Abrupt service and they rushed us out!!! – This is a cozy place with limited and cramped seating not allowing for much personal conversation. The pizza is good and the wine selection is ok but the customer service is sub-par. They asked for our dessert order before we finished our meal, when we opted not to do dessert the check arrived at our table before our plates had been removed. The service was very abrupt and we were "hawked" and rushed to leave the restaurant before we could finish our wine. They clearly wanted us out of there and did not care for our repeat busines.

Good Food, Dine out or don't dine at all. – Having dined at several pizza places in Dallas, I would probably not go back to Coal Vines unless my other choices were not available - for dine in.

The evening started off alright until when we were forced to valet when we parked on an adjacent street, which was clearly open and another business lot.

After prompt seating in what seemed like the aisle, we ordered and got our pizza fairly quickly. We were checked on once throughout the meal and seemed to be forgotten after that.

The white pizza was great and the place has a pretty cool ambiance. The lackluster service, rude and forced valet, and inattentive service won't have me rushing back to this place.

I would rather give my business to Fireside Pies or Campanas.

Overrated and Rushed Upscale Pizza Establishment – I am a foodie but my boyfriend has more selective taste buds (aka a picky eater) so when a new upscale pizza restaurant opens up its a win-win for both of us...until we tried Coal Vines on a double date with another couple.

We aren't chintzy when it comes to ordering food, so if you think the rude service was due to lack of $ amount on the meal you are mistaken.

All 4 had appetizers, salads, multiple drinks, entrees... courses were rushed together, the glasses of wine barely 1/4 of the glass size & the pizza came on a stand that was WAY too large for small tables. The crust was ehh but soggy. We began to eat our pizza & soon were watching our plates attempting to escape (via the service) & being offered to box up the remains when we were still clearly eating.

We finally gave in to boxing remaining slices & a check was already presented (normal for those who wish to dine & dash) but were checked on 4 times after we divvied up the bill. The FINAL, and very rude, straw came when the manager(?) approached our table and asked if we were planning on ordering dessert. When we replied that we were finishing up our drinks and enjoying the conversation between friends - we were then told that there were plenty of people waiting for a table. I assume this was his not so subtle attempt of hinting for us to vacate the table.

Yes it was obvious to us there was a wait, but if you are going to own a (small) popular restaurant you either need to A) accept reservations to figure out when you are booked to capacity for a night B) acquire more seating space C) deal with it. We paid over $60pp for a pizza dinner one should be allowed to enjoy the formalities of a upscale restaurant which include lingering after dinner for conversation and not being rudely rushed.

We will not be returning to coal vines and will instead when in need of upscale pizza joint go back to Fireside Pies instead. In fact I feel like poo for recommending the restaurant in the first place.

good pizza, long wait – we only ordered 1 pizza btw 2 of us, but it was very good. we got the marina pizza and it was better than i thought, considering it had no cheese. the sauce was excellent and the crust was right on, albeit a little burnt. overall, a very good pizza. i have to warn u that if u order this pizza, it comes with raosted whole cloves of garlic. it's great for someone who likes garlic, like me, but not so much for others.

the only gripe i have is that we had to wait a while to be seated. they have a patio area, but the place is pretty small.

Yo Adriene you gotta try Coal Vines – Coal Vines is truely authentic New York style pizza. The atmosphere is New York all the way. If you have ever been to a pizza joint in New York you would certainly understand the close proximatey of the tables. As for the wait I say this, "You know it must be over the top delicious if you have to wait that long to get in." I have been there once and would say it is by far and large the best pizza I have had since moving to Dallas 2 years ago. Outstanding food and the hospitality is grade A+++++++. Don't take my word for it, check it out yourself. I would recommend making a reservation to avoid some of the wait.

Great Restaurant – Anyone that doesn't think this place is anything but tops is probably working for the competition. My wife and I go here at least three times a month and can't say enough good things about it. Yes the wait can be a while you know that going in so I don't know how you hold that against the restaurant. Oh and while you wait you are able to have a glass of wine or beer right in front of the restaurant or sit at the bar. The owner, whose name escapes me, makes a point of saying hello to every patron, now that is class. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly people.

Great atmosphere, and good wine selection! – I LOVED this place. It's a bit of a mob scene right around 7ish, but if you don't mind waiting for a table then your fine. Because while you are waiting you can enjoy a glass of wine, either at the bar or outside. The service was great and so was the food. I would highly recommend Cole Vines for a first date or group outing. Very fun and friendly staff.

AVOID ALTOGETHER – Coal Vines has great pizza if it's done right, which is not often. The pizza is extremely inconsistent. Fifty percent of the time you may get what you ordered if your lucky. If you happen to order your pizza to go, be sure you check it before you leave. If it is not right be prepared to wait an additional 20-30 minutes. I'd rather order a mediocre pizza that has the toppings I ordered rather than wait. I don't know where the miscommunication is but it is definitely a problem. Don't expectt any sympathy from Coal Vines. The only thing consistent about Coal Vines is the inconsistency. I've had this happen too many times to return. I suggest NIzza Pizza if you are in the Arlington or Mansfield area.

Best pizza in Dallas – I love Coal Vines and think it's the best pizza in Dallas! It is a bit small so I usually do take-out. I order at the bar and try a different glass of wine each visit while I wait for my pizza. The pizzas are huge and the prices are right!

Pizza is okay, small place with a very 'blah' staff – I decided to have lunch there despite the reviews I had read. It is VERY small and tight, to the point that your server is standing thisclose to you when serving the table next to you. The staff seems very 'blah'... just not smiley or thrilled to be working. But hey, I guess thats better than rude. Pizza was okay. Nothing great by any means.
