In Short – The crown jewel of this large aquarium is the outdoor exhibition tanks and underwater viewing areas, which showcase dolphins, otters, sea lions and a beluga whale. Other key exhibits include the locally oriented Treasures of the B.C. Coast, featuring sea stars, wolf eels and a giant Pacific octopus, along with a tropical display with sharks, crocodiles and human-sized freshwater fish. An interactive area allows kids and their parents to touch select animals in tanks.
Editor's Tips
- Save Money:
- For large families, it might make more financial sense to buy a membership than to pay individual admission.
- When to Go:
- Avoid the crowds--the quietest times to visit are before 11am or after 2:30pm.
- Know Before You Go:
- Kids 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- The Extras:
- Explore the rest of Stanley Park.
- Look Good:
- Get up close and personal with Animal Tours, where patrons can train and feed otters, sea lions or belugas for an additional fee. Call for details and reservations.
