I found my salon after 2 years! – Normally I don't write reviews, but this salon was worth the extra time to sign up and share the experience. I?ve been salon hoping for about 2 years, but I think I?ve found ?The One?. I heard of this place from my roommate. Her cut was so sleek I figured ?ehh why not??
Great ambience, seasonal decor, modern clean comfort, aromatic teas/sparkling water/champagne/cafe drink options, personable staff with style, everything esthetically pleasing.
Stas, head-stylist and owner, was very professional and passionate. When he started talking about my hair and making his suggestions I knew I was in good hands. My previous hair experience was being a hair model ? bad news bears. I was given a short bob with ?raspberry chocolate? (that?s what she said) whole hair dye.
Stas fixed me up! We decided to bring me back and go dark again. He added a modern touch by giving me a charcoal-blue peek-a-boo under color layer and finished it off with an amazing edgy cut. The cut is great. I don?t like doing a lot with my hair, so Stas gave me a cut the required little work to look bomb. It was defiantly worth every penny.
Goldwell products. 15% discount for you and a referred friend. Existing customers can accrue discounts for one appointment ? imagine a free cut from Stas! Full massage service provided. Highly knowledgeable and up to date staff ? Stas used a new technique he just learned ? And it turned out awesome! Hair plans available.
At the risk of making this place TOO well known, I present you METAMORPHOSIS! – For all it's hype and history, SF is still a bit provincial and can't be compared, let's say, to LA or NY. So it came as a surprise when I found this place. Last Friday, after rambunctious rendezvous late afternoon, I, in uplifted mood, was traveling down the market street when something caught my eye. A cursory glance had me convinced the name of the place was "Mephistopheles". "Hhhmm.."- I thought "How Faustian, and naughty, to name a place this way" So, against my habit and guided by curiosity, I brisked in. The interior was chic and somewhat decadent. I was promptly seated by a kind, curvaceous redhead who introduced herself as Alla. "Sound heavenly" I said, she smiled. Not to be self deprecatory, my hair, just like me, is a challenge to work with. So I was curious and skeptical whether someone so good looking can do the job. A wash was quite refreshing- the girl has magic hands. A cut was better than I expected and left me feel and look younger. and The blowdry was gentle and effortless. (I know few stylists who do exceptional work, but I never thought it all could be done without pain-I was wrong) voala! - a new me! Well, an old me and with a pretty darn good do. My mantra is "It's not the salon, it's the stylist" so I asked Alla for the card. Later that day, while sipping coffee at Peet's I pulled out the card redhead had given me. It stated- Alla agent of change @ Metamorphosis. "Metamorphosis? Hmm. That's not Faustian at all. Clever never less"
Editorial Review – Personalized cuts and color are the focus at this grand 2,500 square-foot Louis XIV-inspired salon.
