did not get a return call. Judging from what others have said about service issues, maybe this is a blessing.

Horrible Experience – I brought my 1 year old rescue 50lb dog to Canine Cabana for her "evaluation." At which time the owner took her in the back and let her play to ensure she would be accepted. She passed and stayed the day for final approval. Upon picking her up, she looked like she had the time of her life, as she is very energetic and absolutely loves playing with other dogs. Upon the next visit, another staff member brought her out and when I asked how she was she said "she's always great, she just loves playing."

Come to our 5th visit and suddenly the owner pulls me aside telling me simply my dog has "no boundaries." I asked her to elaborate. She’s here to play; I don’t expect her to have “boundaries” in a huge concrete room filled with other dogs. She then told me she should be able to come on command to her name being called. I said “so if I go back there and call a dog’s name, it’s going to come to me.” She then said, well it doesn’t matter; I can’t have her invading other dog’s space and making them uncomfortable.

It’s clear the owner is lazy. She wants perfect dogs that I guess are there to sleep all day. If you’re dog requires any attention or wants to play, that’s a “problem.” Maybe she could pick up a tennis ball and throw it every now and then to drain some energy instead of yelling at my dog all day, which I could tell after this encounter was clearly the case. I support small business owners and their right to choose clients, but I also believe every dog, whether a rescue, high energy, small quirks, should be loved and helped to deal with how to be socialized. This company does not support this attitude. Their attitude, if your dog wants to play with a 10lb dog and that dog doesn’t want to play, then your dog is out.

And owner, if you would like to respond to this posting as you did one’s previously with similar issues with you, maybe you would take a phone call when both me and my husband tried to contact you multiple times to discuss this issue before taking to reviews and you were “unavailable.”

great place – We bring our puggle here for day care and boarding when we have gone out of town and she could not be more excited. As soon as we pull in, she is running around the car trying to get out. I have no hesitation leaving her here. and the staff could not be nicer and more dedicated. Lisa the owner is fabulous and passionate about what she does.

Veterinary Recommended!! – I just wanted to say how great this place is. I recently adopted a rescue dog that needed a little bit of socialization and confindence building. Spending his days playing with other dogs has truly helped him to realize that being attached to his new mommys side is not the only fun place in the world. Lisa and her staff are so wonderful with him, taking their time to reassure him and keep his attention back when being away from me made him a little neurotic. A little love and tenderness was all it took to help him go from a dog that wanted nothing more than to leave daycare to one that goes right to all the staff members without even looking back at me. Even when I picked him up tonight, I was outside chatting with the owner and he kept walking back to the front door wanting to get back inside! That is when you know your dog LOVES his daycare. Lisa and Staff, Thank you so much!!

KIND DOG LOVERS WHO TAKE THEIR WORK SERIOUSLY ... I LOVE CANINE CABANA! – First let me say don't own a part of Canine Cabana and I have no personal relationship with it's owners in any way. With that out of the way ... let me say that I have had nothing but the most amazing experiences at CANINE CABANA. I don't know what reviewer "emyli" experienced at CANINE CABANA but it is certainly the antithesis to what I experience a few times a week with my very hyper excited dog. Was the owner thorough when going through the application and evaluating my dog? Yes. I'm I'm glad, because that means she is as thorough with every other dog she accepts. When I drop my dog off to be under someone else's care for a good period of time, I don't want to hesitate for one moment that she is being looked after and by people who care enough to vet (pun intended) each dog they let my dog play with.

Being a "Type A" personality, I researched many doggie daycares in the Hollywood area and ended up trying two. Canine Cabana is the only doggie daycare in the city that has consistently been recommended to me by friends, animal loving strangers on the street and my own clients. This is always backed up by how well I am treated as a customer and even more importantly, how my beloved dog is treated in my absence and how happy she is to get to the door of CANINE CABANA everytime I bring her.

Unkind, does not return calls, not nice to customers or dogs – I left voice messages on 2 occasions inquiring about services and was never contacted. My boyfriend scheduled an appt. with her to bring my dog in and she was unfriendly towards him and treated my dog like she was unacceptable and should come in on a day when the "regular" dogs weren't there so as not to make them uncomfortable. She told us to make an immediate appt. with the vet to get all her paperwork updated which we did ASAP and scheduled another interview the following day. My boyfriend came in with her, and due to the fact that we had forgotten one small initial she would not take our dog in. She was completely unhelpful and rude and didn't seem to know how to handle dogs. She acted like my dog was "bad" because she was hyper and excited to be in a new environment. Everyone else who works with dogs understands this and knows how to deal with a dog's excitability. I would never trust her with my dog and am blown away at how she conducts business. I'm taking my dog to Rover Kennels, they're awesome, helpful, and understand dogs.

Canine Cabana cares and DOES return calls – Hello, my name is Lisa and I'm responding to the gentleman that recently wrote a review for Canine Cabana that we don't return phone calls and that we did not answer his calls. I was alerted to this by a current customer because they know that we do return calls and would NEVER tell someone that "we're busier than the last time you were here!" That's just not us or our way of communicating with our customers whatsoever. I, the owner, am also here working at my business every...single...day. This is my heart and my business, and I see the dogs faces that come in and out of Canine Cabana every day. They give me kisses when they come in and I give them their "bye-bye treats" when they go home. We also retain our employees for a long time, as I would rather pay good money to keep people that the dogs know and love than turn over staff every month. That being said, there is not an employee here that would tell someone that I "rarely come in" because that's just not true and I'm here day in and day out. If the phone call goes to voicemail it is because we are either face-to-face with a customer in our lobby and giving them a tour or checking them in or out (and I/we would never ask that person to stop and wait while we answer the phone). That's why we do ask people to please leave a message and we will call back just as soon as possible. And I can't imagine ANY business that would not return anyone's phone call that wants to give them their business. Who would turn away business because they didn't want to return a phone call? Certainly not us, and I can't imagine who would. If this person was a disgruntled customer for ANY reason, I apologize for that as we love and care for all our customers, canine and human. However I don't quite understand his argument with regard to the response by our employee, as that would NEVER be something that is said to a client. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I just wanted to say that we care. ;)

Give it a try – Good place to take your pet. Staff is friendly and competent. Smell is a bit strong when you enter but what can you expect, i'm sure they clean as best they can. Wish they would answer the phone more, so you don't have to always leave a message but overall i'm glad I don't have to "freak" out when i have to leave my baby. the owner Lisa is great and it shows that she truly loves the dogs.

They do NOT return phone calls – thought it was a bit odd that I had left a couple of messages on their answering machine and nobody had returned my call, so I decided to visit the cabana where I was greeted with a warm welcome by the Owner Lisa. Who quickly put me at ease about leaving my dog with them.

Again, I wanted to board my dog there for a week, and left 2 messages in 1 week period. No Call from the cabana. Then I resorted to Email.. No response from the Cabana. Again the following week, I left yet another message on their answering machine stating that I'd like a call back even if they do not want my business.

Finally a few hours later, a pleasant girl called me back inquiring about when i'd like to leave my dog.

I said, im sorry, is this normal proceedure? She said, excuse me? I said, Ive called 3 times plus an email an you are finally getting back to me, is this normal turn around time? She stated, yes, we're busier than the last time you left your dog. I said, so it takes 3 calls and an email before you return calls? She said, if its not an emergency yes. I said, okay, I'd like to speak to the owner, she said, she rarely comes in.

I said, can you have her call me, then gave her my number, and said.. please tell The Owner that its an Emergency..

3 days later, im still waiting for a return call.

If you cant take 'em with you.....take 'em to the Cabana – Until we found Canine Cabana we never felt comfortable going on trips and leaving our doggies. Lisa and her staff are top notch and very caring. They really get to know the dogs and it is apparent that they love what they do. We never hesitate to take our dogs there for day care or for extended stays. We are so glad we found Lisa and Canine Cabana.
