Steak house in Hilton, Short Pump – We made reservations for a family dinner for 18 people for 6:30 on a Thursday night. The restaurant was not busy, few people. Now we know why. The children were served first which was good, BUT when the adults' food came at 8:45 PM, it was cold...Most had ordered steaks, The meat was cold, the plates and extra vegetable dishes were cold. The wait staff seemed not to know how to serve a larger group and did not inform my mom who was hosting, that the gratuity would be automatically added (we understand that but it is important to mention it beforehand. Our bottle of pinot grigio (24.00 in a wine shop) was $52.00. The bill for all of us was nearly $1,000 ($998) for a very mediocre meal, We expected to pay a significant amount but not $1,000. Several of the adults did not eat their entree because it was served so cold. This is truly unacceptable for a restaurant that prides itself on steak and upscale dining. Very disappointing. We will never go there again and will be sure to warn our foodie friends. Bottom line: too expensive, food not served hot and in a timely manner, and wait staff very inexperienced. A bad experience, especially for the wallet.
Shula's winning tradition on the field continues at this classy steakhouse chain. – In Short
The chop house's elegance is indisputable, yet there is an oddly casual spirit to a place in which the menu is written on a football and set at your table on a kicking tee. Certified Angus Beef doesn't come cheap, and the sides are priced a la carte, but the nationally renowned steakhouse always finds a way to make the cut for those willing to pay for quality.
Overpriced – I went there and found the 16 oz. Ribeye has a bone in it. This makes the steak smaller by havng the bone in it and not worth the $28.00 price. The service was OK, but the staff was not that friendly and it was very cold in the restaurant. There are other place in Richmond that have a better atmosphere for a sports bar.
direst filet mignon ever – I've eaten out a lot in my 20 years traveling for business and I've eaten out quite a bit for pleasure in my personal life. I've admittedly lived in great food cities like San Francisco, NY and Phila. and can have a not-so-good meal in all those places. I have to say this was truly the worst filet mignon I have ever eaten and at $29 it made it even more of a disgrace. I asked for medium well and it came out so well done it almost disintegrated on my plate. I never send things back but I did this time and the manager and waiter apologized and then when the second filet came it was exactly the same way. I was so hungry by then I just ate it. I will say they bought me a glass of wine though...$9 for a glass when the whole bottle costs $18. The side of veggies were over oiled and over onion-ed......What a shame....DO NOT ever eat at this joint. I heard the guy at the next tell the waitress "it could've been a little more pink." I think he was also talking about his steak. hmmmmm
