Soooo good...and so cheap! – Lan Cafe is by far the best vegetarian value in NYC. The seitan sandwich is SO yummy--the bread is so super perfect cruchy! Nothing there has ever disappointed and ALWAYS fills the tummy--and the service is great. HIGHLY recommended.
DELICIOUS!!!!! – Lan Cafe is fantastic. One of the better vegetarian places in Manhattan. The produce is always fresh, the soy/seitan is grilled and sauteed to be desired by vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. The vietnamese flavors and spice are on par with any other eatery; not to mention the sanwiches are far better than most banh mi in Chinatown.
My favorite dishes:
Shredded green papaya Salad
Baguette sandwich with seitan
Grilled Lemongrass Seitan over Steamed Angel Hair
UNBELIEVABLE food, dirt-cheap – How this place has managed to stay so under-the-radar is a total mystery. The food is simply PHENOMENAL, vegetarians and non-vegetarians will love it. It's truly authentic, healthy, fresh-tasting Vietnamese cuisine, with prices straight out of 1975. Easily one of the best restaurants in the East Village.
ExCellent fooD I've ever taste – these new vietnamese vegan cafe has the best food i've ever taste in my whole life. every food in the menu was very special , i've eat their for almost two mnths. and still the same excellent. IT was a family business that's why its very cute,. if we want good food to be serve we should wait because their is only one person who's cooking for 20 or 30 people. i've been their friend and i have known them.
Vietnames Vegetarian Voluptuousness – Who knew vegetarian food could be so good. I don't think anyone (even you hard core vegetarians) did. But the Vietnamese flavors of this small east village eatery is remarkably fresh and tasty. The food is flavorful and suprisingly comforting and the fruit shakes are yummy (and natural tasting). Try the sandwiches (vegetarian meatballs!) and the vegetarian pho. The place is cute and the food is great.
