A revamped location where the classic deep-dish you either love or loathe is the draw. This is the very Gold Coast location where the local mini-chain launched in the '60s. You'll be stuffed silly from the 'za, but don't let that stop you from ordering the warm chocolate chip cookie!

WORST DECISION EVER!!! – traveled to Chicago during a business trip in September. We decided to eat at Ginos to experience Chicago pizza. WORST DECISION EVER!! 2 of my colleagues and I split the deep dish meat lovers pizza & antipasto salad and we all got food poisoning. I was the worst out of the 3 of us. I was so sick I missed my last day of training and had to change my flight to the following day; spending the last day of my trip deathly ill in a hotel room. It was horrible! DO NOT go to this restaurant!!!

Not that great – My husband and I ate there recently because many people told my husband that we needed to try their fabulous pizza when we went to Chicago. The whole experience was a disappointment! People were made to stand in a line outside in the 96 degree heat when there was plenty of room in the lobby where there was air conditioning. Many, many tables were open, but there was quite a wait. The pizza Nazis-hostesses and hosts-finally allowed us to wait inside, but we were ordered to "Slide all the way to the left on the seat (in the lobby)" to wait our turn for a table. The whole process was weird and disrespectful. We were finally seated and we waited an hour for our $25 (4 slice) pizza that was not really that good. It was mushy. The sauce did have good flavor, however. To top off our experience, our waiter did not give us proper change. He kep the coin change before we even took out the tip. Apparently, the rule at this establishment is to round up and keep the difference-probably because the staff doesn't expect much of a tip because they know this restaurant sucks! This place is way over-rated.

Overated – I know that Gino's East is supposed to be a great spot for deep dish pizza, but I did not care for it. We waited 45 minutes for our deep dish pizza, and what we ate was a very unflavorful mush. The cheese just sat in a sticky clump, and the entire pizza was very bland. After speaking to other people who have had similar experiences, we learned that the best place to go for deep dish in Chicago is Luminati's.

Unbelievable – As a doctor, I can only recommend this treat once a month. It is one of Chicago's Best Pizza's.

wouldn't feed this to animals – crust tastes like plain flour and cornmeal. cheap cheese just turns into oil when hot. store bought sauce. Overpriced!!! These people are insane! Just a tourist trap-Nothing else

"You can't go home again"- Thomas Wolfe – Hello?!?! The "original" Gino's East and all its ambience are gone, baby gone. Unfortunately, the one time winner has fallen under the same corporate rule that runs Eduardo's and Ed Debevics. The quality no loner goes in, but the name still goes on.

The long-time staff and owners were awesome. So here's to Sam, George, Fred, Fred Randazzo, Margie, Pete, Victor, Franca, Dottie, Carla, Irene, Patty, Charlie and all the wonderful kitchen staff that made the name what it is today.

Deep dish pizza from Gino's and Unos is fantastic market scheme – Gino's and Uno's, between the the two of them, have managed to convince the rest of the world that deep dish pizza is actually "Chicago Style pizza. It is one of the greatest marketing schemes I have ever seen. People will say they went to Chicago over the weekend and while there, they had a real "Chicago Style" pizza, and then proceed to tell me how thick it was. I tell them "I hate to tell you this but what you had was not really "Chicag Style" pizza at all. I explain to them that there are basically 3 types of pizza in Chicago. 1). The usual chain store variety, i.e., Pizza Hut, Domino's and Pappa John's; 2). The kind of pizza that they serve to tourists and the Yuppie crowd, i.e., deep dish pizza served at Ginos and Unos; and, 3). The kind of pizza that those who actually live in Chicago really eat. People who have lived in Chicago for generations laugh at anyone who refer to deep dish pizza as "Chicago Style" pizza. Somehow, Ginos and Unos have convininced the world that the stuff they serve up to the tourists is the real thing.

GREAT FOOD! In Chicago you should at least give it a whirl!!! – We arrived pretty late as far as dinner hour is concerned but the wait was only 15 outside, 10 in the waitng room but then unfortuantely another 15 before anyone took a drink order & that was after we flagged down a manager to KINDLY mention that we hadn't been taken care of. After that it was smooth sailing with no attitude but NOTE please that if you KINDLY tell people your having bad service they will always make it up to you. WAITERS AND WAITRESSES are people no matter if your paying them to serve you so give people the benefit and they'll usually make it up to you!

So after our pitcher of 312 Beer (yum, like Blue Moon w/out having to put the orange in), our combo appetizer which has great Spinach/Cheese sticks....we then were put to the task of trying to put down a Medium Supreme Patty Sausage pizza. OMG! IT WAS FANTASTIC and so much food we had to give up with a slice and 1/2 left.

GREAT PART OF CHICAGO HISTORY AND WORTH ANY KIND OF WAIT!

No service, cold room and the food never arrived. – My daughter has taken her friends to this resturant for years and wanted to treat me as she thought the deep dish pizza was excellent. We arrived after the noon crowd had left and there were only a few tables that did not have food or were empty. The area by the bar on the second floor was empty. I ordered coffee and my daughter asked for water and they were delivered right away. The next time we saw our waiter was 50 minutes later and he was surprised that I wanted more coffee and my daugther needed water. The area on the second floor above the entry was cold, the service was not existant and after 1 hours and 45 minutes and no food we left. Since the pizza never arrived, I can't comment on the quality of the food. If you like to go to place with graffit on the walls, a cold room, and no service this is the place to go. I did notify the corporate office but got no response other that the issue would be passed to the resturant.

Childhood memory – WOW. Didn't know that Gino's opened back up on Superior. Great location awesome food. I love the long bar. Joe was our bartender and server and was really friendly! We were able to sit at the bar, watch the game and even eat the best deep dish pizza in the world. The food was as I remembered it as a kid. The homemade cheese and spinach sticks were to die for. And the drinks were great too!! A table near us was drinking the largest margarita we ever saw. Next time we will order that too. It's a be back.
