NEVER GOING BACK! DISGUSTING EMPLOYEES AND POLICY! – I do not recommend Solo as a club at all. Their employees attempt to run the place as if this is LA. They lie about being at capacity, when really they only let people in who bribe them at the door. The bouncers take bribes while they make people wait for HOURS in line! This is absolutely unacceptable! The security at the front door were aggressive and made derogatory comments to people in line. Then once you pay the over-priced cover for the club, the workers inside are rude and are quite unprofessional. People were stumbling drunk all over the place, and none of the staff did anything to take care of these people, selling drinks to people who were obviously already too drunk. Disgraceful, and Solo should be boycotted. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! – I went to solo with a couple of my girl friends last night, we waited in the VIP line, (which always happens to be longer than the regular line) as we watched as many girls dressed like strippers get let in the front door right as they walk up.

When inside, we are coming out of the bathroom and we are confronted by my friends ex boyfriend, they proceed to yell at each other and I try to stay out of it until he started calling her names, then I threw my cocktail napkin at him. My friends ex boyfriend is a regular at the club so the jacka** bouncers kicked my friend out. And because I threw a napkin (which I am sure did not hurt him) they kicked me out as well. Now, they could of just asked me to leave, but they are bouncers who like to act tough, so they grabbed me by the arm and literally dragged me down their back stairs, until I yelled at them to get their dirty hands off of me! One of the bouncers even proceeded to laugh in my face. I have NEVER been treated this poorly at any portland club ever! However, Solo's bouncers are all a bunch of losers who only work at a club because that is the only way they will ever get into one, and they have some false sense of power, as if their job really matters. Get over yourself, you are a bouncer, and once you leave that club your just a loser that no one could care less about.

I will never go back to this club. I reccomend it only for loser bouncers and sluttly girls, all who feel like they have something to prove.

Not worth they hype! – I had heard a lot of hype about SoLo so my friends and I decided to try it out. The girls got on VIP so that was cool but unfortunatley the guys had to wait in line and pay $20 each to get in. Good thing we got there early because some other friends got there late and they were charging $40 to get in! Last time I checked, this is Portland, NOT LA or Vegas. Once the night got underway, the music was extremely disappointing. They played music from the early 90's and 80's. Who the heck listens to a house version of Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody at an upscale "trendy" club??? The music was terrible but the bar was nice and we got our drinks fast.

Overall, SoLo is NOT worth the long lines or the cover charge. Someone needs to tell the management or owners that they are in Portland and not LA or Vegas and they're not fooling anyone. I won't ever go here again.

NOT LA!! – Someone needs to tell the promoters and staff that they work at a bar in PORTLAND and not L.A. They treat everyone like they are "lesser" people. It's rediculous. They have 3 bars that are so small that it takes forever to get a drink. If you enjoy this, standing in a line for over an hour, paying $20 for horrible service and watered down drinks then you should go. Also, for girls that are classy, DO NOT GO HERE. I felt like I should be wearing clothes with coverage equivalent to a bikini, overdone MAC makeup, and had my hair done professionally to fit in.

Not worth a lineup... but otherwise cool – I have gone been going to Solo now for a long time, and it seems like just as of this summer, it has totally blown up! It was fun at first, but now, not at all. The people at the door have been SO rude. Don't even bother with getting on "the list" because "the list" closes at 10:30pm. I'm usually still getting ready or eating at that time. Also, they put everybody and their grandfathers on "the list"- one Sat night my friends and I actually got out of "the list" line to get in the regular line, which was shorter. The upstairs space is huge, and the subterranean lounge is very cool. The bartending staff is absolutely awesome, although it takes a while to get to them when they are slammed. Once you do, however, they are super sweet. Overall though, don't waste your time in the line or your money on the cover; try it out if its not packed, but otherwise, try out somewhere else.

Too bad the service and management ruined such a cool bar – I rented out the upstairs at SoLo last year for a party. It was a great time and everyone loved it. I hadn't been back until this past weekend. I have heard that there is new management since the last time I was there. It is a cool bar with a good vibe. Unfortunately the service and management are so bad I would not recommend returning, especially for the prices. First of all the price for renting out the upstairs is almost double what we paid last year. I called and asked if they took dinner reservations, I was told yes, so I made reservations for 15, the girl said thank you and hung up. I had to call back and ask if I had given her a time for the reservation, she asked "oh, you wanted a specific time?" Isn't that the point of reservations? So then I try to confirm for a week and only get an answering machine. My friend who got there early asked about our reservation and was told they don't take reservations! WTF!? Why was I told they did and why did they take my name? Then we were charged for more than we bought, we were not charged the happy hour prices for a lot of our food and drinks. It was so difficult that we finally just paid the bill rather than try to get them to charge us the appropriate prices. It is amazing how far this place has fallen in the past year. Unless they get a new management team and run the business better I would not recommend going to this bar.

Something Different in the Pearl, but in a good way – Even though SoLo has been opened for almost 2 years, I never had a desire to go there until recently. It happend by mistake, I was heading towards First Thursday and I found parking literally on NW Lovejoy & 13th. I made my way through the pearl and decided to finish my night at SoLo and I was totally amazed of how nice this place looks and how friendly the bartenders were. We were able to sip 2 various vodkas I've never heard of before and we weren't constantly interrupted to ask what we wanted. The restaurant and bar I have to admit is farily on the smaller side (restaurant holds 40 people and the bar holds about 10ish) Everyone was friendly and the prices were reasonable. I'd say its a great place to take a date. The outdoor seating when available is great, only downside is the smell of hops from Bridgeport Brewery. ***The recently just opened up LUX, which is a great new nightclub that offers couches/sofas that surround the dance floor, 2 bars on both sides of the stage. There are doors that lead to their outside balcony that wraps around. The music is great and the crowd all looked like they were extras on HBO's Entourage or MTV the Hills...The crowd is hot, the bartenders are great and the staff are friendly. I highly recommend going to LUX, but get there before 11p or you'll be waiting in line for awhile...

Crowded but fun! – SoLo reopened their "dance floor" on the 16th, and it seems like it was a success. We'd heard about it through the grapevine but didn't realize that so would everyone else. We waited for awhile, but weren't surprised. I mean, come on. Do you really expect to go to any club these days that's even halfway decent and not have to wait? Once inside it was crowded, sure, but it was a good crowd, which makes it tolerable. I think they might not have been expecting to get slammed with business as hard as they did because staff was pretty crazy, but for their first night "out of the box?" Not to shabby. My girlfriends and I will be back!

Worst Experience at a Club – Solo was overcrowded, and had terrible bouncers. Waited an hour and a half to get in, and watched dozens of people let through by the bouncers even though we (and a huge line behind use) were VIP. Getting in was a let down. horrible music and a bad crowd. We will never go back. Hands down worst experience out in portland.

Never Go Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – I go out with a few freinds and the inside of it has music just as loud as a sold out Blazer game. We have to sit outside and it is about 70 and the have these stupid heaters so i'm cooking. Then a big bus comes by and we start to die of gasoline intake. We pay and scram to thee place upstairs. they have a deck and it was like heaven and Solo was like hell!
