Very Rude Managers (or owner?) at Shilla. – I give "- star," if there is one.

Their Korean BBQ is great. I can say that for sure for as a royal customer to Shilla for over 5 years. I used to take out almost every once a week from there. However, today, it changed everything. I am not going there ever and I am telling everyone else not to! Especially, when you are going there with a party of 7 or more, please go some places else.

My friend was visiting in town and he made a reservation for 10 to invite all his close NY bound friends for a night of reunion. We made a reservation at 7. However, some of us were running late and we couldn't start ordering until 7:40pm. However, we knew we had the table for 2 hours when we reserved the table. Suddenly, 3 different managers came to our table and starting to almost "yelling" at us.

This one lady with short hair (I am assuming she is the owner? since I saw her photos taken with some Korean celebrities up front. She yelled at my friend that "I told you on the phone call that if we don't have at least 8 people out of 10, we are going to charge the empty seats) -Really??? A K-restaurant would do this?? Then she goes, it's already 7:50, are you sure you can get out by 9??? "Can you? Can you? Really? Can you?" If we said we can't get out by 9, they were ready to kick us out that moment. Literally. "I mean, we don't even have any other tables...we gotta bring other customers too, you know?!!" With a very high tone + nasty voice.

Then another manager came in and start taking the order and we ordered 4 Galbi, Pajun, and few drinks first since we were all puzzled by the whole dispute with the manager. Then this lady gave us another nasty look. She probably was thinking "you guys were here almost an hour without ordering, took over this 10 people seat, and only 7 of you are here and only ordering that little??" We were going to order more, and we did at the end, but I can't believe that they all freaked about this and practically yelling at us.

I felt so bad to my friend who reserved this place for all of us (and the guest of honor). I was going to yell back at them, but didn't want to make more mess since all we want was to have a good time with our friends. (well thanks to that manager, the party was over!)

We should have ordered faster and all, but still the way they treated their customers today, they treated us like a piece of crap. At the end, one manager came and said, "we were sorry before." but that short hair manager or owner really did it. and I made a decision not to go back to Shilla ever.

We still gave 20% tip though since the waitress was nice.

Best Korean BBQ in K-town – Korean BBQ is Awesome.!!. I went to the several Korean Restaurant for BBQ at 32st -TOWN. The Shilla Restaurant is best than other place. BBQ sauce is awesome. When you try the BBQ , Wrap the beef and rice in the lettuce and then eat. You will have a good experience with veg and beef's combination.

Also Korean BBQ is not like stake. You have to cook your self for your BBQ on your table. Very busy to eat. But Waiter would be help out.

Great Korean BBQ – This was the first time I had Korean BBQ and I loved it. Like a Benihana's, the food is prepared at your table, but unlike Benihana's, you do it yourself. I like having control over your food but your waiter will kindly help out if you're a little lost. All the sides were fun to sample but the rib tips (house specialty) is what made the meal standout. And I loved the accompanying BBQ sauce, but some members of my party didn't use it all. Then you just wrap up the meat in lettuce and it's just awesome! I also liked the seafood scallion pancake as another more substantial side dish.
