Went there to listen to the Mitch Jacob's Band. The waitress set us at a large table up front. As the night progressed we were asked by the OWNER to move seats twice to make room for her "Rehab friends". I thought that was very RUDE. I was a paying customer and there way before them. I felt very uncomfortable and out of place. I will NEVER go back!!

Great spot for date night. Bartender was very helpful & enjoyed talking wine with him. The place was dead but who cares. Will return soon.

Great Date Night – I took my boyfriend here on our date night, and we had a great time. The tunes that they played accompanied with the wine selection made for a great night out on the town. We are looking forward to going back on the weekend to listen to the live music.

Go for the tunes.. – Hey, I'll give them this at least: the music they had playing was pretty sweet. Little bit of Tom Waits, peppered with some Patsy Kline, some Chicago-style blues and Eric Clapton. The ambiance and decor weren't bad either; kind of an eclectic, post-modernist vibe.

Great place to chillax – Awesome place to kick back and enjoy some wine. They had an extensive wine list, but prices were a little high. The Rose' sangria was awesome--very refreshing with a hint of basil, but was a bit steep at $8 a glass considering the wine was pretty diluted. Wine by the glass averaged bout $10/glass. Panini Caprese was ok--nothing spectacular and a bit greasy. I like this place because it's more of a dive where you can kick back and catch up with friends rather than an uppity stuffy bar with wine coinneuseurs. Plus, it's in the Heights--a great part of town and a Houston treasure.

A Hidden Treat – We visited here this past weekend for the first time, and after reading the variety of reviews posted on this site we were skeptical but optimistic. We arrived around 10:30pm and the place was fairly packed; nearly all the tables were taken. From reading about other people's experiences, we headed to the bar to order our wine instead of waiting at a table for a waiter. On the way to the bar, however, we were intercepted by a server (The owner perhaps? It was her birthday.), who offered to help us. We had to wait a bit before our order was taken, but it was nothing exorbitant. The lady who waited on us was extremely helpful in helping us pick a bottle of wine and it was delivered promptly. The music was fantastic and there was such a good vibe. It was a slightly older crowd (30's +) and by the time we left after midnight, the place had mostly cleared out. I'm almost tempted not to post this good review - we've decided this is "our" place and want to keep the secret to ourselves - but good experiences need to be mentioned. There were two things I would have liked to be different, though. The first is some space to dance - the music was perfect for swing, but the space just isn't there. Also, (and more importantly) I would have liked to have seen descriptions of the tastes of the wine (ex: "a floral wine with undertones of pear...") in addition to the names. I'm not enough of a wine expert to know a lot of different wine brands by name and a description would have helped us to make a decision on our own instead of waiting for help. As it was, we were forced to ask the server (who was very knowledgeable about what she served), and got a bottle we liked a lot. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, devoid of the usual pretentious glitterazi. We will be back soon.

Casual wine bar in the North Heights area offers a casual atmosphere and tasty paninis. – In Short
During the day, expect a mix of coffee shop loungers and neighborhood locals enjoying this charming Heights spot. Menu offerings include a selection of playfully named panini sandwiches, salads, desserts and assorted healthful bar bites. In the evening, couples scatter about candlelit tables for conversation and live music. Cozy couches and stools at the long bar provide for additional seating. The wine list is varied and champagne is also served by the glass or bottle.

Cozy and Welcoming – Wow - what a fantastic place to unwind, relax and sip on a wonderful selection of wine. The cozy atmosphere no matter if crowded or not, the exceptional service, the pages of selections of wines to choose from .... and there is beer to choose from for you beer lovers. There is a good neighborhood vibe, friendly customers, friendly service - there is simply nothing to not like about this place. So quaint, so relaxing, drop in there for a few minutes and I bet you stay a lot longer!

Terrible place – I had been meaning to try this place for a long time.

The service here was horrible. The waiter didn't care if we were there or not. The waiter also didn't communicate very well when asked questions about the wine.

Also, the music was loud for a wine bar. Hard to have a discussion. I was totally disappointed.

Awesome wine bar! – This place rocks! I went there with some of my friends the other night and we had a great time. The wine selection was good, and the bartender knew his stuff! Once we told him what we liked, he made some wonderful wine suggestions. We drank a few bottles of his choices, and a few 'by the glass' choices as well.

The also serve tasty champange cocktails. I drank a Kir Royale, and my friend tried the Lemon Basil. Both drinks were sparkly and yummy.

The place had a mellow vibe that we enjoyed. We could actually hold a conversation without screaming.

And it's a non-smoking bar. Always a plus for our group.

I'm looking forward to many more visits to this lovely place in the Heights.
