Detailed nail tech and relaxing massage! – I have gone to a number of nail/massage salons but when I return to Kayi, I wonder why I ever decided to go anywhere else.
My search is finally over! My new go-to nail salon is Kayi. I am a California transplant and have now lived in New York for a little over a year. My nails are very thin and brittle so I have gel nails. I am VERY picky about how my gels are done. No "chop-shops" for me! I want the salon clean with good quality products and an experienced technician that will NOT make my gel nails huge, thick and fake looking.
The nail technician looked at the condition of my nails, asked me a lot of questions about products I have used in the past, and we agreed upon a powder gel formulation for my nails. She soaked and gently hand filed off my old brisa gel nails taking special care not to damage my thin nails underneath and expertly applied my new set of gels. The are BEAUTIFUL! Completely natural looking, shaped perfectly and for a final touch, applied a beautiful shade of OPI pink.
And if you weren't feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after all of that pampering, you are treated to a neck and shoulder massage as your gorgeous nails dry.
Check-out Kayi...you won't be disappointed!!
Very disappointed – I went to Kayi several times because the location is very convenient to my job. This time I went and was very disappointed and will never go there again!! I had gotten a pedicure on Thursday to go to a wedding on Saturday. I noticed that the nail tech was rinsing the tools she was using in my foot bath. Also, when she was pushing my cuticles back, she slipped and made me bleed. She assured me it would be okay. I went to work the next day and when I came home, I noticed a huge big white blister on the toe that she had cut open. It became very painful and I also got a red line going up my foot, I had to goto urgent visit (since it was Saturday) Turns out I had a staph infection, which the doctor told me was caused by using dirty tools!!! I had to get IV meds because the infection had already entered my lymphatic system!!!! Well I went there Monday, when I went back into the city to goto work and tried to explain what happened. First off, they told me no manager was there to speak to. Second, the woman I spoke to, which was a nail tech, didn't seem to completely understand due to a language barrier. Thirdly, she only offered me a gift certificate to come back for $ 35.00!!!!! I spent over $200 for the doctor visit and antibiotics and she wouldn't even give me a refund!!!! I will never go there again, and I cannot believe they didn't take my incident more seriously. I highly recommend being cautious when going to Kayi for pedicures and paying attention if they are using sanitized tools. That ruined my whole weekend and cost me big bucks for a $30 pedicure!!!! If there is any manager I can speak to, please contact me!!
Best Place for Making a Woman Feel Beautiful! – This is the best place for permanent eye makeup, waxing, and mani/pedi! I first came to this spa two years ago when I lived in Manhattan to get my eyebrows permanently done. I was extremely weary about getting permanent makeup because I had seen such horrendous eyebrows that looked unnatural. When I arrived to Kayi Day Spa, I was put at ease by Kayi herself after she showed me her portfolio of work. The before and after photos were astoundingly natural and beautiful! I decided to get the permanent eyebrow service. They turned out to look amazing! It truly framed my face instantly and I received many compliments from my friends.
I moved back home to San Francisco shortly after so when I recently came back to New York to visit some friends I had to go back to Kayi Day Spa to get a touch-up on my eyebrows. Once again Kayi did an amazing job! Kayi is extremely meticulous about her work. She understands how to apply permanent makeup to appear natural. I also got the bikini wax plus a manicure/pedicure while I was there and was very impressed by the level of skill and service I received. There are many things I miss about New York and Kayi Day Spa is definitely one of them. Kayi is the only person I trust to do my permanent makeup. I highly recommend you try her services. Her prices are also quite reasonable, especially for NYC, and it's definitely worth the value since I don't have to draw in my eyebrows anymore. It saves time and effort. Please make your appointment with Kayi. You won't be disappointed
Microdermabrasion – I had no service like kayi day spa microdermabrasion. Good machine and good care with special mask used. The exclusively used and their own name on the prodcuts. The gypsum pearl mask which was using post care on microdermabrasion. Kayi did good job.
The spa treatments may be ok, but the hair cutting's not. – I went into Kayi with a photo of the haircut I wanted. (The place was empty.) They were very friendly, but I soon realized they spoke mostly Korean and couldn't really understand what I was telling them.
So, I showed the girl the photo of the haircut I wanted and, after washing my hair, she began to comb it. She got the comb stuck on my eyebrow ring, which is very small and not a loop or anything. she apologized but kept combing roughly and got it stuck again so I took it out.
To make a long story short, I had to show her the picture of the haircut three times for her to understand what length I wanted and it's still not correct. I also have had to fix the bangs several times since then and one side of my hair is longer than the other.
I'm making due until I can get another haircut. But for now it looks okay. I would not recommend this place to anyone for a haircut. I hope their spa treatments are better!
I finally got Brazillian done – I got to know this place through Metro paper.
My hair is pretty much damaged thanx to Strait Perm, colors, etc. So I have been looking for a place where I can get BKT at reasonable price.
The stylists Vivian and Kim did what BKT supposed be.
My hair is silky smooth and almost straight with some volume and I'm happy.
I'm thinking of getting color from them as well.
