Food Poisoned Crab Cake and/or Lobster Bisque – Celebrating mom's birthday at Crab Catcher and view. My mom got food poisoned by Crab Cake or the horrible Lobster Bisque. If you like your bisque with mostly cream then you will like this dish. No lobster flavor, just cream. My elderly mom was up all night up in the bathroom! My fish was over cooked and dry and they tried to cover it up with mounds of oozing mayonaise. My dad's omelet, was dry and overcooked! How does a restaurant screw up every dish!

Don't bother making special request for reservations, THEY DON'T DO it! They are WAY too overpriced for poorly cooked food. You're better served sitting at the bar and enjoying the view. I sincerely don't recommend eating here. The service unprofessional, slow but nice. I can't believe this restaurant is still in business. It must be the tourist or the bar that keeps this business running. The decor is out dated.

One last fries tasted as though it was cooked in the same fryer they cooked their fish. My fries smelled/tasted fishy!

Great views, but overcooked (!?) Halibut and Sea Bass! – Before dinner, my parents and I decided to have some cocktails in the bar. This may not have been such a great idea as service was slow and my martini, which was advertised as coming with "blue cheese olives" only came with a singular olive. Not a big deal, but when I pointed this out to the waitress she seemed very disinterested and said she didn't know what to tell me but that I could buy two more for a dollar. Had she seemed just a bit more concerned that might not have come out of her tip. However, the service in the restaurant was exceptional. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. However, both my halibut and my mother's sea bass were dry. This was really disappointing as I had really been looking forward to enjoying my locally caught fish. The sauces and sides made up somewhat as both dishes were very flavorful. Were I to choose again, I would go with the cioppino. Fresh seafood with just the right amount of spice. Very tasty. Overall, I was expecting much more. The Crab Catcher has a reputation for exceptional seafood, so when it is overcooked it is really disappointing.

Great fish taco's. Great views and Great prices Time to go! Happy Hour. – My mother is over 90 years young, an getting her to go out is difficult to say the least, but when I mention the Crab Catcher and those crab cakes, she hits the door leaving her walker behind. My wife and I always visits the Crab Catcher when were in La Jolla. I grew up in San Diego and now live in the San Francisco Bay Area namely Walnut Creek, CA We make one to two trips a year to San Diego and enjoy the Del Coranado and La Jolla.

Thanks for keeping my childhood alive.

Fresh seafood, an extensive wine list and panoramic views draw patrons to this La Jolla waterfront favorite – In Short
Perched on a cliff alongside La Jolla Cove, the restaurant and its sidekick oyster bar achieve elegance with simple furnishings and a killer view. The breezy outdoor patio and airy dining room are popular among families, business executives and, during tournament time, professional golfers. Starters include crab stuffed mushrooms and seared ahi napoleon. Fresh shellfish and seafood entrees incorporate Hawaii-inspired additions like coconut sticky rice and foccacia crusted Ono.
