Very disappointed in my meal! – I went to Randol's to enjoy a good Louisiana meal.
I tried a lot of the local restaurants Again, I was disappointed. Don't the owners understand that people come wanting to eat what they want. I wanted a seafood platter with shrimp, oysters and catfish.
They had one with french fries and jambalaya. I wanted a small caesar salad and baked potato. I was in a Louisana restaurant and wanted french bread or hush puppies. The only way I could get a small salad and baked potato was to pay $10.00 more. They don't serve
"hushpuppies" and the only way I could get a slice of french bread was to pay extra for a whole loaf. The $6.00 cup of gumbo wasn't special. I paid $30.00 for my single meal not including the tip for the uncaring
waitress who told me she did't make the menu's rules. I didn't enjoy my meal. . The catfish didn't taste like catfish. i know catfish. The oysters so small I couldn't taste them under the batter. There was
no management around to question if I enjoyed my meal. No forms to fill out upon my leaving. I guess they don't care. But today we have the internet. I am going home now There are places all over the rest of the
country that I can get exactly what I wanted with hush puppies and french bread for less money. Even the old Louisiana atmosphere. The quality and quantity of the food, even the gumbo, is just as good or better.
I really hate to see this happening in Louisiana. All the small businesses worry about the big guys coming in and running them out of business. Now I see what the problem is. The owners really don't care about their
customers anymore. While the rest of the country has been working to make their restaurants more enjoyable for their customers that want the old Louisiana
food and atmosphere the local seafood restaurants have lost their touch. I found this common in a lot of seafood restaurants in Lafayette. I'll go back letting my family and friends know that while things have changed in the rest of the country for the better so has Louisiana changed. We really haven't been missing any good Louisiana seafood restaurants. I paid for my meals with the knowledge that they're not in Lafayette anymore.
