best salon experience EVER!! thanks Kayla! – I just got back from my first visit to Salon Rouge and it will not be my last!!
I have curly hair and often times I have a hard time finding a stylist who is good with curly hair.
Richard gave me a great cut and brightened up my naturally drab color.
I am telling everyone about this place.
Nell should be your new stylist! – Just had my third cut and color with Nell, and I am finally getting around to reviewing. I felt compelled to now, because she is so consistently awesome!
Not only was she able to make my long blonde hair look professional and clean, but when I was ready to get rid of it (this third time) she gave me a fantastic chic shorter cut. Her color work is beautiful, I get so many compliments!
But wait, there's more! She has a fantastic personality, and conversation is never an effort (unlike many I've gone too). Be sure to ask her for restaurant recommendations, this girl has great taste in food, not just hair and style!
Amazing experience with Jeanne! – I got a groupon for a hair cut and color, and could not have been happier with my experience. Jeanne is friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and thorough. I am getting married in a week and was in very capable hands -- hands down it was the best salon experience I have ever had. I love my new look and will definitely be coming back!
Jean Did An AMAZING Job – I bought the Groupon like everyone else and decided to give this place a try. I liked Jean instantly, she is is an attentive listener. I have very long, naturally curly coarse hair. I needed a cut and color but felt comfortable enough with Jean to allow her to blow my hair out for the very first time. I look FANTASTIC. My color is multi-tonal, my cut is flattering and elegant but the blow out was a revelation. I loved it so much I went back 2 days later for the Brazilian blow out. I could not be happier and will be a returning customer. The atmosphere is chic and charming but more importantly I found a stylist I really trust and who made me look beautiful.
Thank you Jean.
Don't get a haircut with Jean – I got my haircut here after buying a groupon. The stylist Jean went to town on my hair. After telling her that I wanted to keep it as long as possible and not do bangs or layers in the front she did all three. She cut off 5 inches in some parts which will take probably a year to grow back! As she was cutting I watched in horror. I also told her in the beginning that I don't like when stylists cut bangs that sweet over to the side because it my hair wont do that unless I have an hour to spend with a hairdryer and lots of hairspray, and she went into this long thing about how she went to hair cutting school that teaches stylists how to cut it in a way that falls naturally... well guess what.. sweeping bangs is exactly what i left the store with. I like this salon and it's pretty cute- i won't go again but for someone else I'd say maybe give it a try but ask for someone other than Jean.
I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your service. Unfortunately miscommunications happen, especially between people who are meeting for the first time. Jeanne feels awful that you left feeling less than great.
As I told you on the phone, we are interested in making an unfortunate situation into a better one and I was sincere when I said that I hoped we could make it up to you somehow. We are passionate about what we do and sometimes we get it wrong. For that, I apologize.
Had the best brazilian blowout by Richard! – I don't usually like doing something so drastic for a first visit, but after an initial consultation with Richard, I was confident I had chosen the right place. I live across the street at Laurel Village so it's super convenient. I was leary of Brazilian blowouts because of all the press about formaldehyde, however the gentlemen at the front desk assured me they were using the new brazilian blowout zero.. (and he even showed me the bottle that stated absolutely no formaldehyde in the bottle or any that would be released during the process).
The salon is beautiful. It's a smaller space, but that makes it feel even more special. The glass of wine is a nice touch too. :)
It's been over a month and I am still thrilled with the results. I noticed it yesterday with the humidity that my hair was still straight and smooth. ( I have grown to hate doing my hair in the summer, because styles never hold).
I booked an appointment for cut and color 2 weeks after my first visit and Richard talked me into something a little outside of my standard do, but I LOVE IT!!
It was 250.00 for the blowout which I thought was a good deal (I'm from LA where that would be a steal) and the cut and color was 125.00 which I also thought was fantastic, considering
a) he's the owner
b) he used Oribe haircare on me (which is top of the line!)
c)the complimentary glass of wine. (ok, two.. but don't judge!)
d)how beautiful the place is and how beautiful my hair turned out.
Where did Angela go? – Angela has always done a great job. When I called this week I was informed she is no longer at this salon. Anyone know where she has gone?
Angela is now working @ Hair Police in Uptown!
Beautiful color and decor. LOVE IT! – I had a foil done by Kate and the turnout was nothing short of amazing. I'm extremely picky about my hair and have hopped around from stylist to stylist over the years since my old one moved away 3 years ago but I'm POSITIVE I've finally found the Holy Grail of foils. I usually go very blond but decided I wanted to darken it up a bit - was nervous - but Kate did such a fantastic job. Everyone has been commenting on how nice my hair looks and I'm so happy with it. She's a true pro and adorable to boot, not to mention very fun and personable.
The decor of the space is truly incredible. Te best I've ever seen Richard has amazing taste. I wish my house looked like the inside of his salon!
Thanks again Salon Rouge (and Kate) for the fab experience. I will be back!
Awesome Natural Blonde - Thanks, Richard! – This salon is a wonderful hidden oasis of big city chic right downtown Minneapolis. Richard did a fine job of making my color look as gorgeous as the picture of Charlize Theron that I referenced.
If you're like me and have been forever looking for a colorist that really "gets it" then Richard's your man.
Thanks, Richard! I'll be back!!
I had a fantastic cut and highlight from Richard – I purchased a groupon back in February and was a bit nervous who I would get set up with for a cut and color. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff was (small space, but the staff all seemed to genuinely be having fun at work) and my color was the best I have ever had. I am growing my hair out, so I just had a little trim but it has been easy to style myself.
I will definitely be back and I appreciate them not treating me like a cheapo since I purchased a groupon.
