If you've got the money, honey... – A lot of really nice items under one roof, and might be well worth it, but the stuff is expensive. I noticed that they weren't overcharging for certain mainstream items, like Puma shoes, but were really marking up other more obscure items, like clothing by Z-brand, a diesel-esque brand from California. Granted, there are some things here that you probably won't find elsewhere, but for most purposes this place prices itself out of most people's range. Some people like to be noticed for how expensive their clothing is, but the joke's on them when you can find the same stuff elsewhere for less. Hint: go to futurgarb for Z-brand and the like. It's just down the road and surprisingly cheap for a lot of the same brands, though for a slightly younger crowd.
Completely rude, condescending salesman – I recently visited Scoop for the first time. After my first turn through the shop, a very self-important clerk asked if I needed help. I asked if there was a cleaner version (without a giant skull on it) of the particular item that I was shopping for. The clerk explained to me as if speaking to a child that the item cost over $700, he redirected me to cheap trendy store in another neighbhorhood, and snidely complained about how unsophisticated the Chicago market is. Good riddance. Too bad, the store has some lovely things, but this person would need to be fired for me to purchase anything there.
Scoop NYC – The best thing about this place is Season and the parking lot. If you find that you want to shop there, call ahead and ask for Season....she is awesome. The rest of the staff is mediocre at best. If I wanted to shop with attitude, I'll hit bloomies.
