I arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday night,
with a reservation for the large booth. Even though I had email proof and had visited the place personally to make my reservation, they didn't have me written down anywhere. But it didn't matter, anyway. Even though it's happy hour from 5-7, there wasn't a soul there! Just me and the bartender until my friends arrived. We found out that they don't have food (a drinking place with nothing to eat??), but at least the bartender got us a pizza from Via Tribunali.
After 11 pm the place got crowded. No room to stand anywhere. Horrible ventilation. Our feet hurt and we went to sit at a booth (that seats about 20) that had been vacant for 2 hours. We knew other people had it reserved, but they were all dancing, so 5 of us sat down to take a load off. The skanky waitress came over and BULLISHLY told us we had to move because it was reserved. Even though the table-holders said we could sit there until they wanted to sit (we said we'd happily vacate when they wanted their table), the bitchy waitress then called a bouncer over! I'm in my 40s, was sober, was polite (as were all of my stunned friends), and couldn't believe that's how she handled it. But, it gets worse! Over comes the manager, spitting venom at us! Not an, "I'm sorry, ladies, but it's our policy and we regret that you'll have to move," but "YOU DO NOT HAVE A RESERVATION AND I'M GOING TO CALL THE COPS [insert Linda Blair Exorcist imitation here]!!" Truly unbelievable and despicable behavior, coming from the MANAGER! Can you believe it? He was obviously on drugs because his behavior was astonishingly disproportionate to the situation. I again reiterate that we were peaceful and sober! We left; we were so disgusted. I will never, ever set foot in that Coke-head's establishment again.
BTW, cops were in and out of the place all night. I found that strange, and it gave us the impression that bad things must happen there regularly enough to warrant cops hanging around inside and out. We should have gone to Neighbors. I know that I can have a good time there and feel relatively safe!

Don't go there!.
I would give -5 if there was an option.
We (several international people) were invited by the University of Washington course organizers to hang out in a informal atmosphere and they gave us an address of this club.
When we arrived, a fat guy sitting and checking the IDs (who claimed himself as a night manager) didn't allow us to enter. We showed him our IDs (IDs of the countries we were from, driving licenses). I personally showed him my Swiss ID and Swiss driving license. We were polite with him. But he told, that according to Washington State law, only 5 types of documents give access to this club: 1) passport (who carry a passport abroad now?); 2) US ID; 3) US driving license; 4) Marine ID; 5) something else.
End of the story is that I am and my colleagues (who were above 35, including me) were VERY VERY disappointed with such attitude and ended up sitting in a nice and cozy bar, next to yours. I promised to that fat guy that I will be writing a negative reference for Havana Club in Seattle everywhere where it is possible and I will do so.
Hope that a staff of this club will learn how to treat clients, particularly, guests from other countries.

Havana.
Decent place, good music they bring in local DJs who know what they're doing. They have or used to have a night that was all old school hip hop, they do funk and soul, electro. The only downside is that the sound system isn't great, either that or it's the acoustics in the place I don't know

Best place in Seattle for cocktails.
Havana is special, a great spot for drinking with friends or for dancing. The cocktails are great; the service is superb.
Try it--you'll leave happy.

Too Busy.
I have been here a couple times and I have always had a fun time, and in fact I did meet my last boyfriend here, but I think that was mainly a coincidence because there were simply soooooooo many people in the freaking place. You are definately bound to find someone you find attractive, no matter who you are.

sick spot.
I rolled in with a small group at around 11pm on a friday night, and was shocked to see no line! Cover wasn't bad, $7/e (guys and girls). The DJ was playing some great cuts, modern hip-hop with a few classic rap hits in between, and created a great atmosphere for dancing. Dance floor was fairly packed but there was definitely space to do your thing without accidentally grinding on a stranger. Oddly, dance floor seemed to have a PDA theme, as couples were making out all over the place. The bar was slick and clean, nothing over the top, and was well-staffed. We got our drinks (nobody ordered special cocktails, just standard rum/cokes, long-islands) fast and for fairly cheap, although I can't attest to the "strength" of the cocktails because I was drinking beer all night. Interesting mix of people here, more diversity than I've seen at other spots. Clean, good-looking diversity. Overall, I found Havana to be an awesome place for drinks and dancing - Unpretentious, clean, urban/modern vibe with a classy old-time Havana interior. Will definitely be returning soon.

Rude staff, long lines.
I've heard good things about this club, and wanted to check it out. The night started off alright, but when taking a quick break from dancing I was approached by a security guard. Apparently, despite the long drink lines and weak drinks, I was too drunk and had to leave. It was nice of him to inform me because I had no idea. After rehashing the evening over and over, I still have no idea what set him off. Based on the remainder of my evening, and my cheery disposition the following morning I can confirm that I was okay.
It seemed like they wanted to get in new folks to pay new cover, and new folks that were planning to spend money on drinks. Perhaps I was really dancing too much and not drinking enough.
I left the club feeling insulted and powerless. I will not go back.

Too much hassle.
This is a place that is trying to replicate the feel of a snazzy, South Beach hotspot. Well, it was definitely hot.
There were far too many people packed into the bar and I began sweating almost immediately after entering. This of course, would have been fine if I could get a refreshing cocktail to cool me off.
There was no rhyme or reason to the order of service at the bar. I waited for over 25 minutes while people behind me and to the side of me got served their drinks. When I asked for a drink that was advertised on their website as being one their recommended cocktails, I was told that they don't serve those when it's busy.
After waiting half an hour to get in and then another half an hour to get drinks, I was in no mood to try to dance. Of course it would not have really been dancing anyway. Due the crowd size, it would have been more like bouncing against people. I left Havana very sober and very annoyed. I will not be back again.

Shady Bartenders!.
I went to Havanna last night and when I order two mojitos the bartender (has a tattoo that says Yee Haw on his arm) said that will be $17, then when I told him I was paying with a credit card, he rung me up and all the sudden it was $15. Later on with the same bartender I order two Peligrinos and I mojito, when I asked how much he said $16, then when he rang it up, it was $11. Shaaaaaaaaaaaaady, I think someone was trying to get themselves a big tip but when he had to ring it up, had to come clean. What a loser! I will not be going back to this place.

Great music, dancing, decor, cocktails.
I've been to Havana several times and I've never been disappointed. As far as decor and ambiance go--it's one of my favorite places in Seattle. Tucked in from the street, bold colors, tall windows, big plants, it all makes for a cozy tropical feeling. It's different from other bars/clubs in the area, and whether I show up for a mojito on a week night or go out with a group of friends on the weekend, I always have a good time.
