I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE. I am upset that we spend a dime at this place. First we went for my mils bday on a week night the place was not that packed there were 2 parties there and that was it. We didn't get any acknowledgement for at least 10 mins. Then when she did come to grab something from the hostess desk she Asked how many and said one sec literally and walked away. She never came back wtf. Then as people began to come in after us still no recognition one couple just walked in asked a waitress where could they sit and she seating them. It wasnt until the waitress was reminded that we've been standing there waiting that she asked the couple to get up and sat us at the booth. Then another 10 mins after being seated no server/waitress to even take drink orders had to flag down a server to have some one come and wait on us. After all that the crawfish was NOT good and the crabs were dry. I will never ever return to this place. Prices too high, food not good , and service was HORRIBLE. Seems like the staff was wonder around with no idea.
Great Crawfish... – I've eaten crawfish many many places and I have to say this is the best crawfish I've ever eaten. The service is okay there, there is work for improvement. However the reason I gave it three stars was because we went Saturday 02/18 and the waitress told us they had ran out of crawfish (BBBBBOOOOOO) so I decided to order the gumbo and it was the worse gumbo I've ever tasted. My niece ordred the seafood platter and the fish was not cooked well but the shrimp was GREAT... But I've had the blackend tilapia with ponchatrain sauce and it was outstanding... We go there quite often, but mainly for the crawfish!
BEST CRAWFISH IN HOUSTON – The original flavor boiled crawfish is the best seasoned crawfish in houston hands down!!!
Horrible Food / Horrible Service / Horrible Management – My buddy and I went there to watch the game and have some seafood. The server didn't know the menu. The manager was brought in to process our order. We ordered from the expensive side of the menu: fish from the sea with citrus grilled tilapia with pontchartrain sauce and the blackened salmon with creamy citrus sauce. The tilapia came out great with mixed veggies and smothered in pontchartrain sauce as you'd expect from a cajun restaurant. The salmon, from the same section where you had your choice of 4 fish (tilapia, salmon, catfish and mahi mahi), seasoning (blackened, cajun, other), and sauce (cajun, pontchartrain and creamy citrus), had no sauce on it. It came with tartar sauce on the side and no vegetables. Regardless of the vegetables, which the menu didn't say the pontchartrain sauce included, the discrepancy between the two dishes was so stark it was disgusting. Tartar sauce is not a sauce - like soy milk is not a milk - it's a condiment. The salmon was a dried out, sauceless piece of crap. The manager said "that's what you ordered" and "you have to pay for it". He would not take it back, but insisted on replacing it with pontchartrain sauce. What, they advertise a creamy citrus sauce that's just tartar sauce!? The menu is not to be trusted. Who knows what you will get.
GOOD PLACE TO CHILL – I REALLY LUV THIS PLACE ITS A NICE PLACE TO RELAX AFTER A HARD DAY OF WORK. THE FOOD IS GREAT, I REALLY LUV IT ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY HALF OFF ON LONG ISLAND, RITAS. MY GIRLFRIEND LUVS THIS PLACE TO CAUSE SHE LOVES SHRIMP. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THAT THEY HAVE MORE BEER SPECIAL THAN WELLS DRINKS, AND WHEN ITS PACK THE SERVICE IS A BIT SLOW
i love this place – I have tried crawfish all over New Orleans and now Houston and I have to give props to this place. Its the best crawfish i've ever had. I tried both the original and its 'sensation' flavors and love them both (although i prefer the orignial just a tad more, the sensation comes a close second). My girlfriend had the blackend tilapia with ponchatrain sauce and she was utterly impressed. My friends also shared a fried seafood platter and the consensus was that the food there is very good. A jewel of a find. The only complaint I have is that the service was a bit slow...I thnk our server was new on the job and that's ok because she appeared to be trying hard. Overall, I was very happy and definitely will be back!
Looks nice, thats about it – As others have said it does look really nice inside but thats about the only thing I could say. First time ever there on 12/31/2009 and 12:36PM for lunch with 3 other gentlemen. The waitress was asked to return after taking drink orders, we had to wave her down about 10 minutes later while she sat with another employee on the other side of the restaurant. Food gets there and its hot(temp) but in no way, form, or fashion was it CAJUN. The Pepsi did not disappoint. There were not many people in on this day. The waitress was not tending to others, maybe one other table. The 4 patrons at the bar had the other waitress who constantly checked on them. Ran outta catchup and had to wave down the resting waitress again. My receipt says her name is Jenny. I was having lunch with "foodlover85" and he's not lying. He first sent the 'gunkbo' back because it was cold. They heated it up. He tried adding hot sauce but was still dissatisfied. HE DID NOT EAT THE GUNKBO. He didn't like it and when we finally saw the waitress again which was at the end of our meals, he asked that she remove it from his receipt. She clears the table and discards of the food, sends the "owner" out and he says 'my waitress said you ate it', like she's incapable of a lie. He never saw for himself. He says he can't do anything about it. He'd rather us leave and warn others than take a $5 dollar item off the receipt. "THE OWNER" will learn.
FYI Crazy Cajun - You can't sprinkle Tony Chachere's on some french fries and call your food CAJUN...Unless of course your service is really good and you don't argue with a customer over 5 bucks about something you didn't see for yourself.
Great Plase for Bad Food and Worse Service – Atmosphere is ok. A few TVs with different sporting events. The crawfish po boy was ok. The chicken, sausage, shrimp gumbo was HORRIBLE! The chicken was dry and the stock was terrible. I had a bite, tried to doctor it up with some hot sauce...that did not help. I told the waitress I did not like it. When it showed up on my bill, I ask her to take it off. She said she would ask the manager. A man came out with my card and bill, asked me what was wrong with the food, and accused me of eating all of the gumbo. I told him I did not eat it all and that the gumbo did not taste good. (Another gentleman at my table ordered gumbo and did not like his either, but at it anyway). He argued with me and determined there was nothing he could do. I said "That's fine, I won't be back", to which he replied, "good". I asked if he owned the restaurant and he said, "yes". If you want ok food, yucky gumbo, slow service and management who doesn't care about serving their customer, and is not smart enough to realize he stands to make him more money by taking $5 off a dissatisfied customer's bill than insulting him...Crazy Cajun is the place for you.
Won't come back unless things change. – My fiance and I come to here together 4 times in the last 3 months and I've been a customer for awhile until now.
The crawfishes are undercook most of the time. My fiance and I got sicked after eating the crawfishes here the last two time. I told the server that it was under cook. She brought it back to "recook" it, but they forgot to reseason them. Taste like $h1t. Many of the crawfishes are not fresh and it taste so gross.
This used to be my favorite place to eat crawfish two years ago when it was one of the best places ever. I would tell all my buddies and family members to come. now i tell them to not go there.
services is a joke here. All the waitress does is bring you the drink and the food and won't come back for refills or other needs. They'll come back when it's time for you to go. I still tips great regardless.
The place smell weird now too. It has a foul odor right when you enter the door. I might come back here in a year or so to see if it has change. my fiance on the other hand will never come back here after being sick the last two time after eating it. she even threw up right when we walked out the door. Boiling crab or home cook is the way to go.
i love this place – The crawfish is the BEST! full of flavor and they have choice of mild, spicy, and extra spicy!! sometimes kind of fishy but i mean it is a seafood what do you expect!! i am addicted i drive 45 minutes twice a week to eat it.. My boyfriend likes the fried oyster po boy and the shrimp is good too. Over all i like this place. If you havent had the crawfish here your missing ouT
